BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a container cap having a blade protector which comprises a lower cap having a storage tube accommodated in a container, and an upper cap screw-coupled to the top of the lower cap, wherein a cutting blade for cutting a cut groove on the rim of an opening plate at the bottom of the storage tube and a blade protector for protecting the cutting blade are provided at the bottom of an inner cylinder which extends downward from the center of the bottom surface of the upper cap. When the upper cap is separated, the blade protector functions as a blade protector to protect a user from the blade, and when the blade is working, the blade protector pushes down on the bottom of the opening plate, which enables the blade to easily cut the cut groove.

2. Description of Related Art

A dual cap with an additive addition function is developed, which is characterized in that a storage part storing therein an additive is disposed in an inner side of an opening of a container, and a membrane capping the stuff of the storage part is cut with a blade disposed at the cap for thereby adding the additive into the stuff of the container. The above mentioned dual cap with an additive addition function is widely used in the fields of medicine and medical supplies and food additives.

As one example of the above mentioned technology, there are known two kinds of structures, of which one is configured to break a breakable membrane capping the stuff of a storage part as an upper side of a cap is opened, and a pressing blade is pushed, and the other one is configured in such a way that a storage part storing an additive is accommodated in a separate housing, and the bottom of a storage part is broken by a breaking blade disposed below it when the upper cap is pushed, so the additive of the storage part can be added into the stuff of the container.

In addition, there is known a structure disclosed in the international publication patent number WO 2003/059774. The inner cylinder of FIG. 1 includes a screw cap 2 with a cutting blade 22, and a storage part 4 supported in the interior at the side of the opening of the container.

Threads 16 are formed on a screw cap wall 6 of the screw cap 2, and at the lower side of the screw cap wall 6 is disposed a skirt 12 which has a forge prevention function and is formed at a cutting point 10. The upper side of the screw cap wall 6 defines a screw cap top 8, and an inner cylinder 18 which is formed in a cylindrical shape and is inserted into the opening of a bottle is downwardly protruded from the center of the bottom of the screw cap top 8 in the coaxial direction from the screw cap wall 6. At a portion of the screw cap wall 6 is disposed a cutting blade 22. A shoulder 20 which is protruded in a spiral shape is formed at the center of an outer surface of the inner cylinder 18.

The storage part 4 consists of a cylindrical storage part wall 30 which fits the inn side of the opening of the container, a storage part bottom 32a defining the bottom of the storage part wall 30 and a pocket 36 protruded from the lower surface of the rim of the bottom of the storage part bottom 32a. From the rim of the top of the cylindrical storage part wall 30 is protruded a collar 56 with its diameter increasing, and a toothed structure 58 is disposed at the bottom of the collar 56 for the purpose of fixedly fitting the inner wall of the container. Along the surroundings of the storage part bottom 32a except for the pocket 36 is formed a cutting groove 52 which helps cutting.

The above mentioned structure is inserted into the opening of the container as the stuff is filled in the opening of the container, and as shown in FIG. 3, the additive is filled in the inner space of the storage part. Afterward the protrusion ribs formed in the inner wall of the container and the toothed structure 58 are tooth-engaged.

The screw cap 2 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 are arranged in order for the cutting blade 22 to be positioned at the side of the pocket 36, thus obtaining a capping state as shown in FIG. 4. The container to be capped is not shown in the drawing.

When in use, the screw cap 2 is loosened like an ordinary closure, and the cutting edge rotates together with the inner cylinder 18, and the cutting blade 22 moves past the curved end surface 46 of the pocket 36 while cutting, and then the cutting groove is sequentially cut. Here the storage part bottom 32a is configured to have a slope matching with the slope of each thread so that the bottom is also cut while the cap is being uncapped.

When the pocket 36 returns to its initial position, it opens with the aid of the weight of the storage part bottom 32a, and the remaining additive is added into the stuff of the container. Afterward the user opens the screw cap 2 and eats or drinks the stuff with the storage part 4 fixed on the inner wall of the opening of the container.

The above mentioned methods bring conveniences a little; however it is needed to manufacture the bottle matching with the storage part. When a user eats or drinks the stuff, the opened storage part bottom is unintentionally closed, which cause lots of inconveniences when in use. When the cutting groove is made thinner for the sake of a good cutting of the cutting blade, moisture might penetrate into the stuff of the container, so the additive might be hardened or might go bad.

