Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a kind of safety protection equipment used for surrounding a building or a site, and more specifically relates to a kind of fence column and a kind of fence system.

A fence system used for surrounding a building or a site is usually formed by connecting a fencing net and a fence column. A common fence column is shown for example in FIG. 1 of European granted patent EP1564351B1. This kind of fence column comprises a hollow post with a rectangular cross section, a cover plate covering one side of the hollow post and a tightening member for fixing the fencing net between the cover plate and the hollow post. The tightening member is fixed to the hollow post after passing through the cover plate and a hole on the fencing net. A fence system using this kind of structure is susceptible to damage because the fencing net is just loosely fixed due to only a few fixing points on which the fencing net is positioned, connected and fixed via the tightening member alone. In FIG. 2 of EP1564351B1, another fence column is disclosed. According to the disclosure, tightening members are used for positioning, connecting and fixing the fencing net to the post, but this kind of structure still cannot solve the problems of insufficient fixing points for the fencing net and susceptibility to damage. In some fence systems especially those requiring better defense against damage, anti-theft bolts are usually required, but anti-theft bolts are more expensive. Production cost of the fence system will also significantly increase if the quantity of the fixing points is increased by providing more tightening members.

Preferably, the multiple first positioning members 114 are divided into two columns and arranged near to the edges of the connecting surface, and the multiple second positioning members 121 are divided into two columns and arranged near to the edges of the second main body 120; if the first main body 110 is a post having an opening, as shown in FIGS. 1, 5 and 7, the multiple first positioning members 114 are arranged vertically on the pair of edge portions 113, and the multiple second positioning members 121 are divided into two columns vertically arranged on the second main body 120.

In the present embodiment, the first positioning members 114 are holes, while the second positioning members 121 are protrusions; alternatively, the first positioning members 114 are protrusions and the second positioning members 121 are holes; meshes 201 are present on the net 200; when the second main body 120 is fixed to the first main body 110, the protrusions pass through the meshes of the net 200 and insert into the holes and are therefore fixed in position; in other embodiments, both the first positioning members and the second positioning members are hook shaped, when the first main body 110 is fixed with the second main body 120, the first positioning members and the second positioning members are hooked together; preferably, the first positioning members 114 are holes, and the second positioning members 121 are hook shaped protrusions; the hook shaped protrusions first extend horizontally along a direction perpendicular to the vertical direction from a side surface of the second main body 120, and then bend towards the vertical direction to form blocking portions which prevent the second main body 120 from separating from the first main body 110; the multiple second positioning members 121 bend upwardly or downwardly along the same direction; when the second positioning members 121 are inserted into the first positioning members 114, the second main body 120 can be hooked onto the first main body 110.

The ends of the hook shaped protrusions can also extend horizontally; the ends of the protrusions of one column of the second positioning members 121 extend leftward and the ends of the protrusions of another column of the second positioning members 121 extend rightward; the hook shaped protrusions can be formed by bending by means of a tool during the process of installation; during installation of the second main body 120, the second positioning members 121 not yet bent and deformed can first be inserted into the first positioning members 114, and then the two columns of second positioning members 121 are being bent to the left and right sides respectively at an inner side of the first main body 110 by means of a tool so that the second positioning members 121 can hook onto the first main body 110.

The fence columns are generally made of metal material which has a certain flexibility to deform; specifically, the first main body 110 and the second main body 120 may achieve flexible deformation by providing flexible deformable portions horizontally or vertically deformable. In the present embodiment, the base portion 111 of the first main body 110 has an opening; therefore when horizontal compression or tension force is applied to the base portion 111, the base portion 111 can be compressed or tensioned horizontally, thereby changing the linear distance between the two columns of first positioning members 114; the curved rib portion 124 provided on the second main body 120 can provide a certain extent of flexibility to the second main body 120; therefore installation tools can be used for flexible deformation of the first main body 110 to bring the two columns of first positioning members 114 close to each other during installation, and the second positioning members 121 are manipulated to pass through the two columns of first positioning members 114; after installation and removal of external force, the first main body 110 deforms to regain its original shape so that the two columns of second positioning members 121 are tensioned and inwardly hook on two sides of the connecting surface; the same principle applies to installation by deforming the second main body 120. In FIGS. 13 and 14, the first main body 110 as shown has the first positioning members 114 all being T shaped holes, and each T shaped hole has a wider portion and a narrower portion; the second main body 120 as shown has the second positioning members 121 having barbs; the widest part of each of the second positioning members 121 is wider than the diameter of the narrower portion and narrower than the diameter of the wider portion. During installation, tensional force is applied to the first main body 110 by means of a tool so that the first main body 110 are tensioned and open up towards two sides so that the second positioning members 121 of the second main body 120 are inserted into the wider portions of the T shaped holes, when the tool is removed, the opening of the first main body 110 regains its original smaller shape, the second positioning members 121 slide into the narrower portions of the T shaped holes and then being locked therein.

