Abstract: A coupling device is disclosed for coupling a container to a closure. The container has a container sidewall extending between a first container end and a second container end. A container undercut is defined in an outer surface of the container sidewall. The closure has a closure sidewall extending between a first closure end and a second closure end. A closure outer sidewall is located radially outward from the closure sidewall and defines a slot between the closure sidewall and the closure outer sidewall. The second container end is received within the slot of the closure. A major projection and a major depression are located between the second container end and the slot of the closure cooperating for securing the closure to the container. A minor projection and a minor depression located between the container sidewall and the closure sidewall for cooperating for additionally securing the closure to the container.

Abstract: A container system includes a container having a plurality of sidewalls and a rim extending from the sidewalls at a top of the container. The rim of the container includes a first sealing part and a second sealing part. Parts of the rim extend along arcs as viewed from above the container. The container system also includes a lid for sealing the container, with the lid having a rim that includes a first sealing part that is configured to contact the first sealing part of the rim of the container to form a first sealing area, and a second sealing part that is configured to contact the second sealing part of the rim of the container to form a second sealing area. Parts of the rim of the lid extend along arcs as viewed from above the lid. The container may be tightly sealed by the lid.

Abstract: A container includes a base and a shell rotatably coupled. The shell defines an aperture and a cradle is rotatably mounted therein. The top of the cradle holds an object and the cradle is pivotable between presentation and storage positions. An actuatable member is movable to open or occlude the aperture. Rotation of the base relative to the shell, in a first direction, drives the actuatable member towards an open position and pivots the cradle towards the presentation position, and rotation in a second direction drives the actuatable member towards a closed position and pivots the cradle towards the storage position. A lever pin on the cradle extends through a C-slot of an inner mechanism rotating with the base to a channel on the shell. Rotation between the base and shell causes the channel to drive the lever pin to different ends of the C-slot to thereby pivot the cradle.

Abstract: A bottle-top adapter is an apparatus that allows a user to retain a bottle cap for repeated use. The apparatus has a grip that extends beyond the width of the bottle cap retaining features, thus allowing enhanced leverage during use. A writable surface connected to the top of the gripping feature allows a user to indicate the owner and contents of the disposable bottle. A user may place or press a bottle cap into the cap-retaining segment of the apparatus to secure the bottle cap in place during use. The user may then grasp the grip, or other exposed features, and twist to open or close the disposable bottle. Upon completion, the user may remove the bottle cap from the cap-retaining segment of the apparatus to prepare the apparatus for subsequent usage upon another disposable bottle cap. Consequently, the apparatus may help in the reuse of disposable bottle caps.

Abstract: A food carrying system comprises a plurality of food service items including at least one container and optionally one or more plates, drink carriers, and/or trays. At least one of the food service items includes opposing strap openings formed in an edge, encircling flange, or opposed flange handles thereof. A support band encircles the stack, passing through the strap openings, and ends thereof are affixed together to stabilize the stack and in embodiments providing a hand-hold for carrying the stack. The band can further extend through a strap opening provided in a separate handle, so that the stack can be carried using the handle. Strap openings can be provided on lids and/or bases of the containers. Strap openings can be closed ovals, or can be C-shaped, having open outer edges. Band ends can be joined by adhesive, hook-and-loop, knot tying, stapling, snaps, buttons, etc.

Abstract: A food container has a container bottom and a container lid. The container bottom has a base and walls upstanding from the base to define a container bottom interior. The container lid has a top cover and side edges and the top cover overlies the base when the lid is in closed connection with the bottom. The top cover includes an elastically deformable portion and an inelastic portion. Each of the elastically deformable portion and the inelastic portion overlies different portions of the base when the lid is in closed connection with the bottom. The elastically deformable portion facilitates accommodation of an item within the container bottom interior that rests on the base that underlies the elastically deformable portion and that extends into contact with the elastically deformable portion as the lid is shifted into closed connection with the bottom by deforming elastically outwardly away from the base.