For the above mentioned reasons, the U.S. Pat. No. 7,337,921 is developed, which is directed to a dual cap which makes it possible to add additives in a two-piece structure by using a conventional container in such a way to provide an inner cylinder structure in which a lower cap is additionally disposed at the outer side of the opening of the container and is fixedly screw-engaged, and an auxiliary screw part is formed at the top of the lower cap, and the upper cap is screw-engaged to the top of the lower cap, and a cutting blade is provided at the center of the bottom of the upper cap. The above mentioned technology is directed to an advanced structure characterized in that the bottom of the storage part is open and is fully bent and a push plate is added to the cutting edge for the purpose of preventing the bottom from being blocked, and the vertical wall of the pocket is pushed and fully bent; however the above mentioned structure has disadvantages: a user's tongue or hand might be cut and hurt by a sharp blade of a cutting blade which is exposed after the upper cap is separated. In particular, children might be severely hurt for the above mentioned reasons. Since the cutting blade is supposed to cut the cutting groove, it is needed to make the thickness of the cutting blade thinner, which results in the penetration of moisture, and the additives might go bad, and if the additive is powder, it becomes hardened.

The present invention is directed to a container cap having a blade protector, which comprises a fixing member 100 which includes a lower cap 110 which is engaged to an outer surface of an opening 12 of a container via an engaging shoulder 115 engaged to a surface of the opening 12 of the container; a storage tube 130 which is extending downward from an inner surface of the engaging shoulder 115 and is configured to store an additive in it and snug-fits an inner wall of the container; and an opening plate 132 which has an engaging groove 135 formed at part of the bottom of the storage tube 130 and configured to concurrently accommodate a cutting blade 22 and a blade protector 310; and an operation member 300 which includes an upper cap 300b which is screw-engaged with a container thread 14 of an opening of the container 10; an inner cylinder 78 which is extending downward from the center of the bottom of the upper cap 300b; a cutting blade 22 which is protruded from a lower side of the inner cylinder 78; and a band-shaped blade protector 310 which is protruded in a coaxial direction from the inner cylinder 78 for the purpose of protecting the blades of the cutting blade 22, wherein the cutting blade 22 and the blade protector 310 are configured to be concurrently accommodated in the engaging groove 135, and the cutting blade 22 starts cutting the cutting groove 133 while the blade protector is pressing the rim bottom of the opening plate 132 of the storage tube 130 when the upper cap rotates and is loosened.

DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC EMBODIMENTS

As shown in FIG. 8, the container cap having a blade protector according to the present invention comprises a fixing member 100 which includes a lower cap 110 engaged to an opening of a container; a storage tube 130 extending downward from the center of the bottom of the lower cap 110 and configured to store an additive in it; and an opening plate 132 with an engaging groove 135 formed at part of the bottom of the storage tube 130 for the purpose of concurrently accommodating a cutting blade 22 and a blade protector 310; and an operation member 300 which includes an upper cap 300b screw-engaged to the threads 128 of the top of an extension tube 131 of the top of the storage tube 130; an inner cylinder 78 which is extending downward from the center of the bottom of the upper cap 300b; a cutting blade 22 which is protruded from the lower side of the inner cylinder 78; and a band-shaped blade protector 310 which is protruded in a coaxial direction from the inner cylinder 78 for the purpose of protecting the blades of the cutting blade 22.

The cutting blade 22 and the blade protector 310 are configured to be concurrently accommodated in the engaging groove 135, and the cutting blade 22 starts cutting the cutting groove 133 as shown in FIG. 11 while the blade protector is pressing the rim bottom of the opening plate 132 of the storage tube 130 when the upper cap rotates and is loosened.

The lower sides of the cutting blade 22 and the blade protector 310 define a bridge groove 312 with certain width and height, and as shown in FIG. 6, a guide dam 134, which is uniformly protruded upward, is formed from the start point to the end point of the engaging groove 135, and the guide dam 134 is configured to help guide the movement of the bridge groove 312.

At the end portion of the guide dam 134 is provided a protrusion 136 which is pressed by the bridge groove 312 in order for the opening plate 132 to fast open downward. In the engaging groove 135 is formed a hinge line which is tilted after the cutting groove 133 is cut while it works as a reference surface. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 12, the hinge line performs a hinge function with the aid of a hinge groove 235b thinly formed at the engaging groove protrusion part 135a. As shown in FIG. 10, an end slope surface 135c is formed from the end point where the cutting groove line 133b ends, to the engaging groove protrusion part 135a. At the end slope surface 135c is formed an auxiliary hinge groove 135d extending from the hinge groove 135b. Since the auxiliary hinge groove 135d and the hinge groove 135b are formed with an obtuse angle, when the opening plate 132 is tilted once, it won't recover once again while maintaining the opened state.

