Multifunctional Comb

A multifunctional comb includes a comb body and a plurality of comb teeth, the comb body has at least one opening extending from the bottom end to the top end. The openings on the comb body can increase the air convection in the comb body in the axial direction and the radial direction and improve the ventilation performance of the comb, so that hair can be quickly dried. During styling, the damage to the hair resulted from a too high temperature is avoided, and the hot wind from the hair drier is more uniformly applied to the hair, therefore, the time for styling the hair is saved.

RELATE APPLICATIONS

This application claims benefit to Chinese Patent Application for a new-type multifunctional comb, 201822036131.1, filed on Dec. 5, 2018, and a Chinese Patent Application for a new-type comb, 201822036068.1, filed on Dec. 5, 2018. The specifications of both applications are incorporated here by this reference.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the technical field of hairdressing tools, and in particular to a multifunctional comb which is versatile and easy to use and can satisfy the usage requirements on different hair properties and hair styles.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

As one of common hairdressing tools, combs are indispensable in families and hair solons. More and more persons, who want to be pretty, like to try various hair styles, such as see-through bangs, Korean wave perm and big curls. A multifunctional comb is essential in families.

Round brushes are common combs for hairdressing. However, the existing round brushes are single in structure. For example, Chinese Patent CN204232486U entitled ROUND BRUSH disclosed a structure, including a handle and a cylindrical comb body, wherein filaments are radially and densely distributed around the comb body; a round inner fixation member is covered on the top of the comb body; at least three slots are uniformly formed on an outer edge of the bottom of the comb body, and the slots run through the round inner fixation member from the bottom of the comb body to the top; a jagged sheet is clamped within each of the slots; a lower end of each of the jagged sheet is connected into the handle, while an upper end thereof runs out of the top of the inner fixation member and a boss is provided at the upper end, that is, the boss at the upper end of the jagged sheet and the handle connected to the lower end clamp the comb body and the inner fixation member onto the handle; and the inner fixation member may be further detachably connected to an upper locking lid.

The round brushes in the prior art mostly have a cylindrical comb body and filaments radially and densely distributed around the comb body, as disclosed in the above patent. Since such combs have a solid comb body or a comb body having an outer wall of a relatively enclosed structure, the ventilation performance is poor in use and the hair cannot be quickly dried.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A technical problem to be solved by the prevent invention is to provide a multifunctional comb which can effectively improve the ventilation performance, so as to quickly dry the hair and be versatile and easy to use.

To solve the above technical problem, the present invention employs the following technical solutions. a comb body with a top end and a bottom end;

a plurality of comb teeth disposed on the comb body;

wherein, the comb body has at least one opening extending from the bottom end to the top end, the comb body is divided into two portions, a first portion and a second portion;

and the first portion and the second portion are connected together at the bottom end of the comb body.

wherein the comb body has a cylindrical shape with an empty center, and the comb teeth are disposed on a peripheral surface of the comb body;

there are two openings placed on the comb body radially away from each other, the two openings connecting to the empty center forming a ventilation chamber in the comb body;

and multiple first through holes are defined on the first portion and the second portion and in communication with the ventilation chamber

Preferably, the ventilation chamber runs through out from the top end of the comb body;

each of the first portion and the second portion has an arc shape and the first portion and the second portion are placed diametrically opposed to each other.

As an improvement, a plurality of metal sheets are attached to a peripheral surface of each of the first portion and the second portion, and each of the plurality of metal sheets has a plurality of second holes, each second hole matches to a first hole, and a plurality of small through holes for the comb teeth to pass through.

Preferably, one of the first portion or the second portion has two sliding grooves extending along the axis of the comb body respectively on two edges of one of the first portion or the second portion, correspondingly, the metal sheet has two sliding protrusions on two edges of the metal sheet for engaging the sliding grooves and the metal sheet slides along the sliding grooves.

Preferably, the comb teeth on the comb body are formed from nylon pins, bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles.

Preferably, the metal sheet is covered on the second portion, bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles are disposed on the first portion, and the nylon pins are disposed on the second portion.

Preferably, the first vents extend on the comb body circumferentially, and the first vents are arranged up and down at intervals. This structure is advantageous to improve the ventilation effect of the comb.

For ease of use, the first portion and the second portion are connect with each other at the bottom end of the comb body and a comb handle is provided at the bottom end of the comb body.

