Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an abrasive polishing net with a stickable fiber layer. About this invention, the abrasive polishing net layer has sufficient strength. The fibers provide excellent adhering force. Plus, the stickable fiber layer has many openings for expelling polishing debris.

2. Description of the Prior Art

The conventional grinding element (such as a sandpaper) usually is a paper coated with many wear-resistant particles. This conventional grinding element can be fixed on a rotating head of a polishing device. Once the rotating head is driven, the wear-resistant particles provide the function of grinding or polishing a workpiece.

However, the conventional grinding element has the following problems and defects.

[1] The strength of paper is very poor. The base of the conventional grinding element is a paper. If the contacting force during the polishing process is too large, the paper may be torn off (or broken). Its strength is too weak.

[2] The adhering force is relative low. Even though the conventional grinding element can be adhered on a rotating head of a polishing device by glue. However, because the strength of paper is too weak, it is quite possible to be torn off (or broken) during the polishing process. So, The adhering force is relative low.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide an abrasive polishing net with a stickable fiber layer. In which, the abrasive polishing net layer has sufficient strength.

The next object of the present invention is to provide an abrasive polishing net with a stickable fiber layer. The fibers of this invention provide excellent adhering force. Another object of the present invention is to provide an abrasive polishing net with a stickable fiber layer. The stickable fiber layer has many openings for expelling polishing debris

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, the present invention is an abrasive polishing net with a stickable fiber layer. It mainly comprises an abrasive polishing net layer 10 and a stickable fiber layer 20.

With regard to the abrasive polishing net layer 10, it is consisted by metal meshes and has an outer surface 11, an inner surface 12 and multiple conduits 13 connecting the outer surface 11 and the inner surface 12. The adhesive polishing net layer 10 is coated with a wear-resistant coating wrap 14 (as illustrated in FIG. 7 and FIG. 9). The wear-resistant coating wrap 14 includes many tiny wear-resistant particles 141 and an adhering portion 142. The wear-resistant particle 141 is composed of silicon carbide (SiC) and zirconia (ZrO2).

Concerning this stickable fiber layer 20, it is composed by a plurality of fibers 21. Spaces 22 are disposed among these randomly distributed fibers 21 for allowing needle structures 91 or the like to insert in (as shown in FIG. 6 and FIG. 8). The stickable fiber layer 20 further includes a gluing layer 23 for adhering with the inner surface 12 of the abrasive polishing net layer 10.

Practically, the stickable fiber layer 20 could have many openings 24. The function of these openings 24 is to expel some grinding debris or small pieces through the abrasive polishing net layer 10. It can avoid some grinding debris stuck in the abrasive polishing net layer 10. It not only can improve the polishing efficiency but also can prolong the life of this product.

Once the abrasive polishing net layer 10 and the stickable fiber layer 20 are combined as an integral one, there are two different applications.

[a] Forming a circular polishing disk. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, it is a substantially thin circular disk. It is very suitable to be installed on the rotating head 90 of a hand-held polishing device (referring to the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 4, 5 and 6). Under this circumstance, multiple tiny needle structures 91 are protruded from the surface of the rotating head 90 of the hand-held polishing device. So, as illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8, the user can force these needle structures 91 to insert into the spaces 22 among the fibers 21 of the stickable fiber layer 20. That is, the usage is very similar to the one of the traditional temporarily-adhering element (such as Velcro or the like).

[b] Forming a polishing belt. As illustrated in FIG. 10 (referring as the second embodiment), it is a thin polishing belt (forming a loop) that is suitable to fit on the driving rollers. Therefore, it can achieve the grinding or polishing work for a workpiece.

The improvements of this invention can be summarized as follows.

[1] The abrasive polishing net layer has sufficient strength. In this invention, the abrasive polishing net layer is a metal structure (no matter for a circular polishing disk or a polishing belt). Due to this structure, this invention is durable with high strength. It significantly increases the grinding or polishing efficiency.

[2] The fibers provide excellent adhering force. The stickable fiber layer is composed by many fibers. The stickable fiber layer can insert into the spaces among these fibers. In addition, they can be separated by pulling out easily. So, the stickable fiber layer can be firmly fixed on part having the needle-like protrusions. Therefore, the protruded needle-like structures on the surface of the rotating head of the hand-held polishing device can insert into the stickable fiber layer with a great adhering effect.

[3] The stickable fiber layer has many openings for expelling polishing debris. Because there are many openings, it can enhance the expelling efficiency during the grinding or polishing work. Of course, certain fluid (such as cooling fluid, water, etc.) can be provided though these openings (and through the spaces among fibers). It can enhance the polishing result. Also, it is helpful to wash away the polishing debris during the polishing process.
