Double-Chamber Sports Cup

Abstract

The present invention relates to a double-chamber sports cup where an outer chamber can be opened from the upper end and an inner chamber can be opened from the lower end; the lower lid provides an inward-oriented insertion column having a stabilizing rod, generally made of soft and flexible material, to provide a securing function to objects, such as cell phones, that are placed in the inner chamber. Not only is the present double-chamber sports cup more versatile in the ability to hold two different drinks, it is also useful for storing electronic devices while holding liquid at the same time.

Description

FIELD AND BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a sports cup having a double-chamber design, providing multiple uses for the users of the cups, especially for outdoor and sports-related events.

People carry sealable cups for convenience purpose, especially when engaging in outdoor activities. The most common types of cups available are sealable coffee mugs or cups. Many sports cups have caps or lids that allow easy opening/closing and for a nice tight seal, while holding the content inside a single space.

Such sealable cups are oftentimes used for non-drinking purpose, such as temporarily storying a cell phone inside, to protect the electronic products from weather elements, or for the purpose of engaging in water-related fun activities.

The traditional sealable cup apparently lacks the ability to provide variety uses, due to the nature of a single chamber for holding/storing the content inside. And if the cup is used for holding a cell phone inside temporarily, there is no more liquid-holding utility.

A need thus arose to provide for the versatile application of a sports cup.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Present invention disclosed a sports cup having a double-chamber design, providing the users of the cups with more versatile applications and usages.

The sports cup of present invention has two openings: a lower opening and an upper opening. Each opening allows access to a chamber for storing content as desired by users, such as water or drinks of different flavors.

The sports cup of present invention provides versatile usage and convenience. A user can carry the needed drink in an outer chamber, while putting cell phones or any wearable electronic devices in the inner chamber, keeping the devices nice and dry, if participating in water-based activities. A stabilizing rod in the inner chamber helps to secure the electronic device in place, and not wiggling or jiggling inside the cup, and increases the impact cushioning to the device.

A side hole is made to the rim area of the lower lid. A button is used to control the opening or closing of the side hole, so that when the lower lid is sealing off (closing) the lower opening, the side hole can allow a small access hole between the inner chamber and the outside.

As a sample usage, the present invention of the double-chamber sports cup allows a cell phone stored inside the cup to maintain power charging, via the side hole, vastly increasing the versatility of the cup.

When the button is in a closed state, the side hole is then closed off, creating a completely sealed off inner chamber.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The double-chamber sports cup of present invention has a main body 1. Unlike most cups where there is a single cavity (called a chamber, for purpose of comparison) for holding and storing materials such as water or drinks, the sports cup of present invention has two chambers: an outer chamber 11 and an inner chamber 12, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.

The inner chamber 12 is generally placed within a concentric area inside the outer chamber 12.

The material used for the main body, inner chamber 12 and outer chamber 11 can be made of any suitable materials, including popular thermal-insulation materials available.

The outer chamber 11 opens up towards an upper opening 13; the inner chamber 12 opens up towards a lower opening 14.

Other than the portion that opens up towards the lower opening 14, the inner chamber 12 provides a spatial volume that is also suitable for accommodating the shape of a smart phone which is generally in the shape of a flat rectangular object.

The upper opening 13 has a corresponding upper lid 2 for sealing the outer chamber 11. The lower opening 14 has a corresponding lower lid 3 for sealing the inner chamber 12.

As shown in FIG. 3, an insertion column 31 is situated at the center of the lower lid 3. The insertion column 31 projects out in a direction perpendicular to the flat surface of the lower lid 3. A stabilizing rod 32 is made inside the insertion column 31.

The two chambers 11 and 12 are separate from each other. Two types of liquid can be stored in the two chambers 11 and 12 at the same time, allowing a user to enjoy, for example, two types of drinks while only carrying one container or cup of present invention.

When a user opens the upper lid 2, he/she can enjoy the drink contained in outer chamber 11. When a user opens the lower lid 3, he/she can enjoy the drink contained in inner chamber 12.

The sports cup of present invention provides versatile usage and convenience. A user can carry the needed drink in the outer chamber 11, while keeping cell phones or any other type of electronic devices in the inner chamber 12, keeping the devices nice and dry, if participating in water-based activities. The stabilizing rod 32 can be made from soft and rubber-like material, providing impact cushioning to any device placed inside the inner chamber 12.

FIG. 1 shows the side silhouette view, in dotted line, of an electronic device similar to a cell phone, placed inside the inner chamber 12, with one end of the device wedging to the stabilizing rod 32 and the other end of the device pushed towards the deep end of the inner chamber 12. Such a setup allows the storage of the device in a relatively secure and stable position, without unnecessary wiggling or shaking than otherwise stored in a single-chamber cup.

A side hole 33 is made to the rim area of the lower lid 3, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3. A button 34 is used to control the opening or closing of the side hole 33, so that when the lower lid 3 is sealing off (closing) the lower opening 14 of the inner chamber 12, the side hole 33 can allow a small access hole between the inner chamber 12 and the outside.

As a sample usage, when a cell phone is stored in the inner chamber 12, a charging cord can be connected from the outside to the cell phone via the side hole 33. When the button 34 is in a closed state, the side hole 33 is then closed off, creating a completely sealed off inner chamber 12.

The insertion column 31 and the stabilizing rod 32 can be further made into an integrated unit made of soft and flexible material.

Claims

1. A double-chamber sports cup, comprising,

an outer chamber with an upper opening further having a corresponding upper lid; and

an inner chamber generally in the concentric area of the outer chamber, said inner chamber has a lower opening further having a corresponding lower lid,

whereas said lower lid has a insertion column further containing a stabilizing rod made of soft and flexible material.

2. The double-chamber sports cup of claim 1, wherein said lower lid further having a side hole made to the rim area of the lower lid, and a button to control the opening or closing of the side hole.

3. The double-chamber sports cup of claim 1, wherein said insertion column and the stabilizing rod are made into an integrated unit made of soft and flexible material.

4. The double-chamber sports cup of claim 1, where the materials for the inner chamber and outer chamber are thermal-insulation materials.
