Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

a) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a box for emplacing a combinatorial billiard cue, and more particularly to a bag which facilitates emplacing and removing cue segments of a combinatorial billiard cue.

b) Description of the Prior Art

The billiard ball game is a noble and interesting sport; therefore, it is quite popular. To play the billiard ball game, a user will need a billiard cue in a shape of a long rod to hit balls, in addition to having a pool table. On the other hand, to facilitate carrying the billiard cue in the shape of the long rod, the billiard cue is sometimes designed as a combinatorial billiard cue.

The combinatorial billiard cue can be disassembled into many cue segments and there is already a box (or bag) designed specifically for this kind of billiard cue. For example, the US Patent Publication No. 2007/0125670 A1, “Box (Bag) Structure for Emplacing Billiard Cues,” has disclosed such box.

In this prior art, a top part of the box is provided with a movable protecting block and when the billiard cue is to be taken out, the protecting block should be moved away first to expose a top end of the billiard cue, thereby facilitating the user to take out the billiard cue.

However, this design requires moving the protecting block and thus is very inconvenient in operation. Besides, sometimes the user may forget to assemble the protecting block, causing the protecting block to be lost. Thus, these shortcomings require to be improved.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, it shows a bag for emplacing a combinatorial billiard cue, according to the present invention. As shown in the drawings, the bag is used to emplace cue segments 2 of a disassembled combinatorial billiard cue to facilitate carrying. The bag for emplacing an combinatorial billiard cue comprises primarily a bag unit 11, a billiard cue bottom seat 12 and a billiard cue upper rack 13.

The bag unit 11 is a long body and above which is provided with an upper lid 111 that can be covered or opened. The billiard cue bottom seat 12 is located at a bottom of the bag unit 11 and is opened vertically with plural dents 121; whereas, an inner bottom of each dent 121 is provided with an extension mechanism 122. As shown in FIG. 4, when being pressed at a first time, the extension mechanism 122 will be contracted vertically; whereas, when being pressed at a second time, the extension mechanism 122 will be extended vertically.

The billiard cue upper rack 13 is provided above the billiard cue bottom seat 12 in the bag unit 11 and is opened with plural through-holes 131 corresponding to the dents 121.

Referring to FIG. 2, when the bag for emplacing a combinatorial billiard cue provided by the present invention emplaces, each cue segment 2 is emplaced from one through-hole 131 of the billiard cue upper rack 13, allowing a bottom of the cue segment 2 to be put into one corresponding dent 121 at the billiard cue bottom seat 12 and located above the extension mechanism 122 in the dent 121; whereas, a top of the cue segment 2 is located close to a top surface of the billiard cue upper rack 13. When the billiard cue is to be taken out, as shown in FIG. 3, the upper lid 111 can be opened first, and then the top of the cue segment 2 is pushed, pressing down the bottom thereof to press the extension mechanism 122. Next, by vertical extension of the extension mechanism 122, the top of the cue segment 2 will protrude out of the top surface of the billiard cue upper rack 13, as shown at a left side in FIG. 3.

Moreover, referring to FIGS. 5 to 7 at the same time, it shows exploded views of an embodiment of the extension mechanism 122, according to the present invention. As shown in the drawings, the extension mechanism 122 is primarily constituted by a bottom seat 31, a rotation element 32, a set of extension barrel 33, a press element 34 and an elastic element 35. In addition, the extension mechanism 122 is provided with a screw 36 and a soft pad 37.

The bottom seat 31 of the extension mechanism 122 is fixedly connected on a bottom surface of the dent 121 of the billiard cue bottom seat 12 and a central position is extended upward with a shaft 311.

The rotation element 32 is pivoted at a top of the shaft 311 and can rotate freely. Furthermore, an outer surface of the rotation element 32 is provided with plural bumps 321 equally spaced apart by a same angle. The screw 36 is locked above the shaft 311 of the bottom seat 31 from top of the rotation element 32.

The set of extension barrel 33 is formed by sheathing orderly plural barrels 331, 332, 333 of diameters that become smaller gradually, wherein, a bottom of the barrel 331 of the largest diameter is fixed above the bottom seat 31. When being contracted, as shown in FIG. 6, each barrel 331, 332, 333 is completely accommodated in the barrel 331, 332, 333 of a larger diameter; whereas, when being extended, as shown in FIG. 7, each barrel 331, 332, 333 protrudes on an opening above the barrel 331, 332, 333 of the larger diameter. However, a bottom rim 332a, 333a is larger than the opening above the barrel 331, 332 of the larger diameter and keeps inside the opening above the barrel 331, 332 of the larger diameter, without sliding out.

The press element 34 is a barrel unit 341 of a diameter smaller than the opening above the barrel 333 of the smallest diameter and an upper end of the press element 34 is provided with an upper disc 342 of a diameter larger than the opening above the barrel 333 of the smallest diameter. A collar 343, a diameter of which is larger than the opening above the barrel 333 of the smallest diameter, is provided close to the bottom rim; whereas, an upper side of the upper disc 342 is fixedly connected with the soft pad 37. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 5A, an interior of the barrel unit 341, close to the bottom rim, is provided with plural V-shaped blocks 344 equally spaced apart by a same angle. The V-shaped blocks 344 correspond to the bumps 321 of the rotation element 32 and when being contracted, the bumps 321 are snapped above the V-shaped blocks 344 (as shown in FIG. 6); whereas, when being extended, the bump 321 slips from a gap between two V-shaped blocks 344 to release the snapping (as shown in FIG. 7).

On the other hand, the elastic element 35 can be a spring as shown in the drawings or can be formed by plural spring leaves. The elastic element 35 is provided between the collar 343 and the bottom seat 31 of the press element 34. After the bumps 321 have released the snapping to the V-shaped blocks 344, the elastic element 35 will provide an elastic force, allowing the set of extension barrel 33 to be extended upward automatically in a vertical direction, thereby extending the height.

By this extension mechanism, an effect that the extension mechanism will be contracted vertically when being pressed at a first time and extended vertically when being pressed at a second time is achieved.

Apparently, for the bag for emplacing a combinatorial billiard cue of the present invention, as the interior of the dent 121 at the billiard cue bottom seat 12 is provided with the extension mechanism 122, such that when each cue segment 2 of the combinatorial billiard cue is to be taken out, a user only needs to push the cue segment 2 again that the top of the cue segment 2 can exceed the top surface of the billiard cue upper rack, thereby facilitating the user to take out the cue segment 2.

It is of course to be understood that the embodiments described herein is merely illustrative of the principles of the invention and that a wide variety of modifications thereto may be effected by persons skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