For another example, the comb body has a planar form, at least one surface of the comb body has a curve surface, and the comb teeth are placed on the curve surface.

Preferably, the comb body has a U-shape with the opening in middle of the comb body, and the comb body is divided into the first portion and the second portion by the opening; wherein bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles may be disposed on the first portion, and nylon pins may be disposed on the second portion.

Compared with the prior art, in the present invention, the openings on the comb body can increase the air convection in the comb body in the axial direction and the radial direction and improve the ventilation performance of the comb, so that the hair can be quickly dried. In addition, during styling, hot wind from a hair drier may be quickly led out from the vents, the ventilation chamber and the openings, so the damage to the hair resulted from a too high temperature is avoided, and the hot wind from the hair drier is more uniformly applied to the hair, therefore, the time for styling the hair is saved, and the combing and styling effects are better.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The present invention will be further described in detail by embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Embodiment 1

As shown in FIGS. 1-4, the multifunctional comb in Embodiment 1 comprises a cylindrical comb body 1a and comb teeth 2a disposed on a peripheral wall of the comb body 1a.

The interior of the comb body 1a is hollow to form a ventilation chamber 10, and a plurality of first vents 100 communicated with the ventilation chamber 10 are formed on a sidewall of the comb body 1a. The first vents 100 extend on the comb body 1a circumferentially, and the plurality of first vents 100 are arranged up and down at intervals. Openings 11a extending axially and running through radially are further formed on the sidewall of the comb body 1a. A port 101 communicated with the ventilation chamber 10 is formed at a top end of the comb body 1a, and the openings 11a extend from an edge of the port 101 to a bottom end of the comb body 1a. There are two openings 11a which are symmetrically formed on the sidewall of the comb body 1a. The comb body 1a is divided, by the two openings 11a, into a first portion 12a and a second portion 13a that are both of a U-shaped structure, and the U-shaped openings in the first portion 12a and the second portion 13a are opposite to each other. With the structure, it is convenient for the first portion 12a and the second portion 13a to form a comb with different functions, and the first portion 12a and the second portion 13a may be cooperatively used as a cylindrical whole, so that the comb in this embodiment has more diversified functions to satisfy different requirements of consumers. The bottom end of the comb body 1a is closed and a comb handle 14a is provided at the bottom end.

The structures, such as the first vents 100 and the openings 11a, are advantageous to increase the air convection in the comb body 1a in the axial direction and the radial direction and improve the ventilation performance of the comb, so that the hair can be quickly dried. In addition, during styling, hot wind from a hair drier may be quickly led out from the first vents 100, the ventilation chamber 10 and the openings 11a, so the damage to the hair resulted from a too high temperature is avoided, and the hot wind from the hair drier is more uniformly applied to the hair. Thus, the time for styling the hair is saved.

In this embodiment, a metal sheet 3 is covered on a peripheral wall of the second portion 13a of the comb body 1a, and second vents 31 corresponding to the first vents 100 and through holes 32 for allowing the comb teeth 2a to pass therethrough are formed on the metal sheet 3. In this embodiment, the metal sheet 3 is made of aluminum material that is light in weight and good in heat conductivity, so that the second portion 13a of the comb body 1a provides for better styling effect. For ease of assembly, chutes 131 extending in an axial direction of the comb body 1a are formed on edges of the second portion 13a corresponding to the respective opening 11a, and correspondingly, inserts 33 capable of being slidingly inserted into the chutes 131 are provided on edges of the metal sheet 3.

In this embodiment, the comb teeth 2a on the comb body 1a are formed from nylon pins, bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles. The nylon pins have a massage function and are easy to run through the hair, and the arrangement of the nylon pins in different height can release hair knots. Due to their good grasping performance, the bristles can enhance the hair straightening effect and can leave the hair smoother. By comb teeth made of different material, the comb may have different functions, so that different requirements of consumers can be satisfied. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, in this embodiment, bristles are disposed on the first portion 12a, and nylon pins are disposed on the second portion 13a. With such a structure, the first portion 12a is suitable for straightening the hair, and the second portion 13a is suitable for styling the hair since the metal sheet 3 with good head conductivity is provided on the second portion 13a. Of course, the type of the comb teeth on the first portion and the second portion may be changed as needed in order to satisfy the corresponding functional requirements.

