The present invention is a zip-in pant girdle worn by a user in combination with a pair of pants with an inside waistband to secure the pants and prevent the pants from sliding down and falling down. The girdle includes a base cloth band made of approximately 20% Spandex and 80% Nylon that is worn above the pants, a first zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed on the bottom perimeter of the base cloth band and a second zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed within the inside waistband of the pants and corresponds with the first zipper portion to form a zipper that removably secures the base cloth band to the pants.

TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUNDPregnant women or people with large stomachs often have two problems when wearing pants. Due to their large stomachs their pants will fall to below their belly buttons exposing lower parts of their stomachs and during regular daily movements such as walking, standing or sitting, their pants will often fall down and need to be constantly pulled up. This can be difficult if a person has a large stomach, especially from a pregnancy. Such situations can cause embarrassment especially in public. For pregnant women, larger pants do exist with large attached stretchy waist bands that allow for some pulling over part of the growing stomach, but these pant styles are limited and often offer up to only approximately 4 inches of stretchy waist band material which does not fully fit over the user's stomach. This will often result in the same previously mentioned problems as the stomach gets larger during the term of the pregnancy.
The use of suspenders is possible to solve these problems, but suspenders have not been common for women to wear or use and suspenders are a fashion statement that will change often, so it is not always stylish to wear them. Suspenders can also cause discomfort by cutting into the wearer's shoulders and resting across sensitive body areas such as a woman's nipple area, which can be especially sensitive for pregnant women.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a zip-in pant girdle that holds a wearer's pants in place without causing any cutting into the wearer's shoulders or grinding or rubbing sensitive areas of the wearer's body.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a zip-in pant girdle that provides a solution that is not fashion sensitive and can be used by men or women.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a zip-in pant girdle that can be used whether the user's stomach is growing or shrinking.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a zip-in pant girdle that can be used in any easily modified pair of pants such as old or new jeans, sweatpants or stretch waist pants.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a zip-in pant girdle that will completely cover a wearer's exposed stomach skin regardless of how the wearer moves, such as during running, sitting, jumping or other activities or body movements.
What is really needed is a zip-in pant girdle that holds a wearer's pants in place without causing any cutting into the wearer's shoulders or grinding or rubbing sensitive areas of the wearer's body that provides a solution that is not fashion sensitive and can be used by men or women that can be used in any easily modified pair of pants such as old or new jeans, sweatpants or stretch waist pants that will completely cover a wearer's exposed stomach skin regardless of how the wearer moves, such as during running, sitting, jumping or other activities or body movements.

However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.
Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention. However, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.
The phrase “in one embodiment” is used repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms “comprising”, “having” and “including” are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.
The base cloth band 110 has a bottom perimeter 112 and is worn by a user above a pair of pants 114 with an inside waistband 116 or other suitable leg-covering garment such as old or new sweat pants, jeans, stretch waist pants or stretch pants. The base cloth band 110 is typically made of approximately 20% SPANDEX™ and 80% NYLON™ forming a relatively very stretchy band although the base cloth band 110 can be made of other suitable combinations as well. The base cloth band 110 is typically in the range of approximately 7 to 10 inches in width and can stretch to accommodate any sized user. The range of approximately 7-10 inches is essential since the range ensures that the zip-in pant girdle can accommodate any sized person. The first zipper portion 120 includes a distal end 122 and is disposed on the bottom perimeter 112 of the base cloth band 110. The second zipper portion 130 includes a distal end 132 and is disposed within the inside waistband 116 of the pants 114 and corresponds with the first zipper portion 120 to form a zipper 140 that removably secures the base cloth band 110 to the pants 114. To removably secure the base cloth band 110 to the pants 114 is straightforward. A user would insert a male end 124 disposed on the distal end 122 of the first zipper portion 120 into a female end 134 disposed on the distal end 132 of the second zipper portion 130. A tab 136 is also provided on the second zipper portion 130 to allow a user to grasp the tab 136 and pull the tab 136 along the length of the zipper 140 to bring the first zipper portion 120 integral with the second zipper portion 130 as the tab 136 is pulled across the length of the zipper 140 thereby engaging the first zipper portion 120 with the second zipper portion 130 securing the zip-in pant girdle 100 to the pants 114. To release the zip-in pant girdle 100 from the pants 116, a user would straightforwardly grasp the tab 136 and pull the tab 136 back across the zipper 140 and disengage and separate the female end 134 of the second zipper portion 130 from the male end 124 of the first zipper portion 120 and grasp and separate the zip-in pant girdle 100 from the pants 116. Typically the second zipper portion 130 is sewn into the inside waistband 116 of the pants 114 however the second zipper portion 130 can be secured with any suitable fastener to the inside waistband 116 of the pants 114. Once the zipper 140 is secured, the user puts on the pants 114 and pulls the attached zip-in pant girdle 100 up and over the user's stomach. The internal force created around the user wearing the zip-in pant girdle 100 keeps the secured pants 114 from falling or moving downward during the user's use and activities and will secure the pants in place.
