Patent number: 6213437Abstract: A bracket assembly for supporting one or more curtain strips includes an elongated rod; a first bracket having a slot therein for supporting one end of the rod; a second bracket having means therein for supporting an opposite end of the rod. The first bracket has at least two fastener holes therein, and the rod has a through hole at one end thereof perpendicular to an axis of the rod. The through hole is alignable with one of the fastener holes so that a fastener may extend through the through hole and one of the fastener holes to thereby lock the rod to the one bracket.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1999Date of Patent: April 10, 2001Inventor: George Robbins

Patent number: 6202967Abstract: An improved bracket and headrail assembly is provided. The bracket is secured to a structure, such as a window casing or ceiling, and comprises a vertical back member and a depending forwardly extending horizontal top leg. The vertical member has a first engagement member for engaging and securing the headrail. The headrail has a front vertical portion that leads to a top end and a depending horizontal member that is designed to underly the top leg of the bracket when assembled. The top horizontal member has a second engagement member that selectively engages the first engaging member of the bracket. The headrail also has a lifting mechanism so that, as the two pieces are assembled, the top of the vertical headrail portion is raised into a substantially flush relationship with the ceiling.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2000Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Assignee: RollEase, Inc.Inventor: Richard R. Patent number: 6167939Abstract: The no-sew window drapery system comprises tucking fabric into a rod. The rod has a profile that creates an opening across the entire length and sufficient space in the interior to accept the fabric. The rod may additionally incorporate a locking system to secure the fabric ends inside the rod. The fabric employed is fed into the opening created by the profile, arranged into the style desired and secured into place. Because of the characteristics of the plastic, and the close-fit force exerted on the fabric, the result is to provide a rod which holds the fabric in place. Yet it is easy to install the fabric without the need for any sewing and still give the fabric a customized look.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1999Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Inventor: Dana A. Patent number: 6131867Abstract: A device for mounting a wide variety of different window dressings is described. The device is intended to use conventional mounting brackets to mount the window dressing without the necessity of providing holes to mount the same in the face of the window molding or frame. The device includes either a corner or linear mounting plate which, respectively, may be used either on the right hand or left hand corner, or horizontally or vertically on the frame. Each plate is U-shaped in cross-section and intended to cover the sides and front of the window frame or molding or L-shaped to cover a portion. In one embodiment the portion covering the face can be laterally adjustable. Another embodiment provides flanges for mounting directly on the wall surrounding the window when no molding is present. The front face of the plate may be provided with a plurality of mutually spaced dimensioned cut-outs.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1997Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Inventor: Paul P. Mallek
