Bunk Bed Structure

A bunk bed structure includes a plurality of supports and a number of posts. Each support includes a wedged slot mounted thereon for cooperation with the post and includes a screw hole fixed below the wedged slot. The post is used to fix a plate member. Each post includes a wedged tenon extending from an end portion thereof and includes a positioning piece secured below the wedged tenon and having an elongated bore. The post is inserted relative to the wedged slot by using the wedged tenon to align the elongated bore with the screw hole automatically. A screw is inserted through the elongated bore and into the screw hole to fix the post and the support together.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a bunk bed structure is disposed between a plurality of supports and a number of posts by using the wedged slots and the wedged tenons so that the support and the post are aligned precisely and retained securely, and the positioning piece of the post is provided to screw the screw with the screw hole so that the wedged slot and the wedged tenon are connected stably.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A conventional bunk bed is design to include a top bed and a bottom bed so as to facilitate usage in a limited space, especially used in a family having at least two children.

A conventional bunk bed structure can be assembled by a user and includes a support 5 and a post 6 to assemble the bunk bed stably. The conventional support 5 includes a wedged slot 51 and the post 6 includes a wedged tenon 61, but the bunk bed is positioned by a bolt structure (as shown in FIG. 5), thus the wedged slot 51 is in alignment with the wedged tenon 61 to assemble the support 5 and the post 6 together, however an error occurs during producing components, and the deeper the wedged tenon 61 is inserted to the wedged slot 51, the more secure the wedged tenon 61 and the wedged slot 51 assemble, therefore a hole of the wedged slot 51 and a bore of the wedged tenon 61 do not align with each other to insert a bolt 7 exactly, and the post 6 has to be lifted to facilitate an insertion of the bolt 7, but such as assembling method (the support 5 and the post 6 are assembled together by using the bolt 7) will deform or break the bolt 7, and after the bolt 7 is deformed or broken, the post 6 disengages from the post 5 to disassemble the bunk bed, causing a danger.

The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a bunk bed structure that the support and the post are aligned precisely and retained securely by ways of the wedged slot and the wedged tenon, so as to be assembled quickly and easily.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a bunk bed structure that the positioning piece of the post is provided to screw the screw with the screw hole so that the wedged slot and the wedged tenon are connected stably to prevent from disengagement as being impacted.

To obtain the above objectives, a bunk bed structure provided by a preferred embodiment of the present invention is disposed between a plurality of supports and a number of posts, wherein the support includes a wedged slot mounted thereon in response to the post, and includes a screw hole fixed below the wedged slot; the post is used to fix a plate member, includes a wedged tenon extending from a lower end portion thereof, and includes a positioning piece secured below the wedged tenon and having an elongated bore; the post is inserted to the wedged slot by using the wedged tenon to align the elongated bore with the screw hole automatically, and a screw is inserted to the elongated bore, and the screw hole is used to fix the post and the support together.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective showing the exploded components of a bunk bed structure according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a perspective showing the assembly of the bunk bed structure according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a perspective showing the operation of the bunk bed structure according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a cross sectional showing the assembly of the bunk bed structure according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 5 is a perspective showing the assembly of a conventional bunk bed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The present invention will be clearer from the following description when viewed together with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 1, a bunk bed structure 10 in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention is disposed between a plurality of supports 1 and a number of posts 2, wherein

the support 1 includes a wedged slot 11 mounted thereon in response to the post 2, and includes a screw hole 12 fixed below the wedged slot 11;

the post 2 is used to fix a plate member 4, includes a wedged tenon 21 extending from a lower end portion thereof, and includes a positioning piece 22 secured below the wedged tenon 21 and having an elongated bore 221.

In assembly, the post 2 is inserted to the wedged slot 11 by using the wedged tenon 21 to align the elongated bore 221 with the screw hole 12 automatically, and then a screw 3 is inserted to the elongated bore 221 and the screw hole 12 is used to fix the post 2 and the support 1 together (as shown in FIG. 2), thereby assembling the post 2 and the support 1 securely.

Thereby, the support 1 and the post 2 are aligned precisely and retained securely by ways of the wedged slot 11 and the wedged tenon 21, so as to be assembled quickly and easily. Furthermore, the positioning piece 22 of the post 2 is provided to screw the screw 3 with the screw hole 12 (e.g., as illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, the positioning piece 22 includes the elongated bore 221 so that when an depth error occurs during assembling the wedged tenon 21 and the wedged slot 11, the screw 3 can insert through the elongated bore 221 to screw with the screw hole 12, hence the post 2 is supported completely by the support 1) so that the wedged slot 11 and the wedged tenon 21 are connected stably to prevent from disengagement as being impacted.

While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it is clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
