Insulated Beverage Container Jacket with Accessories

An insulated beverage jacket has a flexible main body fabricated of insulative material, an outer surface and two end sections with attachment devices for securing the main body in cylindrical configurations of various diameters. A pocket for storing a cell phone, money, and other small items extends out from the outer surface of the main body. A clasp is swivelly mounted to the main body for securing keys or the jacket itself to the wearer. The main body further includes elastic support straps for retaining a removable, erasable card having a writing surface to be utilized as appropriate by the user. Finally, a writing implement is removably connected to one end of the main body for the purposes of making notations on the erasable card supported on the main body.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Insulated jackets or “koozies” are commonly used in maintaining temperatures of beverages in drinking vessels such as bottles, cans, and other beverage containers. These jacketed beverage containers are especially popular with joggers, walkers, bikers, and generally with individuals who routinely exercise. However, current “koozie” type jackets serve only one function, i.e. insulating the beverage container, and the containers must be carried by the individual or somehow attached to the body, bike, or exercise machine. That koozies serve no other purpose and must physically be carried, greatly restricts how and when they can be used.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is thus the object of the present invention to provide an improved insulated beverage container jacket or koozie, which not only maintains the temperature of a beverage within the container held by the koozie, but also has a variety of other convenient, utilitarian functions.

These and other objects are accomplished by the present invention, an insulated beverage container jacket having a flexible main body fabricated of insulative material, an outer surface and two end sections with attachment devices for securing the main body in cylindrical configurations of various diameters.

The novel features which are considered as characteristic of the invention are set forth in particular in the appended claims. The invention, itself, however, both as to its design, construction and use, together with additional features and advantages thereof, are best understood upon review of the following detailed description with reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a front isometric view of the insulated beverage container jacket of the present invention secured around a beverage container.

FIG. 2 is a rear isometric view of the insulated beverage container jacket of the present invention secured around a beverage container.

FIG. 3 is a top view showing the insulated beverage container jacket of the present invention laid out in flat position.

FIG. 4 is an exploded view of the components of the insulated beverage container jacket of the present invention shown in FIG. 3.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Insulated beverage container jacket 1 of the present invention comprises main body 2 fabricated out of a flexible insulative material, e.g. fabric, foam, or equivalent material. Main body 2 has outer surface 4 and ends 6 and 8 with Velcro® or similar hook and eye connectors 10 and 12. Connectors 10 and 12 secure ends 6 and 8 together to form main body 2 into a cylinder of adjustable diameter, when the main body is positioned around a beverage container, such as a bottle, or other insulated liquid container 40.

Pocket 20, configured to hold a cell phone, money, cleansing tissues, or other small items, is attached to outer surface 4 of main body 2. Clasp 22 is provided for connecting keys 23 or securing jacket and beverage container 40 to a belt or other object. Clasp 22 is swivelly mounted on outer surface 4 of main body 2 for movement around the swivel in all directions.

Elastic support bands 24 and 26 are secured at their respective ends to outer surface 4 of main body 2 and they extend over a portion, i.e. approximately one half of the main body. Elastic support bands 24 and 26 are configured to retain card 28 in transparent covering 30 within the elastic support bands and on outer surface 4 of main body 2. Card 28 has an erasable writing surface, permitting the user to write notes, lists, workout routines, etc. on the card and then rub out the writing so that the card can be used again. Such erasable cards are well known and utilize a compatible writing implement designed to write on the card with erasable marker. Towards that end, writing implement 32 with Velcro® or similar hook and loop or equivalent connectors 34 are provided. Writing implement 32 is configured to be detachably mounted on end 8 of main body 2, so that it can easily be removed and used to mark card 28 as per the user's need.

Thus, the present invention provides a most versatile insulated beverage container jacket which not only maintains the temperature of beverages within a bottle or container carried within the jacket, but also serves to provide a variety of necessary and readily accessible features, which are otherwise not available with existing jackets or koozie-type articles.

Certain novel features and components of this invention are disclosed in detail in order to make the invention clear in at least one form thereof. However, it is to be clearly understood that the invention as disclosed is not necessarily limited to the exact form and details as disclosed, since it is apparent that various modifications and changes may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
