Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a disposable cup lid which is used for covering a cup.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A disposable cup lid is used for covering on a cup. When the cup is covered by the disposable cup lid, said cup lid can prevent the content of said cup from being spilled and avoid extraneous materials dropping into said cup.

However, a problem is often found when using the disposable cup lid. The problem is that a user may scald when having hot drinks with the cup lid on the cup. It's just like drinking with a straw, so that the user's lips or tongue will directly touch hot drinks without any buffering.

The present invention is, therefore, arisen to obviate or at least mitigate the above mentioned disadvantages.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main object of the present invention is to provide a disposable cup lid for users to drink without abutting their lips against a connection opening.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a disposable cup lid, which is formed with a heightened hump portion to allow the content inside of a cup to be drunk after flowing out of the lid, and to make the fragrance of the drinks, such as coffee, diffuse completely.

To achieve the above and other objects, a disposable cup lid includes an engaging portion, a hump portion, a lid surface, and a connection opening. The engaging portion is used for engaging with a cup. At least part of the hump portion is formed annularly inside of the engaging portion. The lid surface is connected to the hump portion. The connection opening is defined on the lid surface, and said connection opening is used for communicating with an interior of the cup. The connection opening is adjacent to the hump portion. A top of the hump portion is higher than the connection opening, and a vertical distance from the top of the hump portion to the connection portion is between 4 to 30 millimeters.

In other words, said hump portion and said vertical distance allow users to have hot drinks without touching the connection opening by their lips. In this way, hot drinks will be drunk after flowing out of the connection opening. Thereby, unlike drinking with a straw, the users won't scald when having hot drinks with the cup lid on the cup. Moreover, the fragrance of the drinks can diffuse completely, so that the drinks are much more flavorful.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiments in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a stereogram of a disposable cup lid in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional drawing of a disposable cup lid in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention, wherein the cup lid covers a cup;

FIG. 3 is a partial cross-sectional drawing of a disposable cup lid in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a stereogram of a disposable cup lid in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional drawing of a disposable cup lid in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, wherein the cup lid covers a cup.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 showing a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The disposable cup lid includes an engaging portion 10, a hump portion 20, a lid surface 30, and a connection opening 40.

The engaging portion is used for engaging with a cup 1. Perfectly, the engaging portion 10 has an upper wall 11 and an outer sidewall 12. The upper wall 11 and the outer sidewall 12 respectively abut against the upper rim and the outer rim of an engaging lip 2 of the cup 1.

At least part of the hump portion 20 is formed annularly inside of the engaging portion 10. In present embodiment, the hump portion 20 is generally formed as inverse V-shape with two sidewalls 21 and 22. However, in other possible embodiments of the present invention, the hump portion can be formed as a flange with only one single sidewall.

The lid surface 30 is connected with the hump portion 20 so as to cover the cup. In present embodiment, the lid surface 30 is step-like. More specifically, the lid surface has a higher platform portion 31 and a lower drinking portion 32. Perfectly, the drinking portion 32 is slanted.

The connection opening 40 is defined on the lid surface 30 so as to communicate with an interior of the cup 1. Perfectly, the connection opening 40 is defined on the slanted drinking portion 32, and said connection opening 40 is approximately located at bottom of the lid surface 30. Thereby, it is convenient for users to pour out the content inside of the cup 1. Further, a top of the hump portion 20 is higher than the connection opening 40. A vertical distance from the top of the hump portion 20 to the connection opening 40 is between 4 to 30 millimeters.

Moreover, as shown in FIG. 3, the disposable cup lid of the present embodiment further includes an addition opening 50. The addition opening 50 is higher than the connection opening 40. The addition opening 50 is provided for users to add sugar, creamer, or other additives, so that the users can add additives without uncovering the lid. Perfectly, a swayable covering plate 60 is fixed on the addition opening 50. Said covering plate 60 is adapted to selectively cover the addition opening 50, so that it can avoid extraneous materials unexpectedly dropping into said cup. In other possible embodiments of the present invention, another covering plate (not shown) can be disposed near the connection opening. Said covering plate fixed on the lid surface is swayable. Said covering plate is adapted to selectively cover the connection opening 40, so that it can prevent the content of the cup from being spilled and avoid extraneous materials dropping into said cup.

Please refer to FIG. 4 and FIG. 5. In another embodiment of the present invention, the disposable cup lid is similar to the previous one, and said disposable cup lid further includes a blocking plate 70. The blocking plate 70 is located between the lid surface 30 and the hump portion 20. The connection opening 40 has a horizontal position corresponding to the connection opening 40. There is a height difference between the connection opening 40 and the blocking plate 70. In other words, the blocking plate 70 will interfere with the liquid flowing from the connection opening 40 to a user's mouth so as to extend the flow length and the flow time of the liquid. Thereby, the possibility of scalding is decreased and the fragrance of the liquid can diffuse completely.

Accordingly, the disposable cup lid of the present invention is provided with the hump portion. The hump portion, which is formed with an appropriate spacing from its top to the connection opening, can allow users to have hot drinks without touching said opening directly by their lips so as to prevent from scalding. Besides, a blocking plate can be further fixed between the connection opening and the hump portion. The blocking plate not only can prevent extraneous materials from dropping into the cup, but also can increase the flow length of hot drinks to avoid scalding. Furthermore, the present invention can allow the fragrance of the drinks to diffuse. As a result, the drinks become more flavorful so as to fulfill users' need.
