Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a wig, and, more particularly, to a volume-enhanced wig with a volume-imparting portion in which wires or wire-like members are installed to effectively impart volume to a wig being worn by a wearer so that the wearer can have good appearance by wearing the wig.

2. Description of the Related Art

Korean Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2006-0119371 discloses a wig according a related art.

Generally, wigs can be classified into full-head wigs, partial wigs (called toupees or hairpieces), and special wigs for bald persons. General wigs include a wig cap having a convex shape conforming to the shape of wearer's skull, and strands of hair attached to the wig cap. The wig cap is generally in the form of a synthetic fiber mesh or a mesh-like material made of polyurethane, polyester, or the like, or in the form of artificial skin based on a flexible synthetic resin such as polyurethane, polycarbonate, or the like. The hair of the wig is generally natural hair, synthetic hair, or a blend of both.

Many strands of natural hair or synthetic hair are anchored in the wig cap formed of a mesh or a mesh-like material to form a wig. Each strand of hair forms a pair of hair portions extending from the surface of the wig cap by being fixed to the wig cap. The structure of the wig cap made of the flexible artificial skin is similar to that of the wig cap made of a mesh or a mesh-like material.

When attaching or fixing strands of hair to the wig cap formed of a mesh, appropriate direction and arrangement of the strands of hair are selected according to the wishes of a wearer from among a wide selection of directions and arrangements of the strands of hair. In any case, in order to prevent knots from becoming loosened, various types of knots have been attempted.

However, such a conventional wig is flexible overall, so the wig fits too tightly to the skull of the wearer while a wearer is wearing the wig. Moreover, even though the wig is formed to be voluminous, since the wig does not have a support structure therein, the volume of the wig is reduced even when a slight external impact is applied to the wig. For this reason, even though the wearer is wearing the wig, the wearer may look like they are not wearing a wig.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the related art, and is intended to provide a volume-enhanced wig that can exhibit good volume especially when it is being worn by a wearer so that it helps the wearer has a good appearance.

In order to achieve the object, according to one aspect of the present invention, a volume-enhanced wig including a wig body having a volume-imparting portion in which wires or wire-like members are installed is provided.

The wires or the wire-like members may be arranged in a matrix, and may include copper wires and synthetic resin wires, wherein the volume-imparting portion may include a mesh portion to be installed near hair roots, the wires or the wire-like members are installed in the mesh portion, and the mesh portion has a frame portion around sides thereof which is formed by a sewing line.

The volume-enhanced wig according to the invention has the following advantages.

First, the volume-enhanced wig includes the wig body with the volume-imparting portion. In the volume-imparting portion, wires or wire-like members are installed to effectively give volume to the wig, to help the wig keep the volume even if an external impact is applied thereto, and to effectively correct the shape of a wearer's skull in a way that a wearer wishes so that the wig looks voluminous and thus the wearer can have a good appearance.

Second, the wires or the wire-like members are arranged in a matrix so that the wig is effectively given good volume.

Third, the wires or the wire-like members include copper wires and synthetic resin wires so that the wires or the wire-like members may not be exposed even when an external impact is applied to the wires or the wire-like members and the volume of the wig is stably maintained.

Lastly, the mesh portion is installed near the root of hair in the volume-imparting portion, the wires or the wire-like members are installed in the mesh portion, and the mesh portion has the frame portion around the sides thereof, which is formed by a sewing line. Accordingly, the volume-imparting portion has a natural circular arch shape which is very similar to the shape of the wearer's skull, which means that the volume-imparting portion looks natural.

FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view illustrating the inside structure of the wig according to the embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Hereinbelow, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

For reference, like numerals in the related art described above and embodiments of the present invention designate like parts, so the structure of such parts may not be redundantly described in detail but can be understood by referring to the related art described above.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, a volume-enhanced wig according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a wig body 100 with a volume-imparting portion 120. In the volume-imparting portion 120, wires or wire-like members 130 are installed.

