SAFETY SUPPORT FOR CURTAIN
A safety support for a curtain comprises a supporting base having a receiving unit set at one side of the supporting base, and a supporting plate coupling to one side of the supporting base, wherein the supporting plate comprises a connecting unit which is coupled to the receiving unit of the supporting base, and an aperture. The safety support is constructed in such that when the external force exerted on the safety support of the curtain exceeds a pre-determined safety weight setting, the connecting unit of the supporting plate will disconnect immediately from the receiving unit of the supporting base so that the curtain will be detached from the supporting plate of the safety support so that the child is protected from suspension from the curtain.

The present invention relates to a safety support for a curtain, and more particularly to a safety structure for the curtain that can protect the safety of the children at homes.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe conventional curtain, such as Roman curtain, comprises an upper bar, a piece of curtain fabric body connecting to the upper bar and a control rope set, which controls the rising and descending of the curtain. The curtain fabric body can comprise a plurality of curtain fabric portions constructed into a big piece of curtain body, and those curtain fabric portions are connected next to each other through the holes and the ropes positioned at both side of the curtain fabric portions, so that the length of the whole curtain body can be controlled by the control rope set that is attached to at the bottom part of the ropes of the curtain fabric body to rise or descend the curtain.
Since curtain is the most common furniture found in the households, children are more likely to play with curtain than other furniture due to their curiosity or playfulness nature. Curtain is normally suspended or hanged at the window frame indoor, so when a child plays with the ropes or the control rope set of the curtain, there is a great chance that the child will be tangled or suspended by the ropes, such as his neck, which can cause a life-threatening harm to the child. Therefore, there is an urgent need to provide a safety measure for the curtain in order to protect the safety of the children at home.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of the foregoing shortcomings of the conventional curtain design, the prevent invention provides a safety support for a curtain that can protect the safety of the child.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a safety support that can be installed easily and protect the safety of the children at homes.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a safety support that can prevent the child from suspension by the curtain' ropes or the control rope set.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a safety support utilizing the upper bar of the curtain, which is coupled to a support plate of the safety support, to be disengaged from a supporting base of the safety support when the external force exerted on the safety support of the curtain exceeds a pre-determined safety weight setting. In other words, a connecting unit of the supporting plate is disconnected immediately from a receiving unit of the supporting base so the curtain will be detached from the supporting plate of the safety support to prevent the child from suspension.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a safety support to protect the safety of the child by using its arc-shaped opening design to dislocate the upper bar of the curtain from the supporting plate of the safety support.
The safety support of the present invention comprises supporting base having a receiving unit provided at one side of the supporting base, and a supporting plate coupling to one side of the supporting base, wherein the supporting plate comprises a connecting unit which is coupled to the receiving unit of the supporting base, and an aperture.
These features and advantages of the present invention will become more fully apparent from the following description and appended claims, or may be learned by the practice of the invention as set forth thereinafter.
In order for the advantages of the invention to be readily understood, a more particular description of the invention briefly described above will be rendered by reference to specific embodiments that are illustrated in the appended drawings. The supporting base 1 comprises a horizontal plate 11, a vertical plate 12 which is perpendicularly attached to one side of the horizontal plate 11, and an L-shaped plate 13, which is attached perpendicularly to another side of the vertical plate 12. The horizontal plate 11, the vertical plate 12 and the L-shaped plate 13 of the supporting base 1 can be fabricated either in one piece molding or separately. A receiving unit 131 is provided at one side of the L-shaped plate 13 for coupling the supporting plate 2 to the supporting base 1, and fixed holes 121 are provided at the vertical plate 12 for mounting the supporting base 1.
The supporting plate 2 is coupling to one side of the L-shaped plate 13 of the supporting base 1 via the receiving unit 131. A connecting unit 21 is provided at an L-shaped section of the supporting plate 2 for coupling to the receiving unit 131 of the supporting base 1. The connecting unit 21 comprises a flexible plate 211 and a protrusion 212. An aperture 22 is provided at the supporting plate 2, wherein the aperture 22 can be designed as a circular shaped hole.
Refer to
The safety support of the present invention is designed to protect the safety of the children at homes. The safety support is specifically constructed to support a specific weight, which is also called the safety weight, when the actual weight exceeds the pre-determined safety weight, the connecting unit 21 will be detached easily and immediately from the receiving unit 131.
The safety support of the present invention is designed to protect the safety of the children indoor and to prevent the child from suspension on the curtain or ropes. The safety support is constructed in such that when the external force exerted on the safety support of the curtain exceeds the pre-determined safety weight setting, the connecting unit 21 of the supporting plate 2 will disconnect immediately from the receiving unit 131 of the supporting base 1 or the upper bar 31 of the curtain 3 to be pulled out from the arc-shaped opening 221a of the aperture 22a immediately to cause the curtain 3 detaching from the supporting plate 2a of the safety support so that the child is protected from suspension by the curtain 3 or the ropes 32, 33.
Thus, while the present invention has been fully described above with particularity and detail in connection with what is presently deemed to be the most practical and preferred embodiment of the invention, it will be apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art that numerous modifications, including, but not limited to, variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use may be made, without departing from the principles and concepts of the invention as set forth in the claims.
