Description
BACKGROUND

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a gift bag. More particularly, the gift bag has a double-wall structure not only providing a relatively enhanced strength for gift holding capacity but also enhancing a decorative appearance of the gift bag with the double-layer configuration.

2. Discussion of the Related Art

Gift bags are considered as one of popular wrapping device for giving gifts. Generally speaking, the gift bag is made of paper with brightly colored pattern printed thereon. The gift bag, which is similar to a typical paper bag, comprises a front panel and a rear panel overlapped with each other to receive the gift therebetween. However, such conventional gift bag has several drawbacks.

Since the gift bag is made of paper, the gift bag cannot provide any protection against exposure to water. Therefore, the gift bag cannot resist water droplets from passing therethrough so that the water droplets may damage the gift inside the gift bag. A waterproof gift bag may further contains a waterproof coating coated on the outer surface of the front and rear panel to resist the water droplets from passing through. However, the manufacturing cost of the waterproof gift bag will be significantly increased.

The gift bag is not made of stiff material so that the gift bag may wear out easily. Accordingly, the purpose of using the gift bag is to not only enhance the appearance but also to protect the gift inside the gift bag. Therefore, once the gift bag is worn out, the gift may not be protected by the gift bag any more.

As it is mentioned above, the decorative pattern is printed on the front and rear panels of the gift bag to provide an aesthetic appearance thereof. However, there are very limited printing techniques adapted to be used for printing on the gift bag. For example, when the holographic speckle pattern is provided on the gift bag, an additional decorative pattern should not be printed on the holographic speckle pattern. Therefore, the entire gift bag can only have the holographic speckle pattern. In other words, when the decorative pattern is provided on the holographic speckle pattern, the portion thereof will be covered by the decorative pattern.

Likewise, the decorative pattern with three-dimensional image is designed to print on the gift bag to create a three-dimensional virtual effect. However, such three-dimensional decorative pattern cannot provide any “floating” effect on the gift bag.

On the other hand, no matter what kind of decorative pattern printing on the gift bag, the gift bag itself cannot provide alternative texture effect to create an aesthetical texture look of the gift bag.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention overcomes the above mentioned drawbacks and limitation by configuring the gift bag with double-wall structure.

The primary objective of the present invention is that the gift bag with the double-wall structure for not only providing a relatively enhanced strength for carrying a gift inside but also enhancing a decorative appearance of the gift bag.

Another objective of the present invention is that the inner layer of the gift bag is made of waterproof material, such as plastic, to resist the water droplets passing through.

Another objective of the present invention is that the decorative pattern of the gift bag can provide a three-dimensional virtual effect by simply overlaying the outer layer with inner layer of the gift bag to create a “floating” effect on the gift bag.

Another objective of the present invention is that the gift bag is able to solve the conventional printing problems by forming the double-wall structure. The inner layer of the gift bag can be provided with the holographic speckle pattern whereas the transparent outer layer of the gift bag can be printed with printed decorative pattern to overlap on the inner layer so as to create a holographic print-on effect for the gift bag. Likewise, the outer layer of the gift bag can be made of napped filamentary material to overlay with the inner layer so as to provide an aesthetically texture-softer look of the gift bag.

The preferred embodiment is a gift bag comprising a bag body constructed by a front panel and a rear panel joined edge-to-edge. Each of the front and rear panels comprises an inner waterproof layer overlaying with an outer see-through layer. Accordingly, the inner and outer layers form a double-wall structure for not only providing a relatively enhanced strength for carrying a gift inside the bag body but also enhancing a decorative appearance of the bag body.

For a more complete understanding of the present invention with its objectives and distinctive features and advantages, reference is now made to the following specification and to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a gift bag for receiving a gift in accordance with the present invention is illustrated. The gift bag comprises a bag body 10 and a cincture means 20 for closing the bag body 10.

The bag body 10 comprises a front panel 11, a rear panel 12, and a bottom panel 13 extended between bottom edges of the front and rear panels 11, 12. Two lateral edges of the front panel 11 are joined with two lateral edges of the rear panel 12 to form an interior cavity 101 between the front and rear panels and a top opening 102 communicating with the interior cavity 101. The bottom panel 13 is folded in half and has two lateral edges joined between the lateral edges of the front and rear panels 11, 12 respectively.

FIG. 2 shows each of the front and rear panels 11, 12 comprises an inner layer 111, 121 and an outer layer 112, 122 overlaying on the inner layer 111, 121 to form a double-wall structure of the bag body 10.

Each of the inner layers 111, 121 is made of waterproof material, such as plastic, to resist the water droplets passing into the interior cavity 101. Each of the inner layers 111, 121 also has a decorative pattern provided on an outer surface thereof.

Each of the outer layers 112, 122 is made of see-through material so that when the outer layer 112, 122 is overlapped on the respective inner layer 111, 121, the decorative pattern on the inner layer 111, 121 can be seen through the outer layer 112, 122 for enhancing a virtual effect of the decorative pattern. Therefore, the double-wall structure of each of the front and rear panels 11, 12 not only provide a relatively enhanced strength for carrying the gift inside the interior cavity 101 but also enhances a decorative appearance of the bag body 10 when the outer layers 112, 122 are overlapped on the inner layers 111, 121 respectively.