The wig body 100 has a curved shape conforming to the shape of the skull of a person so that the wig can be brought into tight contact with wearer's head, and the wig body 100 has a flexible structure. The volume-imparting portion 120 is provided at a portion of the wig which corresponds to the top of the head of a wearer.

In the wig body 100 and the volume-imparting portion 120, synthetic hair is implanted.

Alternatively, the volume-imparting portion 120 may be provided at a different portion in the wig body 100.

The volume-imparting portion 120 is formed to be continuous from the wig body 100.

The volume-imparting portion 120 includes a mesh portion 160 installed nearer the root of the hair.

The volume-imparting portion 120 further includes the wires or wire-like members 130 installed in the mesh portion 160.

The wires or the wire-like members 130 are inserted in respective insertion spaces 161 which are provided in the mesh portion 160 and arranged to form a grid. Each of the insertion spaces 161 is provided by sewing two sheets of mesh material 160 together.

Therefore, multiple wires or wire-like members 130 are arranged in a matrix. Because of the matrix-shaped arrangement of the wires or the wire-like members 130, a curved volume shape can be effectively maintained.

The wires or the wire-like members 130 may be formed of a shape-memory alloy.

The wires or the wire-like elements 130 include any suitable materials comprises copper wires 131 and synthetic resin wires 132.

The copper wires 131 are formed by coating the surface of a metal-based core such as a copper-based core having sufficient strength to maintain its shape with a synthetic resin.

Because of the copper wires 131, the volume can be stably maintained.

The synthetic resin wires 132 are made of a synthetic resin such as PVC.

As described above, the wires or the wire-like members 130 include the synthetic resin wires 132 so that it is possible to prevent the copper wires 131 from protruding out of the mesh portion and thus be exposed when they break and to provide a natural looking volume portion 120.

In addition, the mesh portion 160 has a frame portion 140 formed of a sewing line around the sides thereof. The frame portion 140 prevents an interval between the wires or the wire-like members 130 from being widened even if the wires or the wire-like members are curved. The frame portion 140 also has an advantage of preventing threads of the mesh portion 160 from being unraveled.

The frame portion 140 allows the volume-imparting portion 120 to have a natural circular arc shape. That is, the volume-imparting portion 120 has a shape that is similar to the shape of a wearer's skull so that the volume-imparting portion 120 looks very natural.

In addition, in the volume-imparting portion 120, cloth 150 is provided at a portion nearest a forehead portion of the wig.

The volume-imparting portion 120 effectively imparts volume to the wig according to the present embodiment, especially to a portion corresponding to the top of the wearer's skull, so that the wig has good volume and thus the wearer can have a good appearance.

The cloth 150 has a smooth texture so that the wearer may not feel unpleasant when the cloth 150 contacts the skin of the wearer. The cloth 150 is also an airy and perspiration-absorbing material so that the wig is convenient to use.

The cloth 150 is a material to which a Velcro tape can be attached so that an auxiliary wig 200 can be attached to the cloth 150. In the case in which the auxiliary wig 200 is attached, the volume of the wig is more enhanced so that the wearer can have a better appearance.

Band portions 170 are provided at lower portions of both sides of a back portion 110 of the wig body 100.

The band portions 170 and the wig body 100 are coupled to each other by a first coupling member 180.

The coupling member 180 may be a Velcro tape.

Through the band portion 170, the circumferential length of the wig body 100 can be adjusted to fit the size of the skull of the wearer, so that the wearer can have a good wearing sensation when wearing the wig.

The band portion 170 may be formed of a flexible and expandable material (a slightly elastic material).

A second coupling member 181 is provided at the center of the lower portion of the back portion 110 of the wig body 100, that is, between the band portions 170.

The second coupling member 181 may be a Velcro tape like the first coupling member 180. The second coupling member 181 can be integrally formed with the first coupling member 180.

The auxiliary wig 200 can be added to the wig body 100 with use of the second coupling member 181.

Because of the second coupling member 181, the hair of the wig can be adjusted so that the length and volume of the hair can be increased.

As described above, although a preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
