SYNTHETIC POWER FUEL

A synthetic power fuel includes fuel and Isopropyl alcohol, and the fuel is a mixture of hydrocarbon compounds of C4-C18. After the fuel and the Isopropyl alcohol are mixed and stirred completely, this mixture, the synthetic power fuel, can be used in an internal combustion engine, burned and exploded therein to push move the piston rod in a cylinder to produce power. In addition, the synthetic power fuel contains comparatively low sulfur, thus being eco-friendly, saving-energy, and accordingly boosting up mechanical power.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to synthetic power fuel, particularly to one eco-friendly, energy-saving and stepping up mechanical power.

2. Description of the Prior Art

According to the report issued by INTERNATIONAL ENERGY AGENCY, the world reserve of petroleum can only supply for about 40 years from now, so energy deficiency should be the most serious problem all the people in the globe must face in the near future.

Biomass energy, in short, is bio-substance produced by photosynthesis, and then converted technically into usable energy. Different crop sources offer different biomass energies classified into bio-ethanol and biodiesel, such as corn, sugarcane, wheat as crops for producing bio-ethanol, and soya, rapeseed, oil palm and waste edible oil for producing biodiesel.

Recently biomass energy has prevailed as new source of energy, not only extremely expected to take place of fossil fuel gradually decreasing, but also potentially cutting down greenhouse gas emission. Therefore, development of biomass energy has naturally been regarded indispensable in discussing energy safety and global warming in national or international conferences.

However, biomass diesel used nowadays is deemed to be short of horsepower and not so effective, so energy saving in addition to searching for substitutes is considered most urgent, with diminishing of petroleum reserves.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A main purpose of the invention is to offer a synthetic power fuel being eco-friendly, energy-saving and accordingly enhancing mechanical power.

The synthetic power fuel includes a kind of fuel and Isopropyl alcohol, and the fuel is a mixture of hydrocarbon compounds of C4-C18. If the two ingredients are mixed and stirred enough, it can be used in an internal combustion engine to burn and explode therein to produce comparatively high power to push move a piston rod in a cylinder, with its exhausted smoke containing less greenhouse gas and other toxicants.

This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying tables, wherein:

Table 1 is power test data of the first preferred embodiment of a synthetic power fuel in the present invention;

Table 2 is power test data of the second embodiment of a synthetic power fuel in the present invention; and

Table 3 is power test date of the third embodiment of a synthetic power fuel in the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

At first, Table (1) is referred, which shows power test results of the first preferred embodiment.

The synthetic power fuel in the present invention contains 92.6-99.20V % power fuel being a mixture of hydrocarbon compounds of C4-C12, and 0.79-7.4V % Isopropyl alcohol, namely, a kind of inflammable alcohol compound. Then the synthetic power fuel can burn and explode in an internal combustion engine, producing larger power for pushing move a piston rod in a cylinder than common fuel.

The synthetic power fuel gotten by mixing 100 liters of 99.2 V % power fuel with 0.8 liter of 0.79V % Isopropyl alcohol was tested by using it in the internal combusting engine of a car, and it was found that saving efficiency is 20%. Then another synthetic power fuel gotten by mixing 100 liters of 92.6V % power fuel with 8 liters of 7.4V % Isopropyl alcohol was tested by using it in the same engine, getting the result of saving efficiency being 10%. Based on these tests, it can be deduced that the synthetic power fuels containing 0.79-7.4V % Isopropyl alcohol can all enhance their power.

Next, Table (2) is power test data of a second preferred embodiment of the invention.

In the second preferred embodiment, 100 liters of 99.2V % power fuel is mixed completely with 0.8 liter of Isopropyl alcohol, getting 100.8 litters of synthetic power fuel. Then it was used in the internal combustion engine of a car, and found to save fuel as high as 20%. Again, another kind of synthetic power fuel by mixing 100 liters of 92.6V % power fuel with 8 liters of 7.4V % Isopropyl alcohol was used in the same engine, getting the results of saving fuel 10%. Therefore, it can be inferred that the synthetic power fuels containing 0.79-7.4V % Isopropyl alcohol can all rev up its power.

Further, Table (3) shows power test data of a third preferred embodiment of the invention.

Next, the synthetic power fuel containing 0.79V % Isopropyl alcohol and a 99.2V % hydrocarbon compound of C9-C18 in the invention was compared with market-sold power fuel by testing. The testing has found that the public garbage truck has run 3.8 km. with 1 liter of market-sold power fuel, while 1 liter of the synthetic power fuel of the invention has permitted the public garbage truck run 4.6 km. Thus the fuel according to the invention saved fuel 20% or so.

Inventor, CHEN KUO YAO, of the invention made a synthetic power fuel by mixing a hydrocarbon compound of 7.4V % C9-C18 with 92.6V % Isopropyl alcohol and had it tested for its sulfur content. The result is 36 ppmw, but market-sold power fuel contains 50 ppmw, showing the invention being more eco-friendly.

The synthetic power fuel was tested by the test method of American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) No. D976, and it is found that the synthetic power fuel in the invention has a cetane index of 56, higher than 48 for that of gasoline in use now. (the index 48 for that of gasoline in use now.) The cetane index is a sort of indicating ability of catching fire, and the ability of catching fire means how high the temperature of automatically catching fire, and the higher the cetane index, the easier its volatility. So it can produce higher power, thus saving energy. With the high cetane index, its vaporizing effect is better, letting it burn completely, permitting exhausted smoke have better penetration and its odor reduced. The ASTM D130 testing method used copper strip erosion for finding whether the polished copper strip changed color or not in a solvent at 50° C. for three hours. If it changed into black, it means that the copper strip in the synthetic power fuel slightly changed into dark orange. Therefore, the synthetic power fuel does not erode an engine.

It was found in the experiment that the synthetic power fuel in the invention can save fuel in different ways in the scope of 10-40% when used in internal combustion engines of different types of automobiles, showing that the synthetic power fuel in the invention can save energy and stepping up working efficiency of engines as well.

Meanwhile, when Isopropyl alcohol is mixed with hydrocarbon compound of C4-C18, emulsion may occur in the course of process, and if they are used in an internal combustion engine without mixed and stirred enough, an explosion may happen. Therefore, the Isopropyl alcohol has to be completely mixed with gasoline for avoiding explosion. It is a regret that the inventor does not understand why emulsion should happen in the course of mixing, but it is a fact that our experiments do show the evidence that the synthetic power fuel in the invention enhances its power.

While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall into the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A synthetic power fuel comprising:

92.6-99.26V % power fuel being a mixture of hydrocarbon compounds of C4-C18; and
0.74-7.4V % Isopropyl alcohol.

2. The synthetic power fuel as claimed in claim 1, wherein said power fuel is diesel fuel.

3. The synthetic power fuel as claimed in claim 1, wherein said power fuel is gasoline.