Abstract: Lid caps outfit lid assemblies thereby providing lid-cap combinations for beverage cans. The lid assemblies include a lid rim portion, a lid capping plate, and a can opener element and are attached to a lower can body for forming a beverage can. The lid caps include a cap plate centrally located relative to an outer cap periphery. A cap groove is configured to firstly attach the lid cap to the lid assembly by mated engagement, and may include a pivot structure for providing a can-opening access aperture and closing the can-opening access aperture. In certain embodiments, the cap plate includes a fastener-letting aperture. The can opener element is attached to the lid capping plate via a fastener as extended through the fastener-letting aperture thereby sandwiching the cap plate intermediate the can opener element and the lid capping plate for secondly attaching the lid cap to the lid assembly.

The cap has a housing in which a plurality of grooves alternating with ribs are formed in an inner circumferential surface thereof at equiangular intervals around a cylindrical axis, and inside the housing are disposed a push-button plunger having protrusions formed on the outer peripheral surface that slide along inside the grooves, a ratchet having sloped protrusions on the outer circumference, an inner lid having tabs on the peripheral wall, an elastic member for urging the ratchet upward, and a container body in which a locking portion is formed on the outer circumference of a neck of the container body.

Abstract: A comestible gelatin capsule 10 for holding a substance in hermetic isolation includes a capsule body 12, a diaphragm 14 located within the capsule body and an end cap 16. Overlapping open end regions of walls 22 and 28 of the capsule body 12 and of the diaphragm 14, respectively, are fused to one another in a fusion welding process wherein the end regions undergo partial phase change so as to form a circumferential fused homogeneous sealing zone 36. The overlapping end regions are bent inwardly in the fusion welding process such that a portion of the wall 22 extends inwardly across a portion of the wall 28 thereby restricting axial movement of the capsule body and the diaphragm relative to one another forming a stable robust and effective hermetic seal.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for covering containers are disclosed herein. Embodiments thereof include a cover member, a support assembly, and a retainer assembly. The cover member having each of top and bottom edges and first and second lateral sides, together defining a cover member body having upper, middle, and lower portions. The cover member is configured both to be supported by a container and to adjustably wrap around at least a portion of the container to conceal the portion from a point of view. The support assembly is configured both to removably attach the cover member to the container and to adjust a vertical position of the cover member relative to the container, thereby positioning the cover member at the container, allowing adjustment of the cover member's tautness around the container. The retainer assembly is configured to secure and to adjust and maintain the cover member's tautness around the container.

Abstract: A multi phase soft gelatin dosage form comprising at least one preformed solid dosage form and at least one liquid fill phase. The multi phase soft gelatin dosage forms of the present invention are especially useful to combine at least one solid dosage form and at least one liquid phase for single ingestion. Method and apparatus for manufacturing the multi phase soft gelatin dosage forms are also described. The solid phase, liquid phase or coatings may comprise active pharmaceutical ingredients, nutraceuticals, nutritional supplements, therapeutic substances, functional excipients or combinations thereof.

Abstract: A lid device for a beverage cup. The lid is a multi-component annular structure with an outer ring of rigid material that attaches to the cup. Inside the outer ring is an inner flexible material, often with a rigid or flexible central structure with an opening for a drinking straw. In an absence of applied force, this opening (and the straw) will be held substantially perpendicular to the top of the central structure and lid. The inner flexible material is selected to deform easily under mild hand pressure (e.g. 5 Newtons or less), and thus when the user applies force to the straw, the inner flexible material distorts and bends allowing the user to more easily move the straw around and mix the contents of the drink.

Abstract: Packages for the stable display and storage of foodstuffs. Re-closeable foodstuff package are provided that include a container and a lid. The lid has a base with three feet. The feet support the package when placed horizontally. One of the feet forms a lip in the base of the container that provides stability to the package when it is displayed in a near-vertical position. Additionally, the lip allows the packages to be stacked stably while in a horizontal position to allow for easy shipping of quantities of the packages to stores for sale.

Abstract: A lid for securing to the brim of a container, the lid including a container closure having a disk shaped member with a periphery for mating with the brim of the container. The periphery includes annular inner and outer side walls with at least one annular rib disposed on each of the inner and outer side walls. The ribs of the annular walls form a gripping area to secure the lid to the container for preventing leaks and accidental spillage. A top wall interconnects the inner and outer side walls and includes visual cues for viewing the brim of the container when the lid is affixed to the brim. The lid additionally includes a pronounced wedge shaped sipping spout projecting upwards from the container closure. The container closure includes a circular indented channel for stacking one lid covered cup over another with additional stability provided by the sipping spout.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a waterproof box capable of improving waterproof performance and workability, and space-saving. When high-pressure washing is performed, washing water injected toward the waterproof box hits a peripheral wall of a box main body, and then washing water is increased along the peripheral wall. Since the increased washing water hits a lower surface of a first waterproof portion of a main body side waterproof structure, some force of the water is reduced. Furthermore, a part of the increase washing water passes through a space arranged inside of a wall upward.

