Description

This patent application is based on provisional patent application Ser. No. 61/339,448 filed on Mar. 4, 2010.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a kit for feminine hygienic care and, more particularly, to a carry bag and a collection of feminine supplies held within separate interior pockets of the carry bag for use by a young woman during her first few years of menstruation.

2. Discussion of the Related Art

The transformation from young childhood to preteen and teenage years can be an awkward and sometimes difficult experience. For girls, the thought of having their first menstrual period can be pretty scary, and learning how to handle it gets even more overwhelming when it actually happens. If she is lucky, a girl's mother will have a talk with her in advance and help to prepare for this big change she is about to encounter. As part of this preparation, young girls may begin to carry a limited number of items with them during their daily routine. These items usually include feminine pads and perhaps a change of underwear. In most instances, however, young girls are not adequately prepared for their first menstrual period and when it suddenly arrives they find themselves confused and embarrassed.

Accordingly, there remains a need for a feminine care kit that a young girl can carry with her wherever she goes, and wherein the kit contains everything she will need, including feminine products and instructions, to properly care for her hygienic needs when her menstrual period arrives.

OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION

Considering the foregoing, it is a primary object of the present invention to provide a feminine care kit including a convenient carry bag containing all of the products and instructions a young girl will need when she experiences her first few menstrual periods.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a young girl's feminine care kit for use during the first few years of menstruation, and wherein the kit contains a collection of feminine care products, TYLENOL or other over-the-counter pain reliever, a change of clothing and underwear, and easy to follow instructions on how to use the products in the kit as well as how to properly care for herself.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is directed to a personal hygiene kit for young women for use during their menstrual period. The kit includes a carry bag that zips open to reveal an arrangement of pockets on opposite inner panels. The kit further includes a collection of supplies carried in the pockets, including tampons, feminine pads, soap, lotion, powder, feminine spray, pre-moistened wipes, a self-activated heating pad, a spare pair of pants, a clean pair of panties in a plastic bag, TYLENOL, chocolate candy or other favorite snack and instructions explaining how to use each product.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a carry bag according to a preferred embodiment of the invention;

FIG. 2 is a top, end perspective view of the carry bag;

FIG. 3 is a top plan view showing the carry bag fully opened to reveal opposite inner side panels with pockets for holding feminine supplies and clothing; and

FIG. 4 is a top plan view showing the carry bag fully opened with various feminine products partially removed from the pockets.

When the carry bag 12 is fully opened, the opposite inner panels 30, 32 lie flat along a common plane as seen in FIGS. 3 and 4. The inner panels 30, 32 are each provided with an arrangement of pockets 34. The pockets 34 each have an open end with an elastic band 36 to hold the pocket normally closed. The pockets 34 hold the collection of feminine supplies, change of clothing 40 (e.g., Capri pants) and clean pair of underwear 42 in a plastic bag, several plastic zip lock bags 46 and the instructions 48. The feminine products include several tampons 50, several feminine pads 52, a bottle of liquid soap 54, a bottle of lotion 56, a bottle of powder 56, a spray bottle containing a feminine spray product 60, several packets 62 each containing a pre-moistened wipe, a self-activated packaged heating pad 65, and TYLENOL or other over-the-counter pain reliever 68. One or more chocolate candies 72 or another snack are also packed in the carry bag 12.

While the present invention has been shown and described in accordance with a preferred and practical embodiment thereof, it is recognized that departures from the instant disclosure are fully contemplated but not to be limited except as set forth in the following claims as interpreted under the Doctrine of Equivalents.
