Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is in the area of clothing, and more particularly pertains to an improved underwear garment.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

One of the trends in clothing and fashion is the customization of clothing. The term “one size fits all” is being increasingly replaced with “tailor-made”. In particular, the clothing industry has seen an explosion in growth of niche-sizing specifically designed to accommodate the panoply of different sizes, weights, physiologies, morphologies, etc. which accompany society in general.

One particular type of niche demand in the marketplace is particularly related to men. Some men feel uncomfortable with excessive movement, or other displacement/vibrations of their particular genitalia. This problem is seen most clearly with boxer shorts which offer men no support for their particular genitalia.

Other types of underwear garments such as “boxer-briefs” do provide some added support, but fail to completely secure the male genitalia. In particular, some men have expressed a need for an underwear garment to secure both the penis as well as the scrotum from excessive movement.

Therefore, what is clearly needed in the art is an improved underwear garment which provides added comfort and security for men. This garment should be sized appropriately and be comfortable as well.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is an object of the present invention to provide for an improved undergarment for men which is multi-purpose. This multi-function undergarment can be worn throughout the day whether it is work, play, sports, exercise, etc. This characteristic is in stark contrast with many other undergarments which are limited in their form and function.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved underwear garment for men which is more comfortable. This increased comfort is achieved by including an inner compartment sized and position to receive the male organs. By securing the male organs, many men can find added comfort as they walk, run, or go about their daily activities.

It should be noted that the present invention is versatile in its usage. In operation, a user may use the inner compartment to receive the male organs. Alternatively, users may forego the use of the inner compartment, and utilize it as traditional male underwear, or undergarments.

It is an object of the present invention to further include a means of securing the outer aperture of the underwear garments. The outer aperture can be secured or fastened through means of a zipper or button/plurality of buttons.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an undergarment for men which will give greater support for the genitals of men. The pouch also reduces the compression many men experience with traditional undergarments.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an undergarment which is more hygienic. By retrofitting undergarments to further include a pouch, an extra layer of fabric (or similar material) can help absorb sweat, odor, various bodily fluids, germs, bacterial, and the like. By absorbing these pathogens, they are removed away from a person's skin. This additional hygienic quality can be especially salutary for those men who have skin which is sensitive to various pH, acidic, or alkalinity levels.

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, an Improved Underwear Garment for Men is disclosed for the purpose of providing a more comfortable clothing item for men. The present invention is described in enabling detail below.

FIG. 1 illustrates a preferred embodiment of the present invention. An Improved Underwear Garment for Men 100 includes an underwear garment 101, an inner compartment 102, and an outer aperture 103. In some preferred embodiments, the outer aperture 103 is disposed upon a seam on the front portion of the Improved Underwear Garment for Men 100.

The underwear garment comprises an outer side 105 and an inner side 106. For the sake of clarity, FIG. 3 illustrates the outer side of the underwear garment, and FIG. 4 illustrates the inner side of the underwear garment. FIG. 5 illustrates that in some preferred embodiments, no outer aperture is provided as some men do not find it useful.

The inner compartment 102 is affixed to the inner side of the underwear garment. The inner compartment is essentially a layer of suitable fabric which is sewed onto the underwear garment in a manner consistent with well known methods in the art. As FIG. 4 illustrates, two sides of the fabric are sewed onto the underwear garment, while one side is left open to form the orifice or aperture. In some preferred embodiments, the lip 110 is concave-shaped and sized appropriately to receive the male organs. p FIGS. 6-9 illustrate that in some preferred embodiments, the outer aperture 103 may further include a zipper 111. The zipper, in some preferred embodiments may be used to close the outer aperture and secure the male organs therein. It should be noted that the zipper is optional in its usage and may not be included with some embodiments of the present invention.

Similarly, FIG. 8 illustrates that in other preferred embodiments, the outer aperture may be secured with a button 112, or a plurality of buttons. The button may be sewn or otherwise affixed to the underwear garment. A cooperating orifice or slit may be fashioned into the upper layer of the outer aperture.

In some preferred embodiments, the outer aperture may alternatively incorporate snaps, corresponding hooks and loop fasteners (ie Velcro®, a Federally Registered Trademark), drawstrings, magnets, buttons with cooperating elastic rings, hook and eye clasps, and combinations of said components. As one skilled in the art can appreciate, other means of closing the aperture may be used in lieu of the foregoing. As such, the present invention is not meant to be construed as being limited to the foregoing means. However, it should also be noted that in other preferred embodiments, the aperture may not be sealable.

It will be apparent to the skilled artisan that there are numerous changes that may be made in embodiments described herein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. As such, the invention taught herein by specific examples is limited only by the scope of the claims that follow.