The flexible deformation can occur horizontally or vertically. When the second main body is horizontally tensioned on the first main body, the second main body can be outwardly tensioned on the first main body or inwardly pressed on the first main body, whereas “outwardly” herein means the directions from the center of the opening of the first main body towards the left and right sides of the first main body with reference to FIG. 2, and “inwardly” herein means the directions from the left and right sides of the first main body towards the opening of the first main body with reference to FIG. 2. When the second main body is vertically tensioned on the first main body, the top end and the bottom end of the second main body are outwardly pressed onto the two ends of the first main body respectively, or the top end and the bottom end of the second main body are inwardly hooked onto the first main body, whereas “outwardly” herein means the directions towards the top and bottom ends of the first main body from the center of the first main body with reference to FIG. 6, and “inwardly” herein means the directions towards the center of the first main body from the top and bottom ends of the first main body with reference to FIG. 6.

As shown in FIG. 15, the barbs of the second positioning members 121 are inserted into the first positioning members 114; since the roots of the barbs are wider than the first positioning members 114 in terms of diameter, the barbs can hook onto the connecting surface 112 of the first main body on the inner side of the first main body firmly and not easy to get loose after they are fitted into the first positioning members 114. By means of the few embodiments of the barbs of the second positioning members as mentioned above, self-connection between the second positioning members 121 and the first positioning members 114 can be achieved; self-connection means a type of connection which does not require additional tightening members. Better defense against damage and disassembly can be achieved if the first positioning members or the second positioning members adopt the barb structure as described above.

Preferably, the first positioning members 114 are integrally formed on the connecting surface 112, and the second positioning members 121 are integrally formed on the second main body 120. The protrusions are formed by bending and stamping the connecting surface 112 or the second main body 120. There is no specific requirement concerning the sequential order of bending procedure and stamping procedure.

Preferably, the distance between any two meshes 201 adjacent to each other vertically on the net 200 is the same; the distance between any two first positioning members 114 vertically adjacent to each other or the distance between any two second positioning members 121 vertically adjacent to each other is multiple integer of the distance between any two meshes 201 vertically adjacent to each other, so as to ensure that the all the first positioning members or all the second positioning members can pass through the meshes 201.

Apart from the self-connection as mentioned above, the first main body 110 and the second main body 120 can also be fixed by welding, or connected via a tightening member 300.

As shown in FIG. 7, the tightening member 300 is a clamp. The clamp comprises a clamping body 301, a latch 302 and a screw nut. The two ends of the clamping body 301 pass through the meshes 201 of the net 200 and then being fixed to the outer sides of the first main body 110 and the second main body 120.

Alternatively as shown in FIGS. 1 and 5, the tightening member 300 is a screw bolt tightening member; preferably, the screw bolt tightening member uses the clamp and the wring nut 303 and the screw bolt 304 as shown in FIG. 4.

Specifically, one end of the tightening member 300 passes through an installation hole 122 on the second main body 120 and then fixes with the connecting surface 112 of the first main body 110, as shown in FIGS. 2, 5, 6, 11 and 12.

Alternatively as shown in FIGS. 2 and 5, the first main body 110 is also provided with a base portion 111 connected with the connecting surface 112. An end of the tightening member 300 passes through the second main body 120 and then fixes with the base portion 111 of the first main body 110; for example, the tightening member is fixed at a surface on a side opposite to the connecting surface 112.