The zip-in pant girdle that holds a wearer's pants in place without causing any cutting into the wearer's shoulders or grinding or rubbing sensitive areas of the wearer's body that provides a solution that is not fashion sensitive and can be used by men or women that can be used in combination with any easily modified pair of pants such as old or new jeans, sweatpants or stretch waist pants that will completely cover a wearer's exposed stomach skin regardless of how the wearer moves, such as during running, sitting, jumping or other activities or body movements.
The zip-in pant girdle includes a 7-10 inch wide circular sewn band made of 20% SPANDEX™ and 80% NYLON™ fabric with one side of a zipper attached to the bottom of the band. The range of 7-10 inches is essential since the range insures that the zip-in pant girdle can accommodate any sized person. The corresponding zipper is sewn into the bottom part of the inside waistband of any suitable pant. The zip-in pant girdle zips into the pant and the person puts on the pant and pulls the attached zip-in pant girdle over their stomach. The tension created around the wearer by the zip-in pant girdle will hold the pant in place. The zip-in pant girdle can be used in a pant that is modified with the second part of the zipper to keep the pants in place without the need for suspenders or a belt.
While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
Claims
1. A zip-in pant girdle worn by a user in combination with a pair of pants with an inside waistband to secure said pants and prevent said pants from sliding down, comprising:
- a base cloth band with a bottom perimeter that is worn above said pants;
- a first zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed on said bottom perimeter of said base cloth band; and
- a second zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed within said inside waistband of said pants and corresponds with said first zipper portion to form a zipper that removably secures said base cloth band to said pants.
2. The girdle according to claim 1, wherein said base cloth band is made of approximately 20% Spandex and 80% Nylon.
3. The girdle according to claim 1, wherein said second zipper portion is sewn into said inside waistband of said pants.
4. The girdle according to claim 3, wherein said pants are old pants or new pants.
5. The girdle according to claim 3, wherein said pants are sweat pants.
6. The girdle according to claim 3, wherein said pants are jeans.
7. A zip-in pant girdle worn by a user in combination with a pair of pants with an inside waistband to secure said pants and prevent said pants from sliding down, comprising:
- a base cloth band made of approximately 20% Spandex and 80% Nylon with a bottom perimeter that is worn above said pants;
- a first zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed on said bottom perimeter of said base cloth band; and
- a second zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed within said inside waistband of said pants and corresponds with said first zipper portion to form a zipper that removably secures said base cloth band to said pants.
8. The girdle according to claim 7, wherein said base cloth band is in the range of approximately 7 to 10 inches in width and can stretch to accommodate any sized user.
9. The girdle according to claim 7, wherein said second zipper portion is sewn into said inside waistband of said pants.
10. The girdle according to claim 7, wherein said pants are old pants or new pants.
11. The girdle according to claim 10, wherein said pants are sweat pants.
12. The girdle according to claim 10, wherein said pants are jeans.
13. A zip-in pant girdle worn by a user in combination with a pair of pants with an inside waistband to secure said pants and prevent said pants from sliding down, comprising:
- a base cloth band made of approximately 20% Spandex and 80% Nylon with a bottom perimeter that creates an internal force around said user during said user's use that is worn above said pants;
- a first zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed on said bottom perimeter of said base cloth band; and
- a second zipper portion that includes a distal end that is disposed within said inside waistband of said pants and corresponds with said first zipper portion to form a zipper that removably secures said base cloth band to said pants.
14. The girdle according to claim 13, wherein said base cloth band is in the range of approximately 7 to 10 inches in width and can stretch to accommodate any sized user.
15. The girdle according to claim 13, wherein said second zipper portion is sewn into said inside waistband of said pants.
16. The girdle according to claim 13, wherein said pants are old pants or new pants.
17. The girdle according to claim 16, wherein said pants are sweat pants.
18. The girdle according to claim 16, wherein said pants are jeans.
19. The girdle according to claim 16, wherein said pants are stretch waist pants.
20. The girdle according to claim 16, wherein said pants are stretch pants.
