POLYFUNCTIONAL STRUCTURAL CONNECTOR

A “POLYFUNCTIONAL STRUCTURAL CONNECTOR” used both as a wall connector and a vertical and horizontal structural element, in the prefabricated construction system registered under patent 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI. This element, as a result of the dimensions thereof and the location of the holes thereof, may be used both as a wall connector and as a system structure. It is composed of a square-section tubular part, with pre-set holes to connect the different system elements of Patent 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI. This element is herein referred to as Polyfunctional Structural Connector.

Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The technical field for recording this utility model is the section of prefabricated buildings, with emphasis on the construction based on modular systems, and as an improvement of the whole system by replacing the connector of the invention with patent resolution 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI. The invention herein will be used as a replacement of the original connector when flooring is artificial and not made of concrete.

STATE OF THE ART

The polyfunctional structural connector described herein, is designed to work as a replacement for the connector of Patent 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI. Unlike the original connector of Patent 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI that is designed for concrete flooring, the invention can be used as a beam and artificial flooring support. This element is placed within a pre-set prefabricated modular construction system, the use of which is only related to this system, and cannot be compared with any other existing element, since it is an improvement of the connector of Patent 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI.

That is the reason why this document describes a “UTILITY MODEL”. or multifunctional universal or regular single-piece element, which, in certain circumstances, would replace the system connector Patent 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI, since the invention can only be used for that purpose. The invention works as a wall connector and a system structure. The invention is composed of a square-section tubular piece with pre-set holes to connect one to the other as universal wall connectors, columns, or beams.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF CONNECTOR

The invention is a quadrangular (square) cross-section connector with two (2) different sides A and two sides B, wherein the two sides A are in opposite direction to each other and the two sides B are also in opposite direction to each other, wherein the side A has a pair of holes at a distance of 45 mm from one end, and the other end of the connector has the same holes, but at a distance of 37 mm from said end, with a tolerance of +/−20%, wherein the holes on side A are always at 45 mm and on side B at 37 mm from one end, and the holes on side A are at 37 mm and on side B at 45 mm from the other end. The reversed position of the holes on sides A and B at the end of the tubes will prevent screws passing through the holes from contacting each other inside the connector during mounting, and will cause that only one A end be connected with only one B end, and in all cases this will ensure connection with each other, again and again, to build any structure as desired since they will always fit each other.

So as to join one vertical connector to another horizontal connector, there are other holes at 377 mm from one end on side A and 355 mm on side B from the same end so screws can be placed and contact with each other can be prevented, which will cause that side A only be connected to the corresponding side B.

There are two pairs of holes with the same configuration to mount a vertical connector to a horizontal one, but at 137 mm and 145 mm from sides A and B, respectively, on top of the connector, which would be in a vertical position.

EXPLANATION OF THE FIGURES

FIG. 1. A front view of side A and side B of the connector can be seen showing the arrangement of the holes and their corresponding distances from the ends on side A and side B.

FIG. 2. A side view of connectors joined together forming a structure of a certain size, wherein there is a connector in a vertical position, as well as a horizontal connector at the top and at the bottom, leaving a space for the universal walls of Patent 002222-2015/DIN-INDECOPI.

FIG. 3. Plan view wherein the elements (connector) are joined together.

This figure shows the arrangement of the Polyfunctional Modular Connector horizontally, giving rigidity to the assembly and allowing for subsequent placement of panels and flooring/ceiling finishes.

FIG. 4. This figure shows the connector in a perspective view.

Claims

1. A structural connector for modular constructions composed of a square-section tubular element with connection holes to mount as a column or beam, wherein:

said connector has two sides A and two sides B, wherein the sides A are opposite to each other, and the sides B are also opposite to each other, thus making sides overlap each other.
said connector has a first end and a second end, wherein side A has two holes at 45 mm from the first end and two holes at 37 mm from the second end, with a tolerance of 20%, while side B has both pairs of holes in a reversed manner, wherein the distance is 37 mm from the first end and the distance is 45 mm from the second end; thus, causing connectors to be joined together at opposite ends.

2. The structural connector for modular constructions of claim 1, wherein there are holes on side A at a distance of 377 mm from the first end and on side B at 355 mm from the same first end to mount a horizontal connector to a vertical one.

3. The structural connector for modular constructions of claim 1, wherein there are two holes on side A at a distance of 137 mm from the second end and two equivalent holes on side B at 145 mm from the same end.

4. The structural connector for modular constructions according to claim 1, wherein there are two holes on side A at a distance of 487 mm, 506 mm, 936 mm, 955 mm, 1385 mm, 1404 mm, 1837 mm and 1865 mm from the second end.
