Physical Exercise Assembly
A physical exercise assembly includes a bar that may be gripped thereby facilitating the bar to be manipulated during the performance of physical exercise. The bar may be coupled to a pair of resilient bands thereby facilitating the bar to pose resistance to a user when the bar is manipulated. A pair of grips is provided. Each of the grips is slidably coupled to the bar and each of the grips may be manipulated. Each of the grips is spaced from a center of the bar.
Field of the Disclosure
The disclosure relates to physical exercise devices and more particularly pertains to a new physical exercise device for utilizing resilient bands for resistance training.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSUREAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a bar that may be gripped thereby facilitating the bar to be manipulated during the performance of physical exercise. The bar may be coupled to a pair of resilient bands thereby facilitating the bar to pose resistance to a user when the bar is manipulated. A pair of grips is provided. Each of the grips is slidably coupled to the bar and each of the grips may be manipulated. Each of the grips is spaced from a center of the bar.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

A pair of couplers 24 is provided. Each of the couplers 24 is coupled to an associated one of the first end 20 and the second end 22. Each of the couplers 24 has a distal end 26 with respect to the bar 12 and an outer surface 28 extending between the bar 12 and the distal end 26. The outer surface 28 is continuous such that each of the couplers 24 has a cylindrical shape.
Each of the couplers 24 includes a pair of fittings 30. Each of the fitting 30 has a central member 32 extending between a pair of lateral members 34. The lateral members 34 corresponding to each of the fittings 30 are spaced apart from each other. Each of lateral members 34 corresponding to each of the fittings 30 are coupled to the outer surface 28. The central member 32 of each of the fittings 30 is spaced from the outer surface 28. The fittings 30 are oppositionally positioned on the coupler 24 with respect to each other. Each of the resilient bands 14 may be coupled to a selected one of the fittings 30 on an associated coupler 24.
A pair of grips 36 is provided. Each of the grips 36 is slidably coupled to the bar 12 and each of the grips 36 may be manipulated. Each of the grips 36 is spaced from a center 38 of the bar 12. Each of the grips 36 has a primary end 40, a secondary end 42 and an outer wall 44 extending between the primary end 40 and the secondary end 42.
The primary end 40 of each of the grips 36 is open and the secondary end 42 of each of the grips 36 is open. Each of the grips 36 is substantially hollow. The bar 12 extends through each of the grips 36 and each of the grips 36 has an inner surface 45. Each of the grips 36 may be comprised of a resiliently compressible material thereby enhancing gripping each of the grips 36.
A pair of bearings 46 is provided. Each of the bearings 46 is positioned within an associated one of the grips 36. Each of the bearings 46 is positioned between the inner surface 45 of the associated grip 36 and the bar 12. Thus, each of the bearings 46 reduces friction between the grips 36 and the bar 12. Each of the grips 36 may be selectively urged toward a selected one of the first end 20 of the bar 12 and the second end 22 of the bar 12.
A biasing member 48 may be removably coupled between each of the couplers 24. Thus, the biasing member 48 extends across each of the grips 36. The user 18 grips the biasing member 48 when the user grips each of the grips 36. Thus, the biasing member 48 poses resistance to the user 18 when the user 18 urges the grips 36 longitudinally along the bar 12. The biasing member 48 may comprise a resilient band or the like.
In use, each of the pair of resilient bands 14 is coupled between the support surface 16 and an associated one of the couplers 24. Each of the grips 36 is gripped and the bar 12 is repeatedly urged away from and toward the support surface 16. Thus, the bar 12 facilitates resistance training. Each of the grips 36 is urged longitudinally along the bar 12 when the bar 12 is manipulated. Thus, the grips 36 facilitate a full range of motion while the bar 12 is manipulated. The bar 12 is manipulated in the convention of bench press, bicep curls, shoulder press and other weight training motions.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims
1. A physical exercise assembly comprising:
- a bar being configured to be gripped thereby facilitating said bar to be manipulated during the performance of physical exercise, said bar having a first end and a second end, said bar being configured to be coupled to a pair of resilient bands thereby facilitating said bar to pose resistance to a user when said bar is manipulated; and
- a pair of grips, each of said grips being slidably coupled to said bar wherein each of said grips is configured to be manipulated, each of said grips being spaced from a center of said bar;
- a pair of couplers, each of said couplers being coupled to an associated one of said first end and said second end, each of said couplers comprising a distal end with respect to said bar and an outer surface extending between said bar and said distal end, said outer surface being continuous such that each of said couplers has a cylindrical shape, each of said couplers further comprising a pair of fittings, each of said fittings having a central member extending between a pair of lateral members, said lateral members corresponding to each of said fittings being spaced apart from each other, each of said lateral members corresponding to each of said fittings being coupled to said outer surface such that said central member of each of said fittings is spaced from said outer surface, said fittings being oppositionally positioned with respect to each other on said coupler, a selected one of said fittings being configured to have one of the resilient bands being coupled thereto.

The assembly according to claim 1, wherein each of said grips has a primary end, a secondary end and an outer wall extending between said primary end and said secondary end, said primary end of each of said grips being open, said secondary end of each of said grips being open, each of said grips being substantially hollow, said bar extending through each of said grips, each of said grips having an inner surface.
6. The assembly according to claim 5, further comprising a pair of bearings, each of said bearings being positioned within an associated one of said grips, each of said bearings being positioned between said inner surface of said associated grip and said bar wherein each of said bearings is configured to reduce friction between said grips and said bar thereby facilitating each of said grips to be selectively urged toward a selected one of said first end of said bar and said second end of said bar.
7. A physical exercise assembly comprising:
- a bar being configured to be gripped thereby facilitating said bar to be manipulated during the performance of physical exercise, said bar being configured to be coupled to a pair of resilient bands thereby facilitating said bar to pose resistance to a user when said bar is manipulated, said bar having a first end and a second end;
- a pair of couplers, each of said couplers being coupled to an associated one of said first end and said second end, each of said couplers comprising: a distal end with respect to said bar and an outer surface extending between said bar and said distal end, said outer surface being continuous such that each of said couplers has a cylindrical shape, and a pair of fittings, each of said fittings having a central member extending between a pair of lateral members, said lateral members corresponding to each of said fittings being spaced apart from each other, each of said lateral members corresponding to each of said fittings being coupled to said outer surface such that said central member of each of said fittings is spaced from said outer surface, said fittings being oppositionally positioned with respect to each other on said coupler, a selected one of said fittings being configured to have the resilient band being coupled thereto; and
- a pair of grips, each of said grips being slidably coupled to said bar wherein each of said grips is configured to be manipulated, each of said grips being spaced from a center of said bar, each of said grips having a primary end, a secondary end and an outer wall extending between said primary end and said secondary end, said primary end of each of said grips being open, said secondary end of each of said grips being open, each of said grips being substantially hollow, said bar extending through each of said grips, each of said grips having an inner surface; and
- a pair of bearings, each of said bearings being positioned within an associated one of said grips, each of said bearings being positioned between said inner surface of said associated grip and said bar wherein each of said bearings is configured to reduce friction between said grips and said bar thereby facilitating each of said grips to be selectively urged toward a selected one of said first end of said bar and said second end of said bar.
