Description
CROSS REFERENCE OF RELATED APPLICATION

This is a non-provisional application that claims the benefit of priority under 35 U.S.C.§119 to a provisional application, application No. 61/665,308, filed Jun. 28, 2012.

BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a DIY frame for picture or poster, and more to particularly to a frame kit for supporting and displaying a large-scale sheet-like object such as a poster or a picture.

2. Description of Related Arts

Posters or pictures are widely used in the marketing materials for promoting a business. For example, a poster or a picture may be used in a store for attracting customers. A poster or a picture may also be required for use in an exhibition or a trade-show. However, conventional method of mounting or supporting a picture or poster involves a large scale poster or picture frame which is very expensive in nature. After a picture or poster is mounted onto a frame, the frame is then supported by a support stand for supporting onto a ground surface. Because of the size of the poster or the picture is usually very large, the weight of the frame and the support stand are proportional to the size of the picture or the poster and the cost of providing a frame is very high.

In particular, a regular frame generally includes four side units which peripherally enclose the poster or the picture, a front transparent cover and a back support board unit. The poster or the picture is sandwiched by the front transparent cover and the back support board unit while the front transparent cover and the back support board unit are connected to the four side units and secure into position through a groove like structure provided on the side units. Accordingly, the frame and the poster or the picture of a particular size have to be perfectly matched with each other. In other words, the regular frame is required to be customized for a picture of a particular size, which is cost ineffectively and time consuming.

Poster or Picture printing becomes more and more common and self-servicing printing services are also available. The advanced technological development in digital camera and computer has also facilitated the act of taking picture or poster design by lay person. While the cost of taking picture or poster design and the cost of printing are lowered, which is especially important to small to medium sized businesses, the cost of showing and displaying a poster or picture remains at a high level because of the high cost of picture or poster frame.

In addition, because the dimension of a particular picture frame is fixed, the picture frame cannot be used for other picture of different dimension. When the poster or the picture is used for marketing purpose in an exhibition or a trade show, it is highly likely that the same picture or poster will not be used repeatedly and it is also highly likely that the dimension requirement of the picture frame may be varied to fit the exhibition area or the display area. Therefore, the particular picture frame which is fit for use for a first occasion may not be fit for use for a second occasion. This type of picture frame, which does not provide any size flexibilities, is not only environmental unfriendly, but also cost ineffectively.

Furthermore, because the dimension of a particular frame is fixed, it is not convenience for storage for future use or for transportation or carriage. For example, after the particular frame is used in an exhibition or a trade show, the frame can neither be disassembled for transportation, nor packed into a compact size for storage.