As shown in FIG. 9, it is preferred that the width of the cutting blade 22 is larger than the width of the blade protector 310. In other words, the blade protector 310 is configured to have a width larger than the width of the cutting blade 22 so that the blade protector 310 can be positioned closer to the front side than the cutting blade 22 when viewing in the loosening direction of the upper cap 300b.

At the forge prevention skirt 112 of the lower cap 110 and the skirt 30 of the upper cap 300b are formed indicators “a” and “b” which are configured to guide the in-place assembling.

In the thusly constructed present invention, an additive to be added is stored in the storage tube 130 of the fixing member 100 as shown in FIG. 8. The additive might be formed in a form of powder or in a form of liquid or granule. The inner cylinder 78 of the operation member 300 is engaged to position at the inner diameter portion of the storage tube 130. It should be careful during the engagement that since both the cutting blade 22 and the blade protector 310 are downwardly extending with the interval of the bridge groove 312 at the lower side of the inner cylinder 78, it is needed to match the vertical positions of the indicators “a” and “b” as shown in FIG. 5 so that it can be accurately engaged to the engaging groove 135 of the opening plate 132 accommodating it. Afterward, the upper cap 300b turns and is engaged from the state of FIG. 6 to the state of FIG. 7.

When capping the lower cap 110 at the opening of the container (not shown), the inner cylinder 78 is accommodated into the interior of the opening of the container.

In the accommodated state of the inner cylinder 78, both the cutting blade 22 and the blade protector 310 having a width large than that of the cutting blade 22 and positioned at an earlier angle position than the position when cutting stay together in the engaging groove 135. In this state, when the upper cap 300b is rotated in the loosening direction, the opening plate 132 operates pressing downward the bottom surface, and the cutting blade easily cuts the cutting groove in a state that the opening plate 132 is pressed downward, the construction of which results in an easier cutting operation even when the thickness of the portion of the cutting groove 133 is relatively thicker than when a cutting blade is simply used. If the portion of the cutting groove 133 is formed thicker, it means that the penetration of moisture can be more effectively prevented, thus enhancing the reliability of products and since the additive can be prevented from going bad, the durability of the product can be enhanced.

The present invention is directed to cutting the cutting groove while the upper cap 300b is being loosened, so it is sloped to match with the screw slope of the upper threads 128. In the present invention, a guide dam 134 with a certain height is formed at the inner side of the cutting groove 133, and at the inner diameter portion of the guide dam 134, it is guided that the blade protector 310 presses the bottom surface of the opening plate 132, so the guide dam 134 works as a rail, and the cutting blade 22 is forced to cut the cutting groove 133 without causing errors since the cutting position and depth are constant. As the cutting starts at the engaging groove 135 and it reaches the end portion of the guide dam 134, the bridge groove 312 presses the protrusion 136 of FIG. 11 protruded in an upwardly sloped shape with the aid of the rotational force when the upper cap 300b is loosened, so the opening plate 132 can be fast opened. In this case, when inverting the engaging groove protrusion 135a from its backside, the initial state cutting blade 22 starts cutting at the point “d” of FIG. 12, and the pressing operation of the blade protector 310 is performed at a portion away as much as a certain angle (∂) from the point “e”. The pressing surface is of an initial pressing slope surface 135e, thus generating a force that is applied to the outer side of the opening plate 132, which enables the cutting blade 22 cut easily. The cutting blade 22 moves along the cutting groove line 133b, and the cutting is conducted while the blade protector 310 is pressing the rim portions of the opening plate 132 and when the pressing operation is conducted while the bridge groove 312 approaches the point where the protrusion 136 is pressed, as shown in FIG. 15 the hinge groove 135b and the auxiliary hinge groove 135d are tilted and open from the states of FIGS. 5, 10 and 12 to the states of FIGS. 13 and 14.

A push and pull cap 200 might be further provided at the tube which is extending upward from the upper surface of the upper cap 300b.

As the opening plate 132 is tilted, the inner additive is added into the stuff of the container, so the user separates the upper cap 300b and eats or drinks the stuff via the extension tube 131. In this case, the operation member 300 including the separated upper cap 300b has a blade protector 310 wider and longer than the cutting blade 22 even when the cutting blade 22 is exposed. When a child unintentionally holds the cutting blade 22, the children can feel like he is holding like the blade protector 310, so the user can be protected from the hurts by the cutting blade 22.

