Air bottle securing device for paint ball gun
A securing device for paint ball gun includes an adjustment member connected to a barrel and a positioning member has an end pivotably connected to the adjustment member. The adjustment member includes a contact end for contacting an end of the air bottle and an operation end which is located outside of the barrel. A curved groove is defined in an outer surface of the adjustment member. The positioning member includes a space defined between two sidewalls thereof such that a part of the air bottle is supported. A pin is fixed to the barrel and engaged with the curved groove. When pivoting the positioning member about the axis of the adjustment member, the adjustment member moved axially due to the engagement of the pin and the curved groove and the air bottle can be removed from the paint ball gun.

(1) Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to an air bottle securing device for paint ball gun and more particularly, to a securing device that is easily operate to secure the air bottle.
(2) Description of the Prior Art
There are two ways to attach the pressurized air bottle to the paintball gun, the first way is to connect the air bottle outside of the barrel and the second way is to install the air bottle in the barrel. The second way usually connects the air bottle to the barrel or the handle. For the one that the air bottle is connected to the barrel, the barrel includes a chamber which is parallel to the barrel and the air bottle is then inserted into the chamber from an opening located beside the muzzle of the barrel. A stop bolt is then seals the opening to prevent dropping of the air bottle. However, if the length or size of the air bottle is not precise as expected, one end of the air tube might protrude out from the chamber or the bottle cannot be engaged with a communication hole of the barrel.
Another way to position the air bottle is that a push part is provided in the chamber so as to push the air bottle toward the communication hole to ensure the connection of the air bottle and the communication hole in the barrel. Nevertheless, the push part can only push the air bottle in horizontal direction and there is no support force in the vertical direction so that the air bottle might drop due to shaking of the force in the vertical direction.
The present invention intends to provide a securing device for the air bottle and the device provides both securing forces in horizontal or vertical directions to provide a reliable and secure way to the air bottle.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a securing device for paint ball gun and the securing device comprises an adjustment member which is connected to a barrel and has a contact end and an operation end. The contact end contacts an end of an air bottle and the operation end is located outside of the barrel. A curved groove is defined in an outer surface of the adjustment member. A positioning member has an end pivotably connected to the adjustment member and located close to the operation end. A space is defined in the positioning member so as to receive a part of the air bottle. A pin is fixed to the barrel and engaged with the curved groove. When pivoting the positioning member about an axis of the adjustment member, the adjustment member is moved axially while the pin moves in the curved groove such that the air bottle can be released.
The primary object of the present invention is to provide an air bottle securing device for a paint ball gun and includes a positioning member which provides support in vertical direction to the air bottle. The positioning member can be pivoted in two directions to release the air bottle conveniently.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
Referring to
The positioning member 30 has an end pivotably connected to the adjustment member 20 and the pivot point is located close to the operation end 22. The positioning member 30 includes two sidewalls with a transverse plate connected between the two sidewalls. A space 31 is defined in the positioning member 30 such that a part of the air bottle 3 is received in the space 31 and supported by the transverse plate. A notch 32 is defined in a top edge of one of the sidewalls and a pin 40 is fixed to the barrel 1 and engaged with the notch 32.
The position of the contact member 211 can be adjusted to firmly contact the air bottle 3 if the lengths of the air bottles 3 are slightly different.
Referring to
The securing device 10 can firmly secure the air bottles 3 of different lengths and the air bottle 3 is supported in horizontal and vertical direction when the barrel 1 is oriented horizontally.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
