Multiple reservoir bottle

A bottle includes an open ended hollow cylinder comprising an open first reservoir adapted to contain a quantity of first material, and an open second reservoir adapted to contain a quantity of second material; a funnel fitted on the cylinder to anchor on the joining portion of the first and the second reservoirs for sealing; and a cap releasably secured to an upper portion of the cylinder. The funnel comprises two opposite depending slopes having a third opening, and two adhesive papers each releasably disposed on the third opening, the adhesive paper having a tab extending out of the top of the third opening such that opening the bottle, tearing off the adhesive papers by pulling the tabs, closing the bottle, and slanting the bottle will communicate the first material with the second material through the opened third openings and the funnel.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The invention relates to bottles and more particularly to such a bottle having two or three reservoirs each containing a different material (e.g., cereal, milk, or the like), and the reservoirs being adapted to communicate each other for mixing after pulling off adhesive papers from a funnel mounted on the tops of the reservoirs.

2. Description of Related Art

Conventionally, a bottle has only one reservoir for containing a quantity of liquid (e.g., milk). Also, cereal is sold by bag or container. Sometimes, it is necessary to mix food (e.g., cereal) with liquid (e.g., milk) prior to eat. Hence, for example, an individual has to open a bottle filled with milk, open a container contained with cereal, and pour milk into the container for mixing prior to eat. This is very inconvenient. Further, a bottle and a container are required. Thus, a need for improvement exists.

Moreover, the most pertinent prior art of which this inventor is aware is U.S. Pat. No. 4,856,995 which discloses a multiple reservoir nursing bottle.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a multiple reservoir bottle comprising having two or three reservoirs each containing a different material, and the reservoirs being adapted to communicate each other for mixing after pulling off adhesive papers from a funnel mounted on the tops of the reservoirs. The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, a multiple reservoir bottle in accordance with a first preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The bottle is sold as a unit and comprises the following components as discussed in detail below. An open ended hollow cylinder 10 comprises a gable member 11 formed integrally with the bottom, the gable member 11 being adapted to divide the internal space of the cylinder 10 into first and second reservoirs 12, 13, and a threaded neck 14. The first reservoir 12 has a top opening 121 and the second reservoir 13 has a top opening 131 respectively.

A funnel 20 is adapted to fit on the top edge 101 of the cylinder 10. The funnel 20 comprises a W-shaped bottom having two opposite depending slopes 21, 22, the inverted V-shaped underside of the funnel 20 being adapted to matingly fit over the ridged top of the gable member 11 for retaining the funnel 20 in the cylinder 10. A rectangular opening 201 is formed on each slope (e.g., slope 21 as shown). A longitudinal slat 26 is formed to interconnect the midpoint of the top edge of the opening 201 and the midpoint of the bottom edge of the opening 201. An adhesive paper 24 is releasably provided on the opening 201. The adhesive paper 24 has a top tab 25 extending out of the top edge of the opening 201.

A cylindrical cap 30 has threads 31 on an inner surface of its depending skirt. The threads 31 are adapted to mate with the threaded neck 14 for assembling the bottle as a closed container.

For example, milk is filled in the first reservoir 12, cereal is contained in the second reservoir 13, and the bottle is closed. Next, an individual may open the bottle by removing the cap 30. Next, the individual may tear off the adhesive papers 24 by pulling the tabs 25. Hence, the openings 201 are exposed. Thereafter, the individual may close the bottle again by mounting the cap 30 on the cylinder 10. Next, the individual may slant the bottle to cause milk to flow from the first reservoir 12 to the second reservoir 13 for mixing with the cereal through one opened opening 201, an internal space 23 of the funnel 20, and the other opened opening 201. As a result, the bottle is full of the mixed milk and cereal. Moreover, prior to eat the individual may shake the bottle for more uniformly mixing the milk with the cereal. Note that the provision of the slat 26 can separate fine materials from coarse materials in one reservoir when the material passes the opening 201.

Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, a multiple reservoir bottle in accordance with a second preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the second preferred embodiment are detailed below. The cylinder 40 has first, second, and third reservoirs 42, 43, 44 as divided by two parallel gable members 41 formed integrally. The funnel 50 has an internal space 52 divided into two subspaces. The funnel 50 is adapted to fit on the top edge 401 of the cylinder 40. The cap 60 is also threadedly secured to the cylinder 40. Materials in any two reservoirs may communicate each other through the opened openings 51 for mixing.

Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, a multiple reservoir bottle in accordance with a third preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the third preferred embodiment are detailed below. The cylinder 70 has two concentric reservoirs 71 and 72 divided by an internal cylindrical member 73 formed integrally with the bottom of the cylinder 70. The funnel 80 has a cup shaped internal space 81. The funnel 80 is adapted to fit on the top edge of the cylindrical member 73. The cap 90 is also threadedly secured to the cylinder 70. Materials in the two reservoirs 71, 72 may communicate each other through the opened openings (not shown) on the peripheral wall of the funnel 80 for mixing.

While the invention herein disclosed has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the claims.

Claims

1. A bottle comprising:

an open ended hollow cylinder comprising a first reservoir having a first opening and adapted to contain a quantity of first material, and a second reservoir having a second opening and adapted to contain a quantity of second material wherein the first and the second reservoirs are formed integrally;
a funnel adapted to fit on the top of the cylinder and having its bottom securely seated on the joining portion of the first and the second reservoirs; and
a cap releasably secured to an upper portion of the cylinder;
wherein the funnel comprises two opposite depending slopes having a third opening, and two adhesive papers each releasably disposed on the third opening, the adhesive paper having a tab extending out of the top of the third opening such that opening the bottle, tearing off the adhesive papers by pulling the tabs, closing the bottle, and slanting the bottle will communicate the first material with the second material through the opened third openings and the internal space of the funnel.

2. The bottle of claim 1, further comprising a longitudinal slat interconnecting the top of the third opening and the bottom thereof.

3. A bottle comprising:

an open ended hollow cylinder comprising a first reservoir having a first opening and adapted to contain a quantity of first material, a second reservoir having a second opening and adapted to contain a quantity of second material, and a third reservoir having a third opening and adapted to contain a quantity of third material wherein the first, the second, and the third reservoirs are formed integrally;
a funnel adapted to fit on the top of the cylinder and having its bottom securely seated on the joining portion of the first and the second reservoirs and the joining portion of the second and the third reservoirs; and
a cap releasably secured to an upper portion of the cylinder;
wherein the internal space of the funnel is divided into two sections each comprising two opposite depending slopes having a third opening, and two adhesive papers each releasably disposed on the third opening, the adhesive paper having a tab extending out of the top of the third opening such that opening the bottle, tearing off the adhesive papers by pulling the tabs, closing the bottle, and slanting the bottle will communicate the first material with the second material through the opened third openings and one section of the funnel, and communicate the second material with the third material through the opened third openings and the other section of the funnel.

4. The bottle of claim 3, further comprising a longitudinal slat interconnecting the top of the third opening and the bottom thereof.

5. A bottle comprising:

an open ended hollow cylinder comprising a cylindrical outer reservoir having a first opening and adapted to contain a quantity of first material, and an inner reservoir having a second opening and adapted to contain a quantity of second material wherein the first and the second reservoirs are formed integrally;
a funnel adapted to fit on the top of the cylinder and having its bottom securely seated on the inner reservoir; and
a cap releasably secured to an upper portion of the cylinder;
wherein the funnel comprises two opposite depending slopes having a third opening, and two adhesive papers each releasably disposed on the third opening, the adhesive paper having a tab extending out of the top of the third opening such that opening the bottle, tearing off the adhesive papers by pulling the tabs, closing the bottle, and slanting the bottle will communicate the first material with the second material through the opened third openings and the internal space of the funnel.

6. The bottle of claim 5, further comprising a longitudinal slat interconnecting the top of the third opening and the bottom thereof.
