YOGA BLOCKS WITH BOW-SHAPED CROSS-SECTIONS
A yoga block includes two opposite side surfaces, and a convex cambered surface, a plane surface. The yoga block allows users to achieve or maintain certain poses, stretches, exercises or therapeutic positions. Because of the bow-shaped cross-section, the center of gravity of the yoga block is lower than the center of gravity of the conventional rectangular or brick shaped yoga block. Therefore, the yoga block is more stable during operation when being located on the ground. Any risk of injury is reduced or eliminated due to the yoga block is toppled over during operation.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a yoga block, and more particularly but not by any way of limitation, to a yoga block with a convex cambered surface to make such blocks much easier and more safe to use.
2. Related Art
Those who practice yoga employ blocks in order to support a number of established positions. Without such blocks, it would be very difficult to take full advantage of the benefits that yoga exercise can provide. These blocks are generally rectangular or brick shaped or, alternatively, triangularly shaped.
Yoga blocks are generally used in pairs as they are employed by each hand or by each foot of a user. The blocks can be of equal size or can be of different sizes depending upon the yoga exercise being performed and the yoga position being maintained.
The yoga block is used by a yoga practitioner to assist in certain poses, positions, stretches or asanas, usually those that require reaching the hand or hands to the floor. When the yoga practitioner is not able to reach the floor, the yoga block provides an elevated surface that allows the practitioner to carry out the pose, position, stretch or asana without unnecessary strain and pain. However, the rectangular or brick shaped blocks are not easy to grip and may cause to topple over to make the practitioner injure.
It would be highly desirable to increase the safety of the yoga block during operation.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONTo solve the aforementioned problems of the prior art, the present invention provides a yoga block to increase the safety of the yoga block during operation.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a yoga block to increase various using methods.
Accordingly, the present invention discloses a yoga block with a bow-shaped cross-section with a convex cambered side and a string. In other words, the yoga block 1 includes two opposite side surfaces and a convex cambered surface, a plane surface.

The yoga block 1 is a block with substantially the same cross-sectional shape. The cross-sectional shape is a bow-shaped cross-section with a convex cambered side 13 and a string 14. In other words, the yoga block 1 includes two opposite side surfaces 15, 16 and a convex cambered surface 12, a plane surface 11. When the yoga block 1 of this invention is placed on a ground for the yoga practitioner, the plane surface 11 is against the ground, and the yoga practitioner grips the convex cambered surface 12. The convex cambered surface 12 is easier to grip than a rectangular surface of the conventional yoga block. Also, due to the bow-shaped cross-section, the center of gravity of the yoga block 1 of this invention is lower than the center of gravity of the conventional rectangular or brick shaped yoga block. Therefore, the yoga block 1 is more stable during operation when being located on the ground. Any risk of injury is reduced or eliminated due to the yoga block is toppled over during operation.

When the yoga block 12 is placed on the ground by the convex cambered surface 12, the yoga practitioner lies on the plane surface 11 to perform some yoga exercises. For example, please refer to
Excepting for the above mention poses, the yoga block 1 could help the yoga practitioner to perform more other yoga exercises. For example, the yoga practitioner can sit on the yoga block 1 to make the pelvis be higher during sitting. Therefore, the alignment of the spine during meditation is improved. Also, the yoga block 1 can be put below the heel to help alignment of the spine, not shown in figures. For half-moon pose, the yoga block 1 helps to improve flexibility to stretch the arms. For bridge pose, the yoga block 1 can provide well support.
Moreover, the yoga block 1 is made of innocuous material to increase safety during using.
While an illustrative and presently preferred embodiment of the invention has been described in detail herein, it is to be understood that the inventive concepts may be otherwise variously embodied and employed and that the appended claims are intended to be construed to include such variations except insofar as limited by the prior art.
Claims
1. A yoga block comprising a bow-shaped cross-section with a convex cambered side and a string.
2. The yoga block of claim 1, wherein the yoga block is made of innocuous material.
3. A yoga block comprising two opposite side surfaces, and a convex cambered surface, a plane surface.
4. The yoga block of claim 3, wherein the yoga block is made of innocuous material.
5. A yoga block assembly, comprising a plurality of yoga blocks, each yoga block includes two opposite side surfaces, and a convex cambered surface, a plane surface, wherein the yoga blocks are kept close to each other to form a wider convex cambered surface.
6. The yoga block of claim 5, wherein a yoga practitioner lies down to the wider convex cambered surface to release the stress of the back during yoga exercises.
