PORTABLE ACCESSORY HOLDING DEVICE FOR BEACH USE

Abstract

An accessory holding device for inserting into a ground surface has a pole member. A tapered member is formed on a bottom section of the pole member for insertion in the ground surface. A plurality of leg members is coupled to the pole member, wherein at least one of the plurality of leg members has a tapered end for insertion in the ground surface, the plurality of leg members movable on the pole member to provide stability when the pole member is inserted into the ground surface. A first rack member is coupled to the pole member. Locking devices are coupled to the first rack member for securing items to the first rack member.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

This application generally relates to a device for hanging accessories, and more particularly, to a portable accessory holding device which may be used to hold a plurality of different items while at the beach and/or pool.

BACKGROUND

Presently, there are no convenient means for storing items when going to the beach and or pool (hereinafter beach). In some situations, people may use lockers to store valuable items such as a purse, backpack and the like when going to the beach. Unfortunately, most beaches do not have lockers. Even if there are lockers, the lockers are generally not located close to the beach area. Thus, a person may have to walk a few hundred yards to go to the locker. This is both inconvenient and time consuming for the beachgoer.

Beach umbrellas which may be inserted into the sand have been in use for many years. These types of umbrellas generally have a pole member which has a tapered base intended for being driven into the sand. Some of types of beach umbrellas have been designed to hold small items such as drinks and the like. Unfortunately, larger and heavier items are generally difficult to position, and hold on the beach umbrella. Most beach umbrellas are difficult to insert into the sand and have no anchor to prevent the beach umbrellas from moving. Thus, larger and heavier items often create balancing problems. Furthermore, present the beach umbrellas offer no secure way to store/hold valuable items such as purses, backpacks, and the like.

Therefore, a need existed to provide a system and method to overcome the above problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An accessory holding device for inserting into a ground surface has a pole member. A tapered member is formed on a bottom section of the pole member for insertion in the ground surface. A plurality of leg members is coupled to the pole member, the plurality of leg members movable on the pole member to provide stability when the pole member is inserted into the ground surface. A first rack member is coupled to the pole member. Locking devices are coupled to the first rack member for securing items to the first rack member.

DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLICATION

The description set forth below in connection with the appended drawings is intended as a description of preferred embodiments of the application and is not intended to represent the only forms in which the present application can be constructed and/or utilized. The description sets forth the functions and the sequence of steps for constructing and operating the application in connection with the illustrated embodiments. It is to be understood, however, that the same or equivalent functions and sequences can be accomplished by different embodiments that are also intended to be encompassed within the spirit and scope of this application.

Referring to the Figure, a portable accessory holding device 10 (hereinafter device 10) is shown. The device 10 may be used to hold and secure items at the beach, pool area or the like. The device 10 may have a pole member 12. The pole member 12 may be formed of a light-weight but sturdy material such as aluminum, plastic such as Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or the like. The above listing is given as an example and should not be seen in a limiting manner. The pole 12 may be of fixed length. Alternatively, the pole 12 may be telescoping to allow the pole 12 to be adjustable in height.

A tapered end 14 may be formed on a bottom section of the pole 12. The tapered end 14 may be used to allow the pole 12 to be inserted into the ground and to hold the pole 12 within the ground. To further provide stability to the device 10, a plurality of leg members 16 may be coupled to the pole 12. The leg members 16 are movably coupled to the pole 12 such that as the pole 12 is inserted into the ground, the leg members 16 spread out as the leg members 16 contact the ground. The leg members 16 may be limited in movement such that the legs members 16 may be extended to approximately perpendicular to the pole 12. The leg members 16 thus provide a broader base section for the device 10 thereby providing more stability when the device 10 is inserted into the ground. The leg members 16 may have a tapered end 16A. The tapered end 16A of the leg members 16 may allow the leg members 16 to stick into the ground to provide further stability to the device 10.

A table member 18 may be movable coupled to the pole 12. The table member 18 may be movable to adjust a height of the table member 18. The table member 18 may be used to place items such as drinks, food, or the like. The table member 18 may have one or more holders 20 formed therein. The holders 20 may be formed of different shapes such as a tubular, rectangular, or other indentation shape. The different shapes may allow different holders 20 to hold different items. Thus, holders 20 may be designed and/or shaped to hold different items such as drinks, bottles, napkins, MP3 players, and the like. A first rack member 22 may be attached to the pole 12. The first rack member 22 may be movable coupled to the pole 12. The first rack member 22 may be movable to adjust a height of the first rack member 22. The first rack member 22 may be formed of a bar member 24. The bar member 24 may be coupled to a sleeve 26. The sleeve 26 may allow one to move the first rack member 22 up/down the pole 12. The bar member 24 may have one or more hanging members 28. The hanging members 28 may be used to hold items such as a purse or the like. The above listing is given as an example and should not be seen in a limiting manner. A locking device 30 may be attached to the hanging member 28. The locking device 30 may be used to secure an item to the hanging member 28 to prevent the item from easily being removed from the hanging member 28. The locking device 30 may be a latching device, a key type locking aim, or the like. The above listing is given as an example and should not be seen in a limiting manner.

A second rack member 32 may be attached to the pole 12. The second rack member 32 may be movable coupled to the pole 12. The second rack member 32 may be movable to adjust a height of the second rack member 32. The second rack member 32 may be formed of a bar member 34. The bar member 34 may be coupled to a sleeve 36. The sleeve 36 may allow one to move the second rack member 32 up/down the pole 12. The bar member 34 may have one or more hanging members 38. The hanging members 38 may be used to hold items such as a purse or the like. The above listing is given as an example and should not be seen in a limiting manner. A locking device 40 may be attached to the hanging member 38. The locking device 30 may be used to secure an item to the hanging member 38 to prevent the item from easily being removed from the hanging member 38. The locking device 40 may be a latching device, a key type locking arm, or the like. The above listing is given as an example and should not be seen in a limiting manner.

