BELT FOR TYING CABLES

A belt (1) for tying a number of cables is provided. The belt includes a flexible strip body (10) adapted to encircle said plurality cables, and a head forming an elastic hook (20) having a receiving portion and a latching arm (21) close to the flexible strip body (10). The latching arm (21) is flexible to be opened from the strip body (10) when a part of the cables slides into the receiving portion and then to be closed due to an elasticity of the hook (20).

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the invention

The present invention relates to a belt for tying a number cables, and more particularly to a belt secured with one of the cables.

2. Description of Related Art

U.S. Pat. No. 6,634,063 issued to Joseph on Oct. 21, 2003 discloses a cable tie arrangement. The cable tie arrangement includes a flexible strap and a locking head. The flexible strap has a series of spaced apertures formed therein. A first group of apertures extend from one end and extend over at least half of the strap, the first group of apertures serving to allow for adjustably securing the strap over a cable or other object to be bundled. A second group of apertures extends from an opposing end of said strap, two of the apertures may be used in combination with the locking head to secure a portion of the strap about one loop of a cable to be bundled. The locking head has a central post terminating at opposing ends with radially extending, axially aligned discs sized for locking engagement with the apertures. A third axially aligned disc positioned intermediately along the axis of the post and also radially extending therefrom separates the opposing end discs so that apertures on either end of the strap may be selectively and discretely engaged and disengaged from said discs. The portion of the strap secured to the single loop of the cable may remain attached as the cable is unbundled, thus obviating the need to locate the cable tie when the cable is to be rebundled.

However, the structure of the cable tie arrangement is complex which increases cost of manufacturing the same.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An object of the present invention is to provide a belt for tying cables with a simple structure and lower manufacturing cost.

The present invention satisfies the forgoing object and provides a belt comprising a flexible strip body, a head forming a hook to secure a part of the cables therein, a button portion 30 integrally formed on an out side of the strip body, and a tail portion 12 forming a button structure 40 to buckle said button portion 30. The strip body 10 is adapted to form a circle receiving the plurality of cables and said button structure 40 buckling said button portion 30 when it is needed to tie said plurality of cables in the circle.

According to another aspect of the present invention, another belt for tying a plurality of cables is provided. The belt comprises a flexible strip body adapted to encircle said plurality cables, and a head forming an elastic hook having a receiving portion and a latching arm close to said flexible strip body. The latching arm is flexible to open from the strip body when a part of the cables slides into said receiving portion and then to close the part of the cables therein due to an elasticity of the hook.

Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Reference will now be made to the drawing figures to describe the present invention in detail.

Referring to FIGS. 1-3, a belt 1 for tying a plurality of cables is shown. The belt 1 includes a flexible strip body 10, a head forming a hook 20 to secure a part of the cables therein, a button portion 30 integrally formed on an out side of the strip body 10, and a tail portion 12 forming a button structure 40 to buckle said button portion 30. The strip body 10 is adapted to form a circle receiving the plurality of cables and the button structure 40 buckling the button portion 30 when it is needed to tie the plurality of cables in the circle.

The hook 20 has a curved portion connecting a front end 11 of the strip body 10 and a latching arm 21 extending backwardly from said curved portion. A receiving portion is defined between the curved portion and the latching arm 21 and the strip body 11 for receiving one of the plurality of cables. A guiding slot 210 is defined between the latching arm 21 and the strip body 10 communicating the receiving portion and outside. The latching arm 21 has a protrusion 211 extending towards said strip body 10. The protrusion 211 has a tapered face 212 for guiding the one of cables into the hook 20 and a stop face 213 for keeping the one of cables inside the hook 20. The latching arm 21 is flexible to be opened from the strip body 11 when a part of the cables slides into said receiving portion and then to be closed due to an elasticity of the hook 20.

The button portion 30 forms a latching tab extending from an outside face of the strip body 11. The button structure 40 defines a through hole 41. The latching tab 30 engages into the through hole 41 thereby forming the buckling between said button structure 40 and button portion 30. The latching tab 30 forms a rear slant face 31 for latching said tail portion 12 and guiding said tail portion 12 inwards. The tail portion 12 forms a depth-increased area 42 around said through hole 41 on the outside. The tail portion 12 forms two chamfers 411, 412 around the through hole 41 on opposite sides of the tail portion 12.

It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims

1. A belt for tying a plurality of cables, comprising:

a flexible strip body;
a head forming a hook to secure a part of the cables therein;
a button portion integrally formed on an outside of the strip body; and
a tail portion forming a button structure to buckle said button portion; wherein
said strip body is adapted to form a circle receiving the plurality of cables and said button structure buckling said button portion when it is needed to tie said plurality of cables in the circle.

2. A belt according to claim 1, wherein said hook has a curved portion connecting a front end of the strip body and a latching arm extending backwardly from said curved portion, said part of the cables being latched between the strip body and the curved portion and the latching arm.

3. A belt according to claim 2, wherein said latching arm has a protrusion extending towards said strip body and having a tapered face for guiding said part of cables into the hook and a stop face for keeping said part of cables inside the hook.

A belt according to claim 1, wherein said button portion forms a latching tab extending from a side face of the strip body, and said button structure defines a through hole, the latching tab mating into said through hole, thereby forming the buckling between said button structure and button portion.

5. A belt according to claim 4, wherein said latching tab forms a rear slant face for latching said tail portion and guiding said tail portion towards the strip body.

6. A belt according to claim 5, wherein said tail portion forms a depth-increased area around said through hole on an outside of the tail portion.

7. A belt according to claim 6, wherein said tail portion forms two chamfers around said through hole on opposite sides of the tail portion.

8. A belt for tying a plurality of cables, comprising:

a flexible strip body adapted to encircle said plurality of cables; and
a head forming an elastic hook having a receiving portion and a latching arm close to said flexible strip body, wherein
said latching arm is flexible to be opened from the strip body when a part of the cables slides into said receiving portion and then to be closed due to an elasticity of the hook.

9. A belt according to claim 8, wherein a button portion integrally formed on a side of the strip body and a tail portion forming a button structure to buckle said button portion.

10. A belt according to claim 9, wherein said hook has a curved portion connecting a front end of the strip body, said latching arm extending backwardly from said curved portion.

11. A belt according to claim 10, wherein said latching arm has a protrusion extending towards said strip body and having a tapered face for guiding said part of cables into the receiving portion and a stop face for keeping said part of cables therein.

12. A belt according to claim 8, wherein said button portion forms a latching tab extending from an outside face of the strip body, and said button structure defining a through hole, the latching tab mating into said through hole thereby forming the buckling between said button structure and button portion 30.

13. A belt according to claim 12, wherein said latching tab forms a rear slant face for latching said tail portion and guiding said tail portion towards the strip body.

14. A belt according to claim 13, wherein said tail portion forms a depth-increased area around said through hole on an outside of the tail portion.

15. A belt according to claim 14, wherein said tail portion forms two chamfers around said through hole on opposite sides of the tail portion.

16. A belt for use with a bundle of cables, comprising:

a flexible strip body;
a head located around one end of said strip body and forming a deflectable hook thereof defining an inner receiving space for receiving few cables therein, and a button portion formed on an exterior face of said head; and
an opening formed in the other end of the strip body and adapted to be locked to the button portion so as to form an outer receiving space for receiving remaining most cables therein.

17. The belt as claimed in claim 16, wherein a portion of said button portion around a free end of the hook defines a thinner structure in comparison with remaining portions of said button portion.

18. The belt as claimed in claim 16, wherein the end where the hook is located defines a greater thickness than the other end.
