1. U.S. provisional patent application 61/245,014, entitled “A NOVEL METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ARTICLES MADE WITH ALUMINUM PULL TABS”, naming Violeta C. Moffat as inventor, filed Sep. 23, 2010

BACKGROUND

1. Field of Use

These teachings relate generally to a novelty purse or other articles of manufactured accessories that that can be hand carried or used as a shoulder bag.

2. Description of Prior Art (Background)

In general, in today's world, smart fashion dictates that the wardrobe must include some items that are practical, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally friendly. Women, in particular, like something that appears to be new and exciting without having the cost burden of a imported fashion. The purses and other articles of manufacture as described herein are practical, useful and demonstrate environmentally friendly recycling of aluminum pull tabs.

Purses with aluminum pull tabs that are crocheted such as shown in U.S. Pat. No. D554,857 leave pull tabs with exposed outwardly sticking edges. In addition crocheted pull tabs may not have the structural integrity necessary for larger handbags that are often filled to capacity; e.g., cell phones, mini computers, makeup kits, keys, wallets, etc.

In addition, purses with aluminum pull tabs that are crocheted such as shown in U.S. Pat. No. D554,857 are limited to the minimal aesthetics provided by the crochet yarn, which are not sufficient in today's highly fashion conscious world.

The invention accordingly includes the features properties and the relation of components which are exemplified in the following detailed disclosure and the scope of the application of which will be indicated in the appended claims.

For a fuller understanding of the nature and objects of the invention reference should be made to the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF SUMMARY

The foregoing and other problems are overcome, and other advantages are realized, in accordance with the presently preferred embodiments of these teachings.

In accordance with one embodiment of the invention a novel method for manufacturing articles made with aluminum pull tabs such as a woman's purse is provided.

The invention is also directed towards structural integrity of the novel articles constructed with aluminum pull tabs.

In accordance with another embodiment of the present invention the novel articles made with aluminum pull tabs such as a woman's purse are individually customizable to reflect the owner's fashion style and/or sponsor advertising.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The subject matter which is regarded as the invention is particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the claims at the conclusion of the specification. The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of the invention are apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in which:

FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic view that illustrates the relationship construction of the pull tabs and weaving material in accordance with the invention shown in FIG. 5;

FIG. 2 is a diagrammatic view that illustrates the sides and bottom relationship construction of a sub-section of pull tabs and weaving material in accordance with the invention shown in FIG. 5;

FIG. 3 is a diagrammatic view that illustrates the relationship construction of three sub-sections of pull tabs and weaving material as shown in FIG. 2;

FIG. 4 is a diagrammatic view that illustrates the relationship construction of multiple sub-sections of pull tabs and weaving material in accordance with the invention shown in FIG. 3;

FIG. 4A is diagrammatic view that illustrates a lining; and

FIG. 5 is a pictorial representation of a novel article made with aluminum pull tabs in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a diagrammatic view that illustrates the relationship construction of the pull tabs and weaving material in accordance with the invention shown in FIG. 5. It will be appreciated that the container may be any suitable container such as, for example, a woman's purse, a pocketbook, a cell phone holder. In general, hold the aluminum pull-tabs 10 with the right sides facing up and then put the other tab 10A on top of it. Then weave the fabric ribbon 12 underneath the pull-tab, then over the two holes of the pull-tabs continuously in the same direction until you reach the adequate size for your purse. Now, once you have reached the edge you should be viewing the oval hole 10B on the pull-tab. It will be understood that the pull tabs while generally aluminum may be any suitable pull tab.

Referring also to FIG. 2 there is shown a diagrammatic view that illustrates the sides and bottom relationship construction of a sub-section 26 of pull tabs and weaving material in accordance with the invention shown in FIG. 5. Continue weaving the pull tabs as described herein and as shown in FIG. 1 for the desired height size for the sides 20, 24 and bottom width 22.

Referring also to FIG. 3 there is shown a diagrammatic view that illustrates the relationship construction of three sub-sections of pull tabs 26A, 26B, 26C and weaving material 12A, 12B, 12C as shown in FIG. 2. Thread the ribbon 12D underneath ribbons 12A, 12B, and 12C as shown in FIG. 3. Use the same procedure for the backside (not shown). It will be appreciated that any suitable ribbon or material may be used. For example, suitable ribbon may include, but not limited to, decorative ribbon, advertising imprinted ribbon, cloth ribbon, nylon or other man made material ribbon, waterproof ribbon, fireproof ribbon, and/or ribbon with desired tensile or breaking strength.

Referring also to FIG. 4 there is shown a diagrammatic view that illustrates the sides and bottom relationship construction of multiple sub-sections of pull tabs and weaving material in accordance with the invention shown in FIG. 3. Also shown in FIG. 4 is the backside weave 41 described in paragraph 19. For the container lining, FIG. 4A, any suitable material, such as silk, cotton or satin may be used. These fabrics work well, especially when sewing accessories and pockets into the purse. To measure how much liner, FIG. 4A, is needed for purse; lay the weaved pull-tabs on top of the fabric and cut to desired size. A similar procedure is followed for the side weaved pull-tabs. It will be appreciated that the sides (not shown) are constructed in a similar fashion as the sides and bottom. Attach the sides of the fabric liner to the weaved pull tabs to form the purse interior.

Referring also to FIG. 5, there is shown a pictorial representation of a novel article made with aluminum pull tabs in accordance with the present invention. It will be appreciated that handle 51 is constructed in a similar fashion as sides and bottom as shown in FIG. 1 thru FIG. 4. Also shown is fastener 12AA. It will be appreciated that fastener 12AA may be any suitable fastener such as, for example, a zipper, or a hook-and-loop fastener.

It should be understood that the foregoing description is only illustrative of the invention. Thus, various alternatives and modifications can be devised by those skilled in the art without departing from the invention.
