Abstract: Disclosed is an integrated document holder that includes an arrangement to accommodate clam stapler binding for important documents. Further, the integrated document holder includes holes punched at predefined locations to be utilized for cotton thread binding, if needed. The integrated document holder includes a pen holder integrated into the filing unit. The integrated document holder includes locking mechanisms that provide added support and security to the documents contained therein. The integrated document holder is biodegradable and recyclable.

The second panel has an opening intersecting an outer edge thereof. The opening has a transverse portion oriented generally parallel to the outer edge and a leg portion oriented generally perpendicular to the outer edge.

Abstract: A shopping bag is provided that can be transformed for use as a file holder for storing documents and items such as a large envelope. The shopping bag includes a rectangle-shaped body part formed by a pair of front and back sheets, handles provided to the open side of the body, and a file part that is integrally formed with the body and that is turned into a rectangle-shaped file holder when separated from the body. The file part includes a separation line to be used for separating the file part from the body, a joint line formed inside of the separation line along the two sides of the separation line, at which the front and back sheets are joined together, and a cut-out part formed as a part of the separation line to be used as a starting point for separating the file part from the body.

Abstract: A printable blank sheet includes a sheet with a top substrate and a bottom layer, a dry lift adhesive connecting the top substrate to the bottom layer, cut lines in the sheet that extend through the top substrate and the dry lift adhesive but not through the bottom layer, and a folder pocket cut into the top substrate with a periphery of the folder pocket defined by the cut lines. The folder pocket can be removed from the sheet by separating the folder pocket and the bottom layer along the dry lift adhesive.

Each corner of the protective bag is formed into a circular-arc shape, and two base corner portions opposed to the opening part are opened without being sealed.

Abstract: An add-on pocket affixable to a folder or a stair-step, expandable file folder or other product with a front face is disclosed. The add-on pocket has a portion which is affixed to the front on the folder and a flap portion which wraps over the front. The remainder of the pocket is formed from a bottom portion and front portion which includes retaining tabs. The tabs mate to form the sidewalls of the pocket.

Abstract: A folder including a main panel having an inner face and an outer face, and a slash panel having an inner face and an outer face. The slash panel is coupled to the main panel such that the inner face of the main panel and the inner face of the slash panel form a first pocket therebetween. The folder further includes a first outer panel coupled to the main panel and forming a second pocket with the outer face of the main panel. The folder has a second outer panel coupled to the slash panel and forming a third pocket with the outer face of the slash panel. The main panel, the slash panel, the first outer panel and the second outer panel are all made of a single unitary piece of material.

Abstract: A vertical file folder system is disclosed in several embodiments. The folder (10) has a plurality of pocket segments 20, 30, 32 which are joined together at their bottom by living hinges 38 which maintain the bottoms edges 16, 116, 216 spaced apart. Port 28 also allow for expansion as do slots 60. An alternative embodiment (FIG. 9-10) show a folder which has a bottom flap 320, side flap 322 and top flap 318 which overlie each other to create a three sided boundary for papers or other contents.

Abstract: A tab system for a folder (10a), and a method of making same is disclosed. The tab is enlarged to carry more information/indicia. The visual indicia space(16a), i.e. the viewable space on the front (32a, 36a) of the folder which allows viewing of the enlarged tab is achieve without violating the overall size restrictions (40a) of the file folder. Instead, the front of the folder adjacent to the tab on the back panel, is cut away (32a,34a) to expose a greater portion of the back panel (14a) and allow an increase in visual indicia space. The remaining portion of the front panel, not adjacent to the tab may also be cut away (34a) to allow other enlarged tab files, with offset tabs,(22d, 21a) to be viewable behind the present file.

Abstract: Pocket folders for holding documents and method of manufacture are shown in various embodiments. In one embodiment, a single unitary blank is cut and folded into a double slot folder without the need to glue pieces together. The blank is cut to have adjacent panels and an extension panel cut so that they are folded one panel atop the other to form a unitary pocket folder with two pockets. In a second embodiment, a two pocket folder is formed likewise with three adjacent panels as in the first embodiment, but the extension panel is then wrapped with a back panel to create a second pocket which can be folded outwardly.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments according to the present invention relate to a file comprising a cover member with front and back cover panels that are hinged to each other for movement between open and closed positions, wherein the cover panels in the closed position define an interior space configured and dimensioned for containing a plurality of stacked papers. The cover panels may have first and second corners disposed opposite from the hinge. At least one of the cover panels may comprise a tab portion extending away from the hinge and disposed between the corners. First and second elastic retention elements may each be secured to one of the cover panels. The first and second retention elements may be disposed and configured for looping around the first and second corners of the other cover panel, respectively, in the closed position for retaining the closed position.

