Protective casing

A casing for storing and presenting documents is disclosed which has two sheets of foil of different length joined together along three edges and a top edge joint which creates a protective flap. The back side of the longer sheet is fitted with sleeves for magnets to hold the casing on as door or other substratum.

Description

The object of this invention is a protective casing intended for presentation and protection against damage, soiling and harmful impact of the environment of the stored documents or other inserted items.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There are known various sorts of foil covers or sleeves used to store documents in sorting binders, and also satchels used for storing documents in the vertical or horizontal arrangement in document docks, on cabinet shelves etc.

From the description of utility model nr 52197 is known a cover for documents storing, especially in workbooks or sorting binders—having two integrated neighboring sides perpendicular to each other and one side integrated at about ⅓ of its length.

From the deposit of an invention nr Z-331739 is known a sleeve for sheets made from elastic material with many holes adapted for reconnectable joints with other elements which can enter into those holes. This sleeve is characteristic in this, that for each hole there is a leading tangent access slot, straight and reaching the appropriate hole in its farthest point from the edge. The area near the edge where the holes are is reinforced. For such a solution a sleeve can be inserted and removed from the ring binder without opening them, at the same time securing against accidental pulling out by the weight of the stored documents. This sleeve can be also used for binders where the rings are not openable.

From the application documents of utility model W-107256 there is known jacket for books or notebooks, with two edges coated with gluing means.

Further, from the description of the utility model RU-62598 is known magnetic joining, especially to flat elements and used specifically for the conference folders, organizers, sorting binders and albums. The magnetic joining, used for reconnectable joining flat elements and having at least one magnet is characteristic by incorporating two lengths of thin magnetic tape, each laminated into the material of the elements being joined.

Known portfolios, covers or casings are intended mainly for storing documents in sorting binders and in vertical or horizontal fashion on the shelves, or in cabinets. Thus they do not allow for presenting the material inside on flat vertical surfaces without using push pins, sticking tape, Velcro etc. Used means of joining, for example the magnetic tape from ferromagnetic powders, are rather weak and do not allow for adjusting the magnetic force. These drawbacks are overcome by the protective casing demonstrated by the present invention.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The protective casing of the present invention consists of two sheets of foil of different length, joined together along three edges, while the top edge joint creates a protective flap, and the back side of the longer sheet is fitted with sleeves for magnets.

The advantage of the protective casing in accordance with the present invention is the magnetic way of attaching it to the substratum. The casing permits storing and presentation of the inside materials on all surfaces with ferromagnetic properties, and without additional means for attachment, like tapes—thus becoming a very useful solution.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The casing is made from two sheets 1, 2 of dielectric material of two different lengths, conjoined together along three edges 3, 4, 5. The fourth, upper edge 6 of the shorter sheet 1 of the casing remains open. Upper edge 7 of the longer sheet 2 of the protective casing is conjoined 8, 9 with the protective flap 10. In the space between 8, 9 is an opening. The back side of the longer sheet 2 of the protective casing is equipped with slips 11 which have the form of small pockets in which there are small magnets, preferably neodymium, ceramic (nonconductive) etc. The slips are made from the same material like the protective casing and are conjoined with it. The slips 11 are spaced at the protective casing in such a way as to assure the best cooperation between the material of the casing and the substratum—by way of friction.

The main application of the protective casing is storing and presentation of single pages, for example paper sheets of instructions, evacuation plans, lists. However, as it was proven in practice, thanks to utilizing of strong magnets the casing also allows for storing heavier documents, such as operation manuals, folders, notebooks inside of electrical cabinets. Thanks to the magnetic way of affixing it to the substratum the casing has wide application in electrical rooms, for evacuation doors, in manufacturing quarters, as a protection means for instructions placed on the machine envelopes—for example as a machine potential hazard per the EHS determination, in the operator's cabin, as a means for advertising in large stores if affixed to the bodies of the lawnmowers, sand blowers, tin garden wares, metal shelf stands of significant heights, etc.

Claims

1. A protective casing comprising two foil sheets (1, 2) of different lengths conjoined together along three edges (3, 4, 5), an upper edge (7) of the longer sheet (2) being conjoined (8, 9) with an overlap (10) creating a protective flap, and a bottom side of the longer sheet (2) being provided with slips (11) and magnets (12).
