CROSS PENDANT
The pendant of the present invention is a uniquely designed jewelry accessory in the form of a cross or a crucifix. The top part of the cross or crucifix is completely open, symbolizing the resurrection of the spirit of Jesus Christ after his body died on the cross. The pendant hangs from a chain that forms a triangular shape.
The Christian cross, generally seen as a representation of the instrument of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, is the best-known religious symbol of Christianity. It is related to the crucifix (a cross that includes a representation of Jesus' body) and to the more general family of cross symbols. The cross-shaped sign is represented in its simplest form by a crossing of two lines at right angles.
The cross is often shown in different shapes, sizes, and styles and is used not just for its ornamental value, but also for its religious significance. Specifically, it is generally shown as both empty and in crucifix form, that is, with a figure of Christ affixed to it. Roman Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran depictions of the cross are often crucifixes, in order to emphasize that it is Jesus that is important, rather than the cross in isolation. However, some other Protestant traditions depict the cross without the corpus, interpreting this form as an indication of belief in the resurrection rather than as representing the interval between the death and the resurrection of Jesus. Regardless of the interpretation, none of the existing crosses or crucifixes truly embodies and symbolizes the resurrection of the spirit of Jesus Christ after his body died on the cross.
Thus, what is needed is a symbol of eternal salvation that will serve as a reminder of Jesus' last miracle on the cross, when he looked up to heaven and said: “Father, to you, I command my spirit” and his spirit went up from the cross.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe cross pendant of the present invention is a unique cross design never before seen on any cross.
According to an aspect of the invention, the top part of the cross is completely open, symbolizing the resurrection of the spirit of Jesus Christ after his body died on the cross.
According to another aspect of the invention, the cross hangs from a chain that forms a triangular shape.
According to still another aspect of the invention, the triangular shape chain is attached to separate parts of the top of said cross. An opening separates the parts.
According to a further aspect of the invention, the cross has a first end portion, a second end portion and a middle portion longitudinally extending between said first end portion and said second end portion.
According to another aspect of the invention, the length of the middle portion forms a cross, wherein the first end portion and the second end portion are located at an uppermost position of said cross, unconnected and separated by an opening.
According to one aspect of the invention, a cross has a pass-through opening extending across said cross, said pass-through opening also defined by interior surfaces of said cross and an opening located at an uppermost position of said cross.
According to another aspect of the invention, the opening is structurally connected to the interior surfaces and not enclosing the pass-through opening.
According to still another aspect of the invention, a cross is made by a shaping element that forms the shape of said cross.
According to a further aspect of the invention, a pass-through opening extending across the cross is defined by the shaping element and an upper opening that prevents enclosing said pass-through opening.
These and other aspects and advantages of the present invention are more apparent from the following detailed description and claims, particularly when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. In the drawings:
