Therapeutic jolt pulley

A therapeutic jolt pulley having a chamber, a pin, a wheel with an elongated pin hole, a cable with two handles is invented. The pulley's configuration is generally like a conventional therapeutic pulley except it can create jolts when the cable is pulled and the wheel rotates. The jolt can stimulate a body part, like shoulder.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

People pull a simple pulley for the frozen shoulder therapeutic exercises. The pulling process is smooth and without shaking. RS suffers frozen shoulder for more than three years. He has gone through cortisone, therapeutic and herbal treatments without any improvement. The simple pulley was what he used at home. While he was using it for his shoulder, he thought it'd be a useful stimulation if the pulley could generate jolts while he was pulling. And, he thought the stimulation should be helpful for his shoulder. With this need in mind, a therapeutic jolt pulley is invented. We made a model and he used it. Within a week, his condition was greatly improved.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A therapeutic jolt pulley has a configuration generally like an existing simple pulley used for frozen, shoulder exercises except the pulley wheel has an elongated pin hole instead of a circular one which a conventional pulley has.

One objective of the invention is to generate jolts for muscle, tendon, and joint stimulation while a user uses his/her two hands alternatively to pull the cable to turn the pulley.

Another objective is to generate different intensities of jolt.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1 is the side view of the invention.

FIG. 2 is the A-A section view of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The configuration of the invention is described as follows.

FIG. 1 shows the side view of the invention of a therapeutic jolt pulley. The pulley has a chamber 1, a pin 2, a wheel 3, a cable 5, and 2 handles 6.

FIG. 2 shows the A-A cross sectional view of the invention. The pin 2 is round and used to keep the wheel 3 in the chamber 1. The wheel 3 has an elongated pin hole 4. The wheel 3 rotates about the pin 2. Because the pin hole 4 is elongated, the rotation won't be smooth like a conventional pulley. The invention can be installed on a sturdy structure like, a wall, or a closed door, etc. When one uses each hand to hold a handle 6 and alternatively pull the cable 5, because of the elongated pin hole 4, the wheel 3 will rotate, move sideway, up, and down. Thus the pulling generates the jolts, and the shoulder can feel it. At a pulling speed, the jolt frequency is determined by the diameter of wheel 3, and the jolt intensity is partially determined by the length of the elongated pin hole 4.

Claims

1. A therapeutic jolt pulley having a chamber, a pin, a wheel with an elongated pin hole, and a cable with two handles.