FIGS. 18 to 20 are views according to another embodiment of the present invention. The container cap having a blade protector according to another embodiment of the present invention comprises a fixing member 100 which includes a lower cap 110 which is engaged to an outer surface of an opening 12 of a container via an engaging shoulder 115 engaged to a surface (preferably, an upper surface of it) of the opening 12 of the container; a storage tube 130 which is extending downward from an inner surface of the engaging shoulder 115 and is configured to store an additive in it and snug-fits an inner wall of the container; and an opening plate 132 which has an engaging groove 135 formed at part of the bottom of the storage tube 130 and configured to concurrently accommodate a cutting blade 22 and a blade protector 310; and an operation member 300 which includes an upper cap 300b which is screw-engaged with a container thread 14 of an opening of the container 10; an inner cylinder 78 which is extending downward from the center of the bottom of the upper cap 300b; a cutting blade 22 which is protruded from a lower side of the inner cylinder 78; and a band-shaped blade protector 310 which is protruded in a coaxial direction from the inner cylinder 78 for the purpose of protecting the blades of the cutting blade 22, wherein the cutting blade 22 and the blade protector 310 are configured to be concurrently accommodated in the engaging groove 135, and the cutting blade 22 starts cutting the cutting groove 133 while the blade protector is pressing the rim bottom of the opening plate 132 of the storage tube 130 when the upper cap rotates and is loosened.

As shown in FIGS. 19 and 20, there is further provided a one-directional engaging protrusion 15 for preventing loosening on an outer surface of the opening 12 of the container, and at its countering inner surface of the lower cap 110 is formed a loosening prevention slope protrusion 114 which is engaged to be positioned in a space between the engaging protrusions 15.

The engaging protrusion 15 is characterized in that a protrusion is sloped at an acute angle on a vertical surface and its countering loosening prevention slope protrusion 114 is formed at the same acute angle.

The lower sides of the cutting blade 22 and the blade protector 310 define a bridge groove 312 with certain width and height, and a guide dam 134, which is uniformly protruded upward, is formed from the start point to the end point of the engaging groove 135, and the guide dam 134 is configured to help guide the movement of the bridge groove 312.

At the end portion of the guide dam 134 is provided a protrusion 136 which is pressed by the bridge groove 312 in order for the opening plate 132 to fast open downward.

The width of the blade protector 310 is wider than the width of the cutting blade 22 and is positioned closer to the front side rather than the blades in the loosening direction of the upper cap 300b.

At the engaging groove 135 and the opening plate 132 is formed a pressing slope surface 135e which obliquely connects the engaging grooves 135 and the opening plate 132 and provides an initial pressing force of the blade protector 310.

According to the thusly constituted another embodiment of the present invention, the operations that the operation member 300 with the upper cap 300b and the fixing member 100 with the lower cap 110 are engaged and the inner additive is added into the interior of the container are same as the earlier embodiment of the present invention, so the operations will be omitted. Only the different features that the lower cap is engaged to the opening of the container and the function that the lower cap is fixed when separating the upper cap will be described below.

The lower cap 110 is characterized in that the storage tube 130 snug-fits the inner surface of the opening of the container, and an one-directional engaging protrusion 15 formed on an outer surface of the opening 12 of the container is formed on its outer surface, and a loosening prevention slope protrusion 114 is formed as shown in FIG. 14 on the lower cap 10 which corresponds thereto. As such the rotation in the loosening direction (counterclockwise direction) of the lower cap 110 is prevented, and the locking direction (clockwise direction) is possible.

When the inner additive is added to the interior of the container while opening the opening plate 132 as the upper cap 300b is loosened, the lower cap 110 is intended to loosen along with the upper cap; however as shown in FIG. 20, the engaging shoulder 15b of the engaging protrusion 15 is sloped with an acute angle from the vertical surface, the loosening prevention slope protrusion 114 of the lower cap 110 is formed to have a slope with the same acute angle, so the portion of the lower cap 110 is prevented from rising upward. The storage tube 130 snug-fits the inner wall of the opening of the container. Even when part of the engaging force of the snug-fits is lost, the lower cap 110 won't separate with the aid of the cooperation of the slope engaging protrusion 15 formed on the outer wall of the opening 11 of the container and the loosening prevention slope protrusion 114 of its countering lower cap, so it maintains a fixed state.