Abstract: A container cover includes a cover plate, an annular frame and an annular gasket. The frame includes an annular surrounding wall and an annular flange. The surrounding wall extends substantially in a vertical direction, and is disposed outwardly of the cover plate to surround the cover plate. The surrounding wall cooperates with a peripheral surface of the cover plate to define a gap therebetween. The flange extends integrally and inwardly from the surrounding wall to contact an upper surface of the cover plate and to seal off one end of the gap. The gasket is disposed between the surrounding wall and the peripheral surface of the cover plate to fill the gap. The cover plate, the frame and the gasket are molded as one piece.

The holes are formed during molding of the lid. Abstract: A paper cap having an improved structure to prevent a skirt part from being deformed and the paper cap from being easily separated from a container is disclosed. The paper cap includes a circular plane part for covering an upper portion of a container and a skirt part extending downward from an edge of the plane part. The skirt part has a circumference groove fitted into a curling part of the paper cup and a ring-shaped reinforcing groove on which a plurality of uneven wrinkles are formed in a length direction and which is formed along the inner circumference surface at a position spaced apart from the circumference groove.

Abstract: Stackable lids for a container each include a top surface facing generally in a first direction and a bottom surface opposite the top surface and facing generally in a second direction. Pivotable wing portions extend from each side edge of the lid and each pivotable wing portion is joined to its respective side edge by a hinge. The wing portions are moveable between engaged and disengaged positions, and an inner surface of each wing includes a tab member configured for detent engagement with a rim of the container. The lid also includes corner portions extending between the side edges. Each corner portion includes a skirt portion extending generally in the second direction. Each corner portion also defines a recessed shoulder configured to receive the skirt portion of another when the lids are stacked.

The sidewall surface extends from the concave upper surface to a rim interface disposed at a lower portion of the popcorn container lid. The rim interface can include a semi-circular channel extending circumferentially around at least a part of the lower portion of the popcorn container lid. Additionally, the rim interface can comprise an air channel extending from the side wall surface to a bottom edge of the popcorn container lid. The air channel can comprise a portion of the rim interface that protrudes such that it does not engage with a lip of the popcorn container.

Abstract: A container for storing matter provides a container body having a resilient flange protruding outward therefrom to form a seal between the container body and a mating closure. The resilient flange is deflected by the inner surface of the mating closure to form a first releasable seal between the closure and the container body. The resilient flange includes an aspect ratio of length divided by thickness. A second releasable seal is formed in some embodiments between the upper edge of the side wall and the closure when the mating closure is positioned on the container body.

A snap hinge comprising two trapezoid elements which are connected each by film hinges to the body and the lid, causes a snap action while opening or closing the closure. Abstract: An overcap (14) is provided for a container (10) having a hinge (26) supporting a moveable flap (28) to provide access to the container reservoir. First and second skirts (34, 44) are provided for engaging an upper rim on the container body, with one skirt permitting the mounting of the overcap in two alternate positions. In the first position, only the first skirt (34) engages the upper rim, which allows a removable membrane to be positioned on the upper rim of the container. In the second position, the membrane is removed and both the first and second skirts engage the inner and outer edges of the rim of the container.

Abstract: A container and closure assembly is provided. A projecting rim surrounds an opening into the container and includes a rim sealing surface. The closure is provided for covering the container opening. The closure is formed from a support ring dimensioned to surround the rim of the container and a sealing membrane. The ring includes a ring sealing surface positioned concentric with the rim sealing surface. The membrane is sealed to the rim sealing surface and further sealed to the ring sealing surface. The seal of the membrane to the rim sealing surface is separable upon removal of the ring from its position surrounding the rim of the container, while the seal of the membrane to the ring remains in place upon ring removal.