Abstract: A folder system including a folder having a first panel and a second panel pivotally coupled to the first panel along a pivot line. The folder further includes a spine portion positioned between the first and second panels at the pivot line, wherein said spine portion includes a hole formed therethrough. The spine portion further includes a slit extending from an outer edge of the spine portion to the hole to enable a binding device to be passed through the slit into the hole.

Cover panels (16,18) are joined along a central axis (11), at least one primary pocket is formed with a pocket panel (18a), a second pocket panel (40) is located in a primary pocket space (24) thereby subdividing the pocket space into a first pocket space between the first pocket panel and the second pocket panel and a second pocket space between the second pocket panel and one of the cover panels, the second pocket panel (40) includes an extension (50) which is folded over and affixed to the first pocket panel thereby forming a closed inner edge on the front pocket.

Abstract: A documents management system with remote location and retrieval of documents contained in file folders positioned in file drawers in a collection of file cabinets. Each document has an RFID tag containing a document identifier and the contents of the document stored in a read-only memory. Each file folder has a circuit containing a unique identifier for that folder. Each file cabinet has a control unit which searches for a specific file folder in response to receipt of a file folder request from a source. If the folder is found, each cabinet has an R.F. reader which searches for a specific document in response to receipt of a document request from the source. If the document is found, the R.F. reader extracts the document contents and transmits them to the source.

Abstract: A pocket folder with increased document capacity and method of manufacturing same is disclosed. The folder has two cover panels 14-16, joined along a longitudinal joint or score line, a pair of pocket flaps 40a-40b and a top flap 70. Top flap 70 folds along a score line 72a-72b and a midline score 74 and a plurality of parallel scores 78 to accommodate expansion. At the pockets, a v-shaped notch 52 between the pockets prevents bunching and a circular cut away 90a-90b provides greater access to the documents.

The gift card is positioned in the package between the second and third panels thereby exposing a portion of a front surface of the gift card through the cutout in the third panel and exposing a portion of a rear surface of the gift card through the cutout in the second panel, thereby partially concealing the gift card while exposing an identification marking thereon.

Abstract: A multi-page presentation folder is described that is capable of securing and displaying one or more sheets of material, such as sheets of music. One or more sheets may be secured and displayed via each panel of the multi-page presentation folder. In various embodiments, for a given number of page turns, a greater number of sheets may be displayed and/or presented. For example, in one embodiment, a multi-page presentation folder allows user to “turn a page” only once to view up to six sheets or only twice to view up to eight sheets. The folder may also provide stability to the sheets of material preventing them from sagging.

The pocket panel includes at least one binding hole formed therein. The at least one binding hole of the pocket panel is elongated to provide expansion capacity to the pocket.

The first cover and the second cover may meet at the closed side. At least one cutout portion may run from the top end to the closed side of at least one of the first cover and second cover. The cutout portion may create a plurality of dividers so that a user may organize paperwork within them.

These tabs may also be supplied in a detachable form.

In this manner, the greeting card (40) will not become separated from the container (30) during the hustle and bustle of a celebration.

Abstract: A folder provides easy access to its contents, is lockable, and keeps its locking mechanism out of the way when not in use. The folder has fold lines partway down on the front and back faces, so that the user has easy access to the folder contents. There is a gusset on the bottom edge and on the side edges from the bottom to the fold lines. The folder has an elastic member that is configured to act as a locking mechanism. In the locked position, the elastic member extends over the top edge of the folder, thereby preventing the front and back faces from being folded down and additionally preventing the folder's contents from escaping along the top edge. In the unlocked position, the elastic member extends over the side edges of the folder, and the user may optionally fold down the front and/or back faces and may access the contents through the top edge of the folder. The user can easily move the elastic member from a side edge to the top edge and back, to lock and unlock the folder.

Abstract: File folders are provided having bent hangers from which a receptacle is suspended so that the top of the receptacle is beneath a rail-engaging portion of the hangers and/or beneath a top of the rail or other supporting structure of office storage equipment. The hangers of the file folder may also be collapsible for use outside the office storage equipment. The hangers may also have a grip, or handle, for removal of the file folder from the office storage equipment.