FIG. 2 also shows the double-wall structure of the bottom panel 13 to enhance the strength of the bag body 10. The bottom panel 13 comprises a top layer 131 integrally extended between the inner layers 111, 121 of the front and rear panels 11, 12 and a bottom layer 132 integrally extended between the outer layers 112, 122 of the front and rear panels 11, 12. Therefore, the top layer 131 of the bottom panel 13 and the inner layers 111, 121 of the front and rear panels 11, 12 form a single interior sheet of the bag body 10 whereas the bottom layer 132 of the bottom panel 13 and the outer layers 112, 122 of the front and rear panels 11, 12 form a single exterior sheet of the bag body 10.

In order to manufacture the bag body 10, the single interior sheet is firstly overlain on the single exterior sheet and then the single interior and exterior sheets are folded in half to form the front panel 11, the rear panel 12, and the bottom panel 13. Then, by joining the lateral edges of the front and rear panels 11, 12, the bag body 10 is formed. Preferably the lateral edges of the front and rear panels 11, 12 are joined by ultrasonic welding.

The cincture means 20 is arranged for closing the top opening 102 of the bag body 10, wherein the cincture means 20 comprises two sliding sleeves 21 provided at the front and rear panels 11, 12 respectively and two elongated ribbons 22, 23 encircling the bag body 10 through the sliding sleeves 21 at the opposite directions.

As shown in FIG. 2, two parallel ultrasonic welding lines 201 are spacedly formed on each of the front and rear panels 11, 12 to define the respective sliding sleeve 21 between the two ultrasonic welding lines 201, wherein each of the ultrasonic welding lines 201 is joined the respective outer layer 112, 122 with the inner layer 111, 121. Therefore, each of the sliding sleeves 21 is formed between the outer layers 112, 122 and inner layers 111, 121 of each of the front and rear panels 11, 12.

The cincture means 20 further comprises two cutout portions 24, 25 provided at two lateral edges of the front and rear panels 11, 12 to form two openings of the sliding sleeves 21. Therefore, one of the cutout portions 24 is communicating with another cutout portion 25 through the sliding sleeves 21. As shown in FIG. 2, wherein one of the elongated ribbons 22 is extended through the sliding sleeves 21 at one cutout portion 24 whereas another the elongated ribbon 23 is extended through the sliding sleeves 21 at another cutout portion 25.

Each of the elongated ribbons 22, 23 is folded in a U-shaped configuration to define a corning portion and two elongated portions. Accordingly, the first elongated ribbon 22 is coupled with the bag body 10 at a position that the two elongated portions of the first elongated ribbon 22 are slidably passing through the sliding sleeves 21 respectively until the corning portion of the first elongated ribbon 22 is retained at the first cutout portion 24. Likewise, the second elongated ribbon 23 is coupled with the bag body 10 at a position that the two elongated portions of the second elongated ribbon 23 are slidably passing through the sliding sleeves 21 respectively until the coming portion of the second elongated ribbon 23 is retained at the second cutout portion 25. Therefore, by pulling the elongated portions of the first and second elongated ribbons 22, 23 at the opposite directions and tied together, the bag body 10 is gathered at the top opening 102 to enclose the interior cavity 101. It is appreciated that having the double-wall structure, the elongated ribbons 22, 23 are slid between the inner layers 111, 121 and the outer layers 112, 122. Therefore, the elongated ribbons 22, 23 cannot be pulled at either the inner sides of the inner layers 111, 121 or the outer sides of the outer layers 112, 122.

FIG. 3 shows the gift bag with the holographic print-on effect. The decorative pattern of each of the inner layers 111, 121 is a holographic speckle pattern for providing a three-dimensional light diffracting effect. Each of the outer layers 112, 122 is made of transparent material and has a printed decorative pattern so that when the outer layer 112, 122 is overlapped on the inner layer 111, 121, the printed decorative pattern forms on the holographic speckle pattern to create the holographic print-on effect of the bag body 10. Therefore, the gift bag of the present invention solves the conventional printing problem of incapable of printing a pattern on a holographic speckle pattern.

FIG. 4 shows the gift bag with the aesthetically texture-softer look. The decorative pattern is a graphical background pattern printed on each of the inner layers 111, 121 for enhancing an aesthetical appearance of the bag body 10. Each of the outer layers 112, 122 is made of napped filamentary material, so that when the outer layer 112, 122 is overlapped on the inner layer 111, 121, the outer layer 112, 122 not only creates the color-softening effect on the graphical pattern of the inner layer 111, 121 but also provides the aesthetically texture-softer look of the bag body 10.

Similarly, the outer layers 112, 122 are made of waterproof and transparent material and have a decorative pattern printed thereon. The inner layers 111, 121 are made of soft and scratch resistance material to protect the gift in the gift body 10 as shown in FIG. 5. Preferably, the outer layers 112, 122 are made of PP film so that they are resistant to water droplets. Therefore, the inner layers 111, 121 can be seen through the outer layers 112, 122 whereas the gift can be protected by the inner layers 111, 121 from being scratched and by the outer layers 112, 122 for preventing water damage at the same time.

It is worth mentioning that both the inner layers 111, 121 and the outer layers 112, 122 can be made of waterproof material and have a two-dimensional printing image. Once the outer layers 112, 122 are overlain with the inner layers 111, 121, the two-dimensional printing images are overlapped to create a three-dimensional virtual effect for the bag body 10.

While the embodiments and alternatives of the present invention have been shown and described, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that various other changes and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