Firstly, the multifunctional comb in this embodiment looks like a cylindrical comb as a whole, by which big curls can be obtained. Secondly, seven runway-type first vents 100 that are the same in size are formed on each of two sides of the com body 1a, so that better ventilation effect is realized and the drying of the hair is quickened. In addition, the first vents 100 formed on two sides of the comb body 1a may also generate air convection during styling. By the convective medium and by means of the thrust force of the hair drier, the damage to the hair resulted from a too high temperature is avoided during styling, and the drying of the hair is quickened. The openings 11a are formed in the middle of the comb body 1a. Compared with the existing combs with a ventilation function, the structure in this embodiment greatly optimizes the amount of ventilation. The amount of ventilation is increased by about 30% in unit area, so the drying of the hair is greatly quickened. The design of the U-shaped structure also increases the directions of wind and provides for more uniform stress distribution on the hair during styling, so that it is labor-saving and time-saving to realize a better hairstyle. For the comb teeth 2a, the nylon pins are advantageous for combing the hair, so that it is easy to uniformly separate the hair in bundles. Meanwhile, the first vents 100 increase the amount of ventilation and quickens the drying of the hair. By the quick heat conduction by the metal sheet 3 from the hot wind, heat is transferred to the hair by the metal sheet 3 serving as a medium. In this way, the drying of the hair is quickened during styling, and the hot wind facilitates the styling effect by air convection. Bristles may bring the secreted grease deep into hair roots, so that the friction between the comb and the hair is reduced and the hair becomes smoother. Since the first vents 100 increase the amount of ventilation, the drying of the hair is quickened. During styling, air convection is generated due to the presence of hot wind, and the drying of the hair is quickened. In this embodiment, different filaments are disposed on left and right sides of the comb body 1a, that is, nylon pins are disposed on one side and bristles are disposed on the other side. For persons with fragile hair, the side of the comb with nylon pins may be used, since there are less nylon pins in unit area, i.e., low stress in unit area and thus reduced stress applied onto the hair, and the hair can be better protected. However, for stiff and curly hair, the side of the comb with bristles may be used to straighten or style the hair.

Embodiment 2

As shown in FIGS. 5-7, the comb in Embodiment 2 includes a comb body 1b and comb teeth 2b disposed on the comb body 1b. The comb body 1b is platy, and an opening 11b on the comb body is a U-shaped groove 11b that is formed in the middle of the comb body and extends from a top end to a bottom end. The comb body 1b is divided into relatively independent first and second portions 12b, 13b by the comb body 1b, and the first portion 12b and the second portion 13b are formed integrally at the bottom end of the comb body 1b. The bottom end of the comb body 1b is extended outward to form a comb handle 14b.

In this embodiment, at least one surface of the comb body 1b is shaped into an arc-shaped surface 15 fitted with the scalp. Actually, in this embodiment, arc-shaped structures are provided on two sides of the comb body 1b, one surface used for mounting the comb teeth 2b is concave, and the other surface is convex. The comb teeth 2b are arranged on the arc-shaped surface 15. In a state where the comb body 1b and the comb teeth 2b are assembled together, the arrangement shape of the comb teeth 2b at the tail end corresponds to the arc-shaped surface 15 on the surface of the comb body 1b, viewed from a lengthwise direction and a widthwise direction of the comb body 1b. Since the arc-shaped surface 15 of the comb body 1b and the arrangement mode of the comb teeth 2b are fitted with the scalp, the comb provides massage and healthcare effects for the scalp.

In this embodiment, the comb teeth 2b are also formed from nylon pins, bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles. For example, as shown in FIG. 1, mixtures of nylon pins and bristles are disposed on the first portion 12b, and nylon pins are disposed on the second portion 13b, so that the first portion 12b is suitable for straightening the hair and the nylon pins on the second portion 13b are suitable for quickly combing the hair.

As shown in FIG. 8 showing Embodiment 3 of the present invention, nylon pins are disposed on both the first portion 12b and the second portion 13b.

As shown in FIG. 9 showing Embodiment 4 of the present invention, the mixtures of nylon pins and bristles are disposed on both the first portion 12b and the second portion 13b.

It is to be noted that the type and arrangement mode of the comb teeth 2 may be selected according to the functional requirements.

