Inclined Platform for Male Urination
An inclined platform providing an uphill surface for a standing, human male during the process of urination. The uphill surface providing a more natural stance for the male human than does a level floor. The inclined platform consisting of three sections; a left end section, a right end section and a connecting center section. The inclined platform being composed of light weight material, thus allowing it to be portable to be set in front of a urinal or toilet. The left end section shaped to accomodate the left foot of the human male and the right end section shaped to accomodate the right foot of the human male. The end sections providing the uphill surface. The center section joining the end sections and keeping them properly spaced and in alignment.
This invention relates to the standing posture of a human male during the process of urination. Years before indoor plumbing came to be, males often urinated outdoors. Typically, human males, when given a choice, prefer to stand, facing uphill near a wall or tree. This preference can be found recorded in ancient literature, and is also mentioned in the text of the Holy Bible (e.g. I Samuel 25:22).
The uphill stance allows the human male to lean more forward, thus assisting and helping the muscles involved in the process of human, male urination. This ability to lean more forward is especially helpful to the aged or infirmed, as their muscles may have become weakened.
Since the advent of indoor plumbing, human males have been forced to stand on level flooring, thus taking away the helpful, uphill stance. This is, unfortunately, also true in hospitals and nursing homes where an uphill stance might be needed most.
Prior art has failed to address this problem. Although there have been inclined foot rests invented, these are designed for the human (male or female) in the seated position upon a toilet or water closet—to rest the legs or feet—not to provide an uphill stance upon a level floor for the process of male urination.
In this invention, an uphill inclined platform, with an inclination of approximately ten degrees is placed in front of a toilet or urinal to allow a standing human male to stand slightly uphill on an otherwise level floor. Thus affording the standing, human male a more natural posture for the process of male urination.
The inclined platform being portable, so as to be placed or removed as needed. The inclined platform also being recessed in the center, to allow for closer placement to a toilet, when a male urinal is not available. The inclined platform also having a slip resistant bottom and slip resistant ends where the front part of both of the user's feet contact the inclined platform.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThis invention affords a human male the ability to stand uphill when facing a toilet or urinal setting upon an otherwise level floor. This is accomplished by a portable, inclined platform, consisting of two inclined foot pads, one on each end, joined together by a recessed center section that maintains the proper distance between the footpads and also keeps the footpads aligned with one another. The recessed center also allows the end footpads to be placed closer to a toilet, so that the standing, human male is able to stand as close as necessary to a toilet when urinal is not available. Being portable, the inclined platform can be placed or removed as needed. The inclination of the platform being just enough to provide a more natural uphill stance without being so steep as to throw the standing, human male off balance.

While there has been shown and described a preferred embodiment of the portable inclined platform of this invention, it is understood that changes in materials, sizes, shapes and colors can be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the invention. The invention is defined in the following claims.
Claims
1. A platform used to assist the standing posture of a male human during the process of urination, said platform comprising an inclined plane, said inclined plane sloping up in front of said male human, thus enabling said male human to feel like he is standing uphill rather than on a level floor, thus enabling said male human to lean more forward, providing a better standing posture for said process of urination.
2. The platform of claim 1 with said inclined plane comprising a left end section, a right end section joined by a center section, said left end section shaped to accomodate the front of an out turned left foot of said male human, said right end section shaped to accomodate the front of an out turned right foot of said male human during said process of urination, said center section joining said left end section and said right end section and keeping said left end section and said right end section in alignment; said center section also indented to set further back than said left end section and said right end section, thus enabling said platform to set closer to a regular toilet, thus allowing said left end section and said right end section to set further forward, thus enabling said male human to stand closer to said regular toilet during said process of urination.
3. The platform of claim 2 with said left end section and said right end section having a slip resistant bottom and a slip resistant top, said slip resistant bottom thus enabling said platform to remain in its placed position until it is moved, said slip resistant top helping to prevent said out turned left foot and said out turned right foot from slipping off said platform during use, thus facilitating safer usage of said platform; said platform being composed of plastic, rigid foam or other light weight material to facilitate portability.
