OUTPUT MECHANISM

An output mechanism for transferring a print medium is disclosed. The output mechanism includes an output tray, a stand connected to the output tray, a roller assembly rotatably coupled to the stand, and a block member connected to the stand adjacent to the roller assembly. The roller assembly transfers the print medium onto the output tray. The block member contacts an end of the print medium and allows the print medium to be curl upward.

Description
BACKGROUND

1. Technical Field

The present disclosure relates to an output mechanism which can prevent a print medium form curling downward.

2. Description of Related Art

Many printers include an output mechanism for outputting a printed print medium, such as a sheet of paper. The print medium tends to curl downward because of its gravity after being processed by the printer. Thus, it is desirable to provide an output mechanism which can prevent the print medium from curling downward.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present disclosure. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of an output mechanism according to an exemplary embodiment.

FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the output mechanism of FIG. 1, showing that the output mechanism is outputting a print medium.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Embodiments of the present disclosure are now described in detail, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Referring to FIG. 1, an output mechanism 1 of a printer includes an output tray 11, a stand 12 disposed on the output tray 11, a roller assembly 20 rotatably coupled to the stand 12, and a block member 30. The rolling assembly 20 is used to transfer a print medium 2 onto the output tray 11, and the block member 30 is used to prevent the print medium 2 from curling downward.

In the embodiment, the roller assembly 20 includes a first roller 21 and a second roller 22 which cooperatively define a gap 23. The first roller 21 and the second roller 22 can be driven by a driving mechanism (not shown) to rotate respectively around an axis of their own.

The block member 30 includes a fixed portion 31 and an angled portion 32.

The fixed portion 31 protrudes from the stand 12. The angled portion 32 defines a distal, free end 33 whose position is lower than that of the gap 23 when being measured from the output tray 11. In the embodiment, the block member 30 is L-shaped and made of flexible material.

Referring to FIG. 2, when the first roller 21 and the second roller 22 respectively rotate around their axes, the print medium 2 is transferred through the gap 23 as driven by the first roller 21 and the second roller 22. During the transfer, the front end of the print medium 2 will contact the angled portion 32 of the block member 30. The processed print medium 2 is then curled upward. After that, the print medium 2 is dropped onto the output tray 11, and the output mechanism 1 prevents the print medium 2 from curling downward.

While various embodiments have been described and illustrated, the disclosure is not to be constructed as being limited thereto. Various modifications can be made to the embodiments by those skilled in the art without departing from the true spirit and scope of the disclosure as defined by the appended claims.

Claims

1. An output mechanism for transferring a print medium, comprising:

an output tray;
a stand connected to the output tray of the output mechanism;
a roller assembly comprising a gap and configured to transfer the print medium onto the output tray through the gap; and
a block member comprising a distal, free end lower than the gap when being measured from the output tray, causing the print medium to be upward curled before the print medium reaches the output tray.

2. The output mechanism as described in claim 1, wherein the roller assembly comprises a first roller and a second roller rotatably coupled to the stand, wherein the gap is formed between the first roller and the second roller.

3. The output mechanism as described in claim 2, wherein the block member is made of flexible material.
