Loop on baby clothing or accessories for attaching pacifier or toys

Abstract

Baby clothing or accessories for babies have a non-removable loop sewn into a seam of the garment or accessory. The loop is comprised of the same material used in the garment or accessory. The permanent loop is useful when used in combination with a pacifier strap to secure the pacifier to the loop.

This Application is based upon provisional U.S. patent application Ser. No. 61/042,295, filed on Apr. 4, 2008.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a basic fabric loop sewn into a child's garment or accessory thereby having the loop become a permanent part of the garment or accessory. Used in combination with a strap comprising of both male and female snaps in order to attach a pacifier or toy to one end and attach the opposite end to the loop will allow child to keep pacifier or toy within reach while allow parent or caregiver the possibility to remove the strap from child.

There are a number of other devises used to keep a toy or pacifier within reach of child but are often unsuccessful as they can fall off of children's clothing.

One example of a common device is U.S. Pat. No. D326,917 Retaining strap for pacifier clip to clothing, which is widely to clip a pacifier onto a child, but often there is nowhere on the child's garment to attach the clip and could easily be pulled off by child. By having a permanent loop on the child's clothing, this issue will be resolved as well as having the possibility of using a removable strap in combination with the loop for easy cleaning.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention is a fabric loop sewn into the seam of a child's garment or accessory. When used in combination with a strap comprising of both male and female snaps, attaching a pacifier or toy to child will become more secure and allow child to keep items in reach.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

This invention is a fabric loop sewn into the seam of a child's garment or accessory. When used in combination with a strap comprising of both male and female snaps, attaching a pacifier or toy to child will become more secure and allow child to keep items in reach. The fabric loop comprises of, but not limited to, the same or similar fabric used in said child's garment or accessory. The loop is constructed by sewing the said fabric and folding in half to create the loop. The loop is then sewn into any seam of the garment or accessory used by infants and children.

By using this invention, a child will have easy access to a pacifier or toy while making it easier for parents and/or caregivers to attach a removable strap to child thereby allowing them to easily remove strap when it becomes dirty or no longer needed. Having the loop permanently attached to the child allows for easy access.

Claims

1. In combination with a child's garment or accessory, having a fabric loop comprised of the same or similar fabric of the said garment or accessory sewn into the seam and with the combination of a removable strap comprising: a fabric or ribbon with male and female snaps on both ends of said strap, one end of strap can be placed through loop and snapped into place while opposite end of strap can be attached to a pacifier or toy allowing child to keep said pacifier or toy in close proximity.

2. A fabric loop as recited in claim 1, wherein said fabric used for the child's garment or accessory is folded in half creating a loop and the ends sewn into the seam therefore becoming a permanent part of the garment or accessory.
