IRONING BOARD

An ironing board relates to auxiliary tooling for ironing. The ironing board has a thin plate with two opposite long edges and two opposite short edges. The first short edge has a V-shaped notch. A long groove is disposed on the second short edge, close to the first long edge. The thin plate width is slightly smaller than the shirt pocket width. The distance from the long groove to the second long edge is smaller than the shirt cuff width. When inserting the V-shaped notch beneath the shirt collar, the collar is easily ironed with an iron or garment steamer. When inserting the short edge corresponding to the V-shaped notch into the shirt pocket, the pocket is easily ironed with an iron or garment steamer. When inserting the shirt cuff between the long groove and the second long edge, the cuff is easily ironed with an iron or garment steamer.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an auxiliary tooling for ironing.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The existing ironing board is a slender trapezoidal board equipped with a holding shelf. The total length of the trapezoidal board is about 1 meter, its largest width is about 30 centimeters, its thickness is about 2 centimeters. The size of this kind of ironing board is large, so it is suitable as backing of the iron for ironing the coats and trousers. However, it will be difficult for the user to iron the collar, cuff and the pocket of the shirt which most likely wrinkle by using the above mentioned ironing board. In another solution, the garment steamer is applied, wherein the shirt is hanged, so there will have no suitable backing to support the collar, cuff and pocket of the shirt, and it will be more difficult to iron.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is to provide an ironing board as a backing for ironing the collar, cuff and pocket of the shirt.

The technical solution of the present invention is: an ironing board, which has a thin plate with a first long edge, a second long edge, a first short edge, a second short edge, said first short edge has a V-shaped notch, a long groove which close to the first long edge is disposed on the second short edge; the width of said thin plate is slightly smaller than the width of the pocket of the shirt; the distance from said long groove to the second long edge is smaller than the width of the cuff of the shirt. When the V-shaped notch of said ironing board is inserted beneath the collar of the shirt, the collar will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer. When the short edge which is opposite to the V-shaped notch is inserted into the pocket of the shirt, the pocket will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer. When the cuff of the shirt is inserted between the long groove and the second long edge, the cuff will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer.

In a preferred embodiment: said thin plate has an opening for the finger to be inserted into. When the user put his forefinger into said opening, and uses his thumb and middle finger to clamp the two long edges of said thin plate, said ironing board will be conveniently moved.

Said opening is close to the bottom of the V-shaped notch. The position of the opening is adapted to the structure of the human hand, so it will be more flexible for holding and moving said ironing board.

Two protruding portions respectively outward extend from said two long edges and close to the V-shaped notch. Thereby the appearance of said ironing board is more beautiful, further the strength of the two sides of said V-shaped notch will be promoted, so said ironing board is more durable.

The ironing board of the present invention applies a thin plate as a backing to support the three portions of the shirt which are the most difficult to be dealt with, it is suitable to be ironed with the iron and the garment steamer, it has a fine applicability. The weight of the ironing board is light, it is portable and convenient for operating; it is easily to be manufactured and has a low cost. Thereby it is easily to be promoted for application and has a promising market prospect.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

Embodiment 1

The structure of a preferred embodiment of the ironing board of the present invention is showed in FIG. l and FIG. 2. Said ironing board is a thin plate 11, said thin plate 11 has a first long edge, a second long edge and a first short edge, a second short edge, the short edge of the upper part of the thin plate 11 has a V-shaped notch 12, there are two protruding portions 15 which are close to the V-shaped notch 12 and respectively extending outward from the two long edges of the thin plate 11. The thin plate 11 has a long groove 13 from the short edge of the lower part of the thin plate 11 and close to the long edge of the left side of the thin plate 11; the bottom of the thin plate 11 which is close to the V-shaped notch 12 has an opening 14 for the finger to be inserted into.

The width of said thin plate 11 is slightly smaller than the width of the pocket of the shirt; the distance from the long groove 13 of the thin plate 11 to the long edge of the right side of the thin plate is smaller than the width of the cuff of the shirt.

In the operation, as showed in FIG. 3, when inserting the V-shaped notch 12 of the thin plate 11 beneath the collar of the shirt, the collar will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer.

As showed in FIG. 4, the short edge of the lower part of the thin plate 11 is inserted into the bottom of the pocket of the shirt, the pocket will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer.

As showed in FIG. 5, the cuff of the shirt is inserted between the long groove 13 of the thin plate 11 and the long edge of the right side of the thin plate 11, the pocket will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer.

The user puts his forefinger into the opening 14 of the thin plate 11, and his thumb and middle finger clamp the long edges of the two sides of the thin plate 11, so said ironing board will be conveniently moved.

Embodiment 2

A simplified structure of the ironing board of the present invention is showed in FIG. 6. Said ironing board is a rectangular thin plate 11′. Said rectangular thin plate 11′ has a first long edge, a second long edge and a first short edge, a second short edge, the short edge of the upper part of the thin film 11′ has a V-shaped notch 12′, the thin film 11′ has a long groove 13′ from the short edge of the lower part of the thin plate 11′ and close to the long edge of the left side of the thin plate 11′.

The width of said thin plate 11′ is slightly smaller than the width of the pocket of the shirt; the distance from the long groove 13′ of the thin plate 11′ to the long edge of the right side of the thin plate is smaller than the width of the cuff of the shirt.

In the operation, as showed in FIG. 7, when inserting the V-shaped notch 12′ of the thin plate 11′ beneath the collar of the shirt, the collar will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer.

As showed in FIG. 8, when inserting the short edge of the lower part of the thin plate 11′ into the bottom of the pocket of the shirt, the pocket will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer.

As showed in FIG. 9, when inserting the cuff of the shirt between the long groove 13′ of the thin plate 11′ and the long edge of the right side of the thin plate 11′, the cuff will be easily ironed with the iron or the garment steamer.

Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments thereof for carrying out the invention, it is apparent to those skilled in the art that a variety of modifications and changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention which is intended to be defined by the appended claims.