The second rack member 32 may further have one or more towel holders 42. The towel holder 42 may allow one to hang a towel from the second rack member 32. The towel hold 42 may be a U shaped bar member 44 or the like. The towel holder 42 may allow a user to hang a towel 46 from the device 10 so that the towel 46 does not get dirty from sand or other items on the ground. The towel holder 42 may also be used to allow the towel 46 to dry after use. The towel holder 42 may allow one to spread out the towel to hang thereby allow the outdoor temperature and air to dry the towel 46.

One or more containers 48 may also be attached to the pole 12. The containers 48 may be used to store items of the user. The containers 48 may be used to hold items such as suntan lotion, or other items the user may need at the beach/pool.

A platform 50 may be positioned on the pole 12. In the present embodiment, the platform 50 is attached to a top section of the pole 12. The platform 50 may be used to place and hold an ice chest 52 or similar item on the device 10.

The device 10 may further have decorative items 54 attached to a top section of the pole 12. In the present embodiment, the decorative items 54 may take on the appearance of palm leaves or the like. The decorative items 54 may allow the device to take on an appearance of a palm tree or like item. The decorative items 54 may further provide shade to a user.

One or more lighting elements 56 may be attached to the decorative item 54. The lighting elements 56 may be used to illuminate the area around the device. The lighting elements 56 may be powered by a solar device 58 coupled to the lighting elements 56 or like device such as a battery, AC power supply or other power source.

One or more speakers 60 may be attached to any section of the pole 12. The speakers 60 may further be positioned on the table member 18. The speakers 60 may be coupled to a wire 62. In general, the wire 62 may be positioned in an interior of the pole 12 to conceal the wire 62. The wire 62 may allow a user to attach an MP3 player, cellular phone, tablets, or the like to allow music or other audio signals to be played through the speakers. The wire 62 may further be used to charge the aforementioned devices. The speakers 60 may be powered and the devices may be charged through the solar device 58 or like device such as a battery, AC power supply or other power source.

Claims

1. An accessory holding device for inserting into a ground surface comprising:

a pole member;

a tapered member formed on a bottom section of the pole member formed for insertion in the ground surface;

a plurality of leg members coupled to the pole member, the plurality of leg members movable on the pole member to provide stability when the pole member is inserted into the ground surface;

a first rack member coupled to the pole member; and

locking devices coupled to the first rack member for securing items to the first rack member.

2. The accessory holding device of claim 1, wherein the first rack member comprises:

a first bar member;

a sleeve attached to the first bar member and movable on the pole member; and

a plurality of hanging members attached to the first bar member;

wherein at least one of the plurality of hanging members has a locking device attached thereto.

3. The accessory holding device of claim 1, further comprising a second rack member coupled to the pole.

4. The accessory holding device of claim 3, wherein the second rack member comprises:

a second rack bar member;

a second rack sleeve attached to the second rack bar member and movable on the pole member;

a plurality of second rack hanging members attached to the second rack bar member; and

a towel holder attached to the second rack bar member.

5. The accessory holding device of claim 3, wherein the towel holder is a “U” shaped bar attached to the second rack bar member.

6. The accessory holding device of claim 1, further comprising a table movable coupled to the pole member.

7. The accessory holding device of claim 6, further comprising a plurality of holders formed within the table.

8. The accessory holding device of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of storage containers coupled to the pole member.

9. The accessory holding device of claim 1, further comprising a platform coupled to the pole member for holding an ice chest.

10. The accessory holding device of claim 1, further comprising shading device attached to a top section of the pole.

11. The accessory holding device of claim 10, further comprising lighting elements attached to the shading device.

12. An accessory holding device for inserting into a ground surface comprising:

a pole member;

a tapered member formed on a bottom section of the pole member for insertion in the ground surface;

a plurality of leg members coupled to the pole member, wherein at least one of the plurality of leg members has a tapered end for insertion in the ground surface, the plurality of leg members movable on the pole member to provide stability when the pole member is inserted into the ground surface;

a table movable coupled to the pole member;

a plurality of containers coupled to the pole member;

a first rack member coupled to the pole member; and

locking devices coupled to the first rack member for securing items to the first rack member.

13. The accessory holding device of claim 12, wherein the first rack member comprises:

a first bar member;

a sleeve attached to the first bar member and movable on the pole member; and

a plurality of hanging members attached to the first bar member;

wherein at least one of the plurality of hanging members has a locking device attached thereto.

14. The accessory holding device of claim 12, further comprising a second rack member coupled to the pole.

15. The accessory holding device of claim 14, wherein the second rack member comprises:

a second rack bar member;

a second rack sleeve attached to the second rack bar member and movable on the pole member;

a plurality of second rack hanging members attached to the second rack bar member; and

a towel holder attached to the second rack bar member.

16. The accessory holding device of claim 12, further comprising a plurality of holders formed within the table.

17. The accessory holding device of claim 12, further comprising a platform coupled to the pole member for holding an ice chest.

18. The accessory holding device of claim 12, further comprising shading device attached to a top section of the pole.

19. The accessory holding device of claim 12, further comprising lighting elements attached to the shading device.

20. An accessory holding device for inserting into a ground surface comprising:

a pole member;

a tapered member formed on a bottom section of the pole member for insertion in the ground surface;

a plurality of leg members coupled to the pole member, wherein at least one of the plurality of leg members has a tapered end for insertion in the ground surface, the plurality of leg members movable on the pole member to provide stability when the pole member is inserted into the ground surface;

a first rack member coupled to the pole member;

a second rack member coupled to the pole member; and

locking devices coupled to at least one of the first rack member or second rack member.
