Secure Pocket Inside Garment Pocket

A secure pocket inside an outer garment pocket is disclosed. The opening of the secure pocket is opposite to the opening of the outer garment pocket, therefore wallet and other important items placed in the secure pocket do not easily fall out of the pockets and are safer from pickpocketing. The secure pocket can easily be made with a single piece of fabric without using buttons or zippers.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates generally to garment pockets, and particularly to a simple and secure pocket inside daily wearing outer garment pockets.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Many people put their wallet and important identification document such as passport in the pockets of their daily wearing outer garments for easy access; the pockets are not very secure and the important items could fall out of the pockets, or easily get pickpocketed. Although specialty garments with secure pockets are available, it's inconvenient and sometimes impractical, for example, in summer hot weather wearing specialty garments could be very uncomfortable.

It is therefore desirable to have a secure pocket in the daily wearing outer garments that is easy to access and simple to make.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An internal pocket is made inside an outer garment pocket. The opening of the internal pocket goes either completely or somewhat opposite to the opening of the outer garment pocket, therefore important items placed in the internal pocket do not easily fall out of the pockets and are safe from pickpocketing. This makes the internal pocket a secure pocket. The secure pocket can be made with elastic fabric so that bulky items can easily be put inside, or it can be made with regular fabrics with elastic cords at its opening.

Other objectives and further advantages and benefits associated with this invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the description, examples, and claims that follow.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Preferred forms of the invention are described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the secure pocket inside an outer garment pocket.

FIG. 2 is another example of the secure pocket inside an outer garment pocket.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 1 is an embodiment of the invention. An internal pocket 6 is made inside an outer garment pocket 1. The opening 3 of the outer garment pocket 1 goes somewhat upward, while the opening 8 of the internal pocket 6 goes downward. The opening of the internal pocket 6 is quite opposite to the opening of the outer garment pocket 1, therefore items placed in the internal pocket do not easily fall out of the pockets and are safe from pickpocketing. This makes the internal pocket a secure pocket. Because of the opposite arrangement of the two pocket openings, other securing mechanisms such as button, zipper, and flap are not necessary. The secure pocket can be made with elastic fabric so that bulky items can easily be put inside, or it can be made with regular fabrics with elastic cords at its opening.

FIG. 2 is another embodiment of the invention, where the opening 9 of the internal pocket 6 goes somewhat sideways, which makes the opening 9 somewhat opposite to the opening 3 of the outer garment pocket 1, therefore items placed in the internal pocket do not easily fall out of the pockets and are safe from pickpocketing. This makes the internal pocket a secure pocket.

The invention has been described in preferred forms and method by way of examples. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made to the embodiments without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. It is not intended that the invention be limited in any way to the embodiments shown and described herein and it is intended that the invention be limited only by the claims appended hereto.
