CONTAINER

This invention relates to a container comprising a container body and a lid body. When the lid body is covered on the container body, a gap is formed between the peripheral edge of the lid body and the upper peripheral edge of the container body by providing an upturning portion on the peripheral edge of the lid body or a downturning portion on the upper peripheral edge of the container body. The gap is formed in such a manner that users can apply a force on the peripheral edge of the lid body and the upper peripheral edge of the container body so as to separate the container body and the lid body apart.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a container, more particularly to a container enabling to separate smoothly a container body and a lid body, which are covered together, in such a manner that the liquid material contained within the container is avoided from splashing out.

2. Brief Description of the Prior Art

Ordinary container, as shown in FIG. 1, is formed by a container body (1) having an opening and a lid body (2) matching with the container body (1). The edge of the container body (1) has a flange (11), while the edge of the lid body (2) is formed with a annular side portion (21) extending downward. Further, an annular groove (22) matching with the flange (11) is formed on the bottom portion near the annular side portion (21). When the lid body (2) is covered on the container body (1), the flange (11) of the container body (1) is inserted into the annular groove (22).

However, when the lid body (2) covered on the container body (1) is to be removed therefrom, it is often difficult to open the lid body (2) due to the close contact between the annular side portion (21) of the lid body (2) and the peripheral wall of the container body (1). User is unable to pinch the annular side portion (21) with his fingers so as to apply a force. Especially, when a force is applied to an undue extent, the liquid material contained within the container body (1) might have the possibility to be splashed out. If the liquid material is too hot to touch, there might be a danger of scalding user. In view of the disadvantage of endangering users, conventional container does need a further improvement on the structure thereof.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The object of this invention is to provide a container in which a gap is present between a container body and a lid body after both are combined together, so that users are able to pinch either one peripheral edge of the container body and the lid body with their fingers entering into the gap and to apply a force so as to separate the lid body and the container body apart. The container of this design certainly can prevent the liquid material contained within the container body from splashing out.

In order to achieve above object, this invention provides a container comprising a container body and a lid body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The objects, the technical contents and the expected effectiveness of the present invention will become more apparent from the detailed description of the preferred embodiment in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

Referring to FIGS. 2 to 4, the container of the present invention comprises a container body (3) and a lid body (4).

The container body (3) and the lid body (4) have corresponding configuration of circular object as shown in FIG. 2, or of elliptical object as shown in FIG. 3, or of rectangular object as shown in FIG. 4. In each embodiment, the container body (3) has a cavity (31), an annular groove (33) being formed on upper face (32) of the peripheral edge of the cavity (31). The lid body (4) is formed with a ridge (41) matching with the annular groove (33) on a place near the outmost peripheral edge of the bottom face of the lid body (4). When the lid body (4) is covered on the container body (3), the ridge (41) can be fitted into the annular groove (33) of the container body (3). The main characteristic of the present invention lies in that an upturning portion (42) is formed on the peripheral edge outside the ridge (41) of the lid body (4), or a downturning portion (34) is provided on the peripheral edge outside of the annular groove (33) of the container body (3). When the lid body (4) is covered on the container body (3), a gap (5) is formed either between the upturning portion (42) and the outside peripheral edge on the upper face (32) of the container body (3), or between the downturning portion (34) and the outside peripheral edge of the lid body (4).

In this way, when the lid body (4) covered on the container body (3) is to be removed therefrom, as shown in FIG. 6, user pinchs either the upturning portion (42) provided on the peripheral edge outside the ridge (41) of the lid body (4) or the downturning portion (34) provided on the peripheral edge outside of the annular groove (33) of the container body (3) with two fingers of one hand, and hold the container body (3) or the lid body (4) with the other hand, and apply a force so that the lid body (4) and the container body (3) can be separated apart smoothly.

The container of the present invention provides the simplicity and convenience in separation operation during the force application between the container body (3) and the lid body (4) by the abovementioned design, in such a manner that the liquid material contained within the container body (3) is certainly prevented from splashing out.