Abstract: A stair-step, expandable file folder is disclosed, in which each pocket in the folder has the same depth, rather than the back pockets being deeper than the front pockets. The folder includes a series of dividers that form the front and back sides of the pockets of the folder. The top edges of the dividers have increasing height, from the front to the back of the folder. The dividers are folded to form the bottoms of the pockets, with the folded portions also increasing in height from the front to the back of the folder. Each divider extends downward to form the back face of a pocket, is folded forward to form the bottom face of the pocket, and is folded downward to extend toward the bottom edge of the folder. The troughs in an expandable gusset support the sides of the dividers. Above the fold portion, the divider laterally extends into one trough. Below the fold portion, the divider laterally extends into the adjacent trough toward the front of the folder.

Abstract: An integral tab 2-D or 3-D tab for a folder, and a method of making same is disclosed. The integral 2-D (flat) tab 300 is provided near the apex of the folder by cutting free/lose a portion of the existing flap material 14 of the hanging folder itself without the need for additional tabs or material being affixed. The cut creates the tab without additional material required. The 3-D tab 300 version is created adding a triangular portion 301 which is folded onto itself so that one edge surface is at an angle relative to the panels of the file folder allowing it to be read from the side and top. A perforated version allows for user selectable tab and a plurality of placements across the common edge allows the user to select the tab position.

The first and second panels may be connected to each other on three edges to define an enclosure. A media storage flap may be attached to the second panel and may be adapted to hold one or more software media. The media storage flap may be perforated with one or more perforations. Each perforation may be adapted to hold a software medium. The media storage flap may be foldable across the second panel. First and second sealer flaps may be connected to at least two edges of the first panel. The first and second sealer flaps may be adapted to fold over and attach to the enclosure and the media storage flap, thereby holding the media storage flap adjacent to and substantially coplanar with the second panel.

Abstract: A tabbing apparatus is provided that includes a pocket and a tab element disposed within the pocket in a retracted position. The tab element includes an indexing segment configured for protruding from the pocket in an extended position as a tab and for being received within the pocket in the retracted position, an anchor portion attached to the pocket, and an intermediate portion connecting the anchor portion and indexing segment and configured for folding to allow the indexing segment to move between the retracted position and the extended position. The indexing segment is configured for displaying writing thereon for indexing a file.

Abstract: A method for increasing the long term storageability of a cellulosic paper or paperboard product. The method includes providing a paper or paperboard product made from cellulosic fibers having a basis weight ranging from about 80 to about 300 pounds per 3000 square feet. A holdout material is applied to at least one surface of the paper or paperboard product. The web is then coated with an ink receptive material selected from the group consisting of an aqueous acrylic polymer coating material, an aqueous biocidal agent and a combination of aqueous acrylic polymer coating material and aqueous biocidal agent and dried to provide a paper or paperboard product having enhanced long term storageability. Webs made according to the invention are suitable for making file folders which exhibit improve long term storageability by resisting damage from moisture and/or biological activity.

Abstract: A stair-step, expandable file folder is disclosed, in which each pocket in the folder has the same depth, rather than the back pockets being deeper than the front pockets. The folder is formed from a group of attached dividers. Each divider in the group is generally planar and includes two horizontal folds near a bottom edge of the divider. The divider area above the folds forms a wall of a pocket. The divider area between the folds extends to an adjacent divider and forms the bottom of the pocket. The divider area below the folds is attached to the adjacent divider. The adjacent divider forms an opposing wall of the pocket. When the group of dividers is compressed front-to-back, the dividers all have the same lateral footprint. When the group is expanded front-to-back, the dividers translate vertically, so that the tops of the dividers are all visible simultaneously from the front of the folder.

Abstract: A file folder has a faceplate, at least a snap-type combined plate and snap holes. The snap-type combined plate is snapped securely onto a local position of the faceplate. The snap-type combined plate has a first and a second snapping plate and coupling portion. The first and second abutting surfaces are formed separately on the first and second snapping plates for abutting onto two side surfaces of the faceplate. The first and second snapping plates are aligned correspondingly. The coupling portion allows secure coupling of the first and second snapping plates. Of which, the faceplate and snap-type combined plate are made of different materials. On the whole, the file folder of the present invention provides a protective effect, extends the service life and improves the assembly or recycling efficiency with better industrial benefits and applicability.

The pocket panels can have first edge portions that define openings to the pockets, and the first edge portions can be staggered. The labeling members can extend beyond papers held in the pockets and can comprise tabs that can be staggered from each other.

Abstract: A sleeve for holding and display a document is provided and a method of using the sleeve is described. The sleeve can include a back wall having a top, two opposing sides and a bottom. The sleeve can be attached to a window of a vehicle so that an open-topped receptacle suitable for receiving documents is formed by the back wall, sides walls, bottom wall and the window. Document can be inserted into the receptacle with information on the document facing towards the window so that the information can be read from outside the vehicle.