In this embodiment, the comb body 1 is made of wooden material. From the perspective of ventilation, by designing the U-shaped groove 11b in the middle, the ventilation effect is enhanced, the drying of the hair is quickened, and better ventilation effect is achieved. From the perspective of wind circulation, when wind enters the hair, part of wind may pass through the comb body 1 by the U-shaped groove 11b to generate air convection, so the drying of the hair is quickened. From the perspective of heating, the hair will pass through the U-shaped groove 11b during the air drying and combing. Therefore, the design of the U-shaped groove 11b increases the wind receiving area and also the heated area of the hair, so that the hair is better dried and the styling is quickened. From the perspective of the use area, by designing the arc-shaped surface on a side of the comb, the contact area with the scalp is greatly increased and the fitting with the scalp is improved. In this embodiment, the comb may be divided into left and right units by the U-shaped groove 11b in the middle. The hair on left and right sides may be styled by the left and right units, respectively. The hair on the left side is styled by the left unit of the comb and the hair on the right side is styled by the right unit of the comb. The comb is alternately used by the left and right hands, so that it is quicker and more convenient for the styling of the hair. From the perspective of the force applied to the hair, the comb in this embodiment may be applied to all persons having different hair properties. For persons having fragile hair, the hair may be combed and styled by a unit with nylon pins. The filament area is reduced, the pull force applied to the hair by the filaments is reduced, and the damage to the hair is also reduced. In this way, the fragile hair is better protected. From the perspective of the filaments, the nylon pins are softer and thus provide a comfortable massage effect for the scalp, and apply a smaller pull force onto the hair in comparison with hedgehog hair. The nylon pins can quickly comb the hair. The nylon pins are suitable for fragile and thin hair. For persons having thick and heavy hair, the hair may be combed and styled by both left and right units. And, hedgehog hair, a combination of nylon pins and bristles, is used which has the massage function of the nylon pins and also makes the hair more lustrous during the combing process due to the natural grease secreted from the animal hair. Since the bristles are stiff and dense, the bristles apply a large pull force onto the hair when in use, so that the styling of the hair can be quickened.

Claims

1. A multifunctional comb comprising:

a comb body with a top end and a bottom end;
a plurality of comb teeth disposed on the comb body;
wherein, the comb body has at least one opening extending from the bottom end to the top end, the comb body is divided into two portions, a first portion and a second portion;
and the first portion and the second portion are connected together at the bottom end of the comb body.

2. The comb of claim 1, wherein the comb body has a cylindrical shape with an empty center, and the comb teeth are disposed on a peripheral surface of the comb body;

there are two openings placed on the comb body radially away from each other, the two openings connecting to the empty center forming a ventilation chamber in the comb body;
and multiple first through holes are defined on the first portion and the second portion and in communication with the ventilation chamber.

3. The comb of claim 2, wherein the ventilation chamber runs through out from the top end of the comb body;

each of the first portion and the second portion has an arc shape and the first portion and the second portion are placed diametrically opposed to each other.

4. The comb of claim 3, wherein a plurality of metal sheets are attached to a peripheral surface of each of the first portion and the second portion, and each of the plurality of metal sheets has a plurality of second holes, each second hole matches to a first hole, and a plurality of small through holes for the comb teeth to pass through.

5. The comb of claim 4, wherein one of the first portion or the second portion has two sliding grooves extending along the axis of the comb body respectively on two edges of one of the first portion or the second portion, correspondingly, the metal sheet has two sliding protrusions on two edges of the metal sheet for engaging the sliding grooves and the metal sheet slides along the sliding grooves.

6. The comb of claim 1, wherein the comb body has a planar form, at least one surface of the comb body has a curve surface, and the comb teeth are placed on the curve surface.

7. The comb of claim 6, wherein the comb body has a U-shape with the opening in middle of the comb body, and the comb body is divided into the first portion and the second portion by the opening.

8. The comb of claim 1, wherein the comb teeth on the comb body are formed from nylon pins, bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles.

9. The comb of claim 1, wherein the first portion and the second portion are connected with each other at the bottom end of the comb body and a comb handle is provided at the bottom end of the comb body.

10. The comb of claim 4 wherein the metal sheet is covered on the second portion, bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles are disposed on the first portion, and the nylon pins are disposed on the second portion.

11. The comb of claim 7, wherein bristles or mixtures of nylon pins and bristles may be disposed on the first portion, and nylon pins may be disposed on the second portion.
