A hand carried firearm that for safety purposes, has no trigger on the firearm. A shooter has to steady his aim by controlling his breathing, and taking care to squeeze not jerk the trigger in order to hit his target. A remote trigger allows a shooter to steady only his gun hand, because motion at the remote trigger doesn't affect aim.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Hand carried semi-automatic or automatic firearms, pistols or rifles commonly have a manual trigger. A shooter has to steady his aim by controlling his breathing, and by taking care to squeeze not jerk the trigger in order to hit his target. A gun wrested away from an owner has often been turned on the owner. Many patents have been issued to protect against these eventualities.

OBJECTS AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Objects and summary of the invention is realized in a hand carried firearm that for safety purposes, has no trigger on the firearm. A shooter has to steady his aim by controlling his breathing, and taking care to squeeze not jerk the trigger in order to hit his target. A remote trigger requires a shooter to steady only his gun hand, because motion at the remote trigger doesn't affect aim.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a representation of a pistol containing a decrypting transceiver and electro-mechanical sear device that releases the hammer or firing pin and two different remote triggering transmitters.

FIG. 2 is a representation of a rifle containing a decrypting transceiver and electro-mechanical sear device that releases the hammer or firing pin and two different remote triggering transmitters.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

This embodiment is intended as a retrofit, or new design for any specific hand carried, trigger operated rifle (FIG. 2) or pistol (FIG. 1). A remote trigger requires a shooter to steady only his gun hand, because motion at the remote trigger doesn't affect aim. This invention provides a remote trigger/transmitter transmitting a wireless, encrypted secure signal to a transceiver mounted in place of the trigger apparatus on the gun, which also contains an electromechanical actuator for the sear that releases the firing pin or the hammer. Thereby, when the weak hand (Or hand not carrying the weapon) or even a nearby second party actuates the remote trigger, an encrypted firing signal is translated wirelessly to the firearm.

Embodiment 1

A pistol of any Manufacture (FIG. 1):

The pistol is retrofitted or manufactured with a trigger replaced by a transceiver/electromechanical actuator (popout 1 showing embedded battery) tripping the sear that releases the firing pin or hammer (The link from actuator to sear is embedded in gun frame and varies with manufacturer.). The transceiver acts upon receiving a firing signal from a remote wireless/trigger transmitter (2 or 3) to fire the pistol.

Embodiment 2

A Hand Carried Rifle of any Manufacture (FIG. 2):

The rifle is retrofitted or manufactured with a trigger replaced by a transceiver/electromechanical actuator (popout 4) tripping the sear that releases the firing pin or hammer. The transceiver acts upon receiving a firing signal from a remote wireless trigger/transmitter (5 or 6) to fire the rifle.

3. A firearm system comprising:

a hand-carried firearm that has no user-operated mechanical trigger, the firearm incorporating a transceiver and a firing actuator, the firing actuator being responsive to a firing signal from the transceiver for effecting firing of the firearm;
a manually operable remote sending unit for emitting an encrypted wireless signal in response to manipulation by an operator of the sending unit; and wherein the transceiver produces the firing signal that effects firing of the firearm in response to the encrypted wireless signal.

4. A method of retrofitting a hand-carried fire arm provided with a user-operated mechanical trigger for effecting firing of the firearm, the method comprising:

removing the mechanical trigger;
inserting, in place of the removed mechanical trigger, a transceiver and a firing actuator, the firing actuator being responsive to a firing signal from the transceiver for effecting firing of the firearm; and
establishing an encrypted wireless coupling of the transceiver to a manually operable remote sending unit, for reception by the transceiver of an encrypted signal from the remote sending unit that produces the firing signal, whereby an operator of the remote sending unit can effect firing of the firearm by manipulating the remote sending unit to cause the remote sending unit to emit the encrypted signal.
