Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a baby play yard mattress, especially to a baby play yard mattress applied to a foldable frame and able to be folded together with the foldable frame being folded.

2. Description of Related Art

Refer to FIG. 5, a frame of baby play yards available now includes an upper frame 3, a lower frame 4 and four vertical members 5. Each of four sides of the upper frame 3 is disposed with a foldable joint 31 having a first locking member 32 therein. An upper corner seat 33 made from hard material and used for connecting two adjacent sides of the upper frame 3 and the vertical member 5 is arranged at each of four corners of the upper frame 3. A lower end of each vertical member 5 is connected to the lower frame 4 by a foot base 51. Each of four bottom rods 41 of the lower frame 4 is extended from the corresponding foot base 51 to a center of the power frame 4 and a base 42 is set at the intersection of the bottoms rods 41. Moreover, a second locking member 43 is arranged between two bottom rods 41. By the first locking member 32 and the second locking member 43, the play yard or a baby crib is fixed in an extended state. While the user intends to fold the play yard or the baby crib, both the first locking member 32 and the second locking member 43 are released from the locked state at the same time. Then the lower frame 4 is pulled upward and folded from the base 42 and the four sides of the upper frame 3 are folded and moved toward a center thereof.

However, the above baby play yard has following disadvantages during manufacturing and in use:

1. The frame of baby play yards available now is folded by the lower frame being pulled upward from the base and four sides of the upper frame being folded and moved toward the center thereof. While folding the frame, a mattress paved on the lower frame needs to be removed firstly and then stored outside the folded frame. When the frame is extended for use, the mattress is paved on the lower frame again. This causes inconvenience and trouble to users while folding or extending the baby play yard.
2. The baby play yard mattress available now is mainly composed at least four plates assembled with sponge and fabric. When babies step or walk on the connection areas of the mattress, the plate is deformed, curved or turned up easily. Thus babies may feel uncomfortable or even fall down and get hurts.

Thus the baby play yard mattress available now still have above shortcomings in use and while being folded and there is room for improvement and a need to provide a novel mattress.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore it is a primary object of the present invention to provide a baby play yard mattress that is used together with a foldable bed frame and is folded together with the foldable bed frame.

In order to achieve the above object, a baby play yard mattress of the present invention is set on a lower frame of a foldable frame and having a back veneer. One side of the back veneer is disposed with slots corresponding to a folded area of the lower frame. The back veneer of the baby play yard mattress is divided into a plurality of sections by the slots. Thus the back veneer is folded along the slots when the lower frame is folded and then two sections on two ends of the back veneer are facing each other.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a baby play yard mattress 1 of the present invention includes a back veneer 11 that looks like a board. The back veneer 11 is composed of two plates 112, a plurality of ribs 113 disposed between and integrated with the plates 112, and a plurality of hollow parts 114 formed by the ribs 113. A plurality of slots 111 is arranged at one side of the back veneer 11 so that the back veneer 11 is divided into a plurality of sections by the slots 111 while a soft pad 12 made from sponge is disposed on the side of the back veneer 11 having the slots. In this embodiment, the slots 111 are arranged in pairs. A cover layer 13 made from fabric is covered over the soft pad 12 and a periphery of the cover layer 13 is sewed to the soft pad 12.

As shown in FIG. 3, while in use, the baby play yard mattress 1 of the present invention is used together with a foldable frame 2. The frame 2 of baby play yards consists of an upper frame 21, four vertical parts 22, a lower frame 23, four support parts 24, two joints 25 and two fastening parts 26. The upper frame 21 includes two upper frame parts 211 connected to each other by the two joints 25. The ends of each upper frame part 211 are pivoted to the joints 25. The lower frame 23 includes two lower frame parts 231 pivoted to the fastening parts 26 and two supporters 232, each of which is connected to the fastening part 26. A top end and a bottom end of each vertical part 22 are respectively connected and pivoted to the two upper frame parts 211 and the two lower frame parts 231. The support part 24 is set between the vertical part 22 and the upper frame part 211. Thus the foldable frame 2 is formed. The slots 111 of the baby play yard mattress 1 are corresponding to a connection area between the two lower frame parts 231 of the foldable frame 2, and preferred corresponding to two sides of the connection area between the two lower frame parts 231.

Back to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, parents or baby sitters or caregivers firstly release the joints 25 and the fastening parts 26 on the upper frame 21 and on the lower frame 23 respectively from the locked state. Thus the frame 2 of baby play yards is extended. The upper frame 21, the lower frame 23 and the vertical parts 22 connected between the upper frame 21 and the lower frame 23 of the extended frame 2 are connected to form a space. When the frame 2 is extended, the baby play yard mattress 1 on the lower frame 23 of the frame 2 is also extended and paved on the lower frame 23. After both the frame 2 and the baby play yard mattress 1 being extended, the joints 25 and the fastening parts 26 are locked again. Thus babies can safely play and sleep in the space formed by the stable frame 2 with the soft baby play yard mattress 1 on the bottom thereof.

When babies are playing in the space formed by the frame 2 and stepping on the baby play yard mattress 1, the baby play yard mattress 1 will not be deformed, curved or turned up because the slots 111 are only disposed on one side of the back veneer 11 of the baby play yard mattress 1 while the other side of the back veneer 11 is still an integrated and connected part. Thus babies can play and walk comfortably in the baby play yard due to the other side of the back veneer 11 that provides good support and sufficient strength. When babies lie on and sleep on the baby play yard mattress 1, the baby play yard mattress 1 provides good support, allowing babies sleep as comfortably as on the bed surface.

While not in use, refer to FIG. 4, the two upper frame parts 211 of the upper frame 21 and the two lower frame parts 231 of the lower frame 23 are folded toward to each other. At the same time, the baby play yard mattress 1 on the lower frame 23 is also folded by the slots 111 corresponding to the connection area of the two lower frame parts 231 thereof. Then two sections on two ends of the back veneer 11 of the folded baby play yard mattress 1 are facing each other. Therefore the baby play yard mattress 1 is folded together with the frame 2 simultaneously.

In summary, the baby play yard mattress 1 of the present invention has following advantages:

1. No matter the frame is folded for storage or extended in use, there is no need to remove the baby play yard mattress. Thus such design is more convenient and easy for users. On the other hand, the mattress of other baby play yards needs to be removed while the frame being folded or extended and this cause inconvenience and trouble to users.
2. Only one side of the back veneer is disposed with slots while the other side of the back veneer is an integrated and connected part. Thus the strength and support of the back veneer of the baby play yard mattress are improved. The mattress will not be deformed or turned up while babies stepping, walking, lying, or sleeping on the mattress. The babies are more comfortable and safe on the mattress.
3. During manufacturing, a cover layer is covered over the back veneer and the soft pad after the soft pad paved on the back veneer in the present invention. Then a periphery of the cover layer is fixed. The manufacturing processes are simple and production efficiency is high.
