A cellphone carrying case apparatus for easy cellphone transport and protection while preventing misplacement includes a case body defining a storage cavity configured to securely receive a smartphone. A flap is coupled to a back wall and has an open position exposing an open top side and a closed position covering the open top side and overlapping a front wall. A first mating member is coupled to the front wall and a second mating member is coupled to an inner surface of the flap. The second member is selectively engageable with the first mating member. A third mating member is coupled to the back wall of the case body and a fourth mating member is coupled to an article of clothing. The fourth mating member is selectively engageable with the third mating member to secure the case body to the article of clothing.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98.

The disclosure and prior art relates to cellphone cases and more particularly pertains to a new cellphone case for easy cellphone transport and protection while preventing misplacement.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a case body comprising a front wall separated from a back wall, a left wall separated from a right wall, and a bottom wall separated from an open top side defining a storage cavity. The case body is configured to securely receive a smartphone within the storage cavity. A flap is coupled to the back wall adjacent the open top side. The flap has an open position exposing the open top side and an alternative closed position covering the open top side and overlapping the front wall. A first mating member is coupled to the front wall and a second mating member is coupled to an inner surface of the flap. The second member is selectively engageable with the first mating member to secure the flap in the closed position. A third mating member is coupled to the back wall of the case body and a fourth mating member is coupled to an article of clothing. The fourth mating member is selectively engageable with the third mating member to secure the case body to the article of clothing.

In another embodiment, the invention comprises the case body comprising a front wall separated from a back wall, a left wall separated from a right wall, and a bottom wall separated from an open top side defining a storage cavity. The back wall is coupled to an article of clothing. The case body is configured to securely receive a smartphone within the storage cavity. A flap is coupled to the back wall adjacent the open top side. The flap has an open position exposing the open top side and an alternative closed position covering the open top side and overlapping the front wall. A first mating member is coupled to the front wall and a second mating member is coupled to an inner surface of the flap. The second member is selectively engageable with the first mating member to secure the flap in the closed position.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new cellphone case embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the cellphone carrying case apparatus 10 generally comprises a case body 12 comprising a front wall 14 separated from a back wall 16, a left wall 18 separated from a right wall 20, and a bottom wall 22 separated from an open top side 24 defining a storage cavity 26. The case body 12 is rectangular prismatic and is configured to securely receive a smartphone 28 within the storage cavity 26. A flap 30 is coupled to the back wall 16 of the case body adjacent the open top side 24. The flap 30 has rounded corners. The flap 30 has an open position 32 exposing the open top side 24 and an alternative closed position 34 covering the open top side 24 and overlapping the front wall 14. The flap 30 covers at least 50% of the front wall 14 when in the closed position 34. A first mating member 36 is coupled to the front wall 14 of the case body 12. A second mating member 38 is coupled to the flap 30. The second mating member 38 is coupled to an inner surface 40 of the flap and is selectively engageable with the first mating member 36 to secure the flap 30 in the closed position 34.

A third mating member 42 may be coupled to the back wall 16 of the case body and a fourth mating member 44 may be coupled to an article of clothing 46. The fourth mating member 44 is selectively engageable with the third mating member 42 to secure the case body 12 to the article of clothing 46. The article of clothing 46 is either a pair of pants 48 or a shirt 50. Each of the first 36, second 38, third 42, and fourth 44 mating members comprises a hook-and-loop fastener or other type of releasable fastener such as, but not limited to, snaps, magnets, and the like. Alternatively, the back wall 16 may be directly coupled to the article of clothing 46 by a permanent fastener such as, but not limited to, sewing, adhesives, and the like. Using the permanent fastener the article of clothing 46 may further comprise a strap 52 or a scarf 54 in addition to the pair of pants 48 or the shirt 50.

In use, the smartphone 28 is placed within the storage cavity 26 and the flap is moved to the closed position 34 with the first mating member 36 engaging the second mating member 38. The article of clothing 46 is worn normally.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A cellphone carrying case apparatus comprising:

a case body, the case body comprising a front wall separated from a back wall, a left wall separated from a right wall, and a bottom wall separated from an open top side defining a storage cavity, the case body being configured to securely receive a smartphone within the storage cavity, each of the left wall and the right wall having a respective top edge being perpendicular to the back wall, a top edge of the front wall being coplanar with the top edges of the left wall and right wall;
a flap coupled to the case body, the flap being coupled to the back wall adjacent the open top side, the flap having an open position exposing the open top side and an alternative closed position covering the open top side such that the flap abuts the top edge of the front wall and the top edges of the left wall and right wall, the flap further extending and overlapping the front wall in the closed position, the flap covering at least 50% of the front wall when in the closed position;
a first mating member coupled to the case body, the first mating member being coupled to the front wall;
a second mating member coupled to the flap, the second mating member being coupled to an inner surface of the flap, the second member being selectively engageable with the first mating member to secure the flap in the closed position;
a third mating member coupled to the case body, the third mating member being coupled to the back wall; and
a fourth mating member coupled to an article of clothing, the fourth mating member being selectively engageable with the third mating member to secure the case body to the article of clothing.

2. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the case body being rectangular prismatic.

3. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the flap having rounded corners.

4. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the article of clothing comprising either a pair of pants or a shirt.

5. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 1 further comprising each of the first, second, third, and fourth mating members comprising a hook-and-loop fastener or other type of releasable fastener such as, but not limited to, snaps, magnets, and the like.

7. A cellphone carrying case apparatus comprising:

a case body, the case body comprising a front wall separated from a back wall, a left wall separated from a right wall, and a bottom wall separated from an open top side defining a storage cavity, the case body being rectangular prismatic and configured to securely receive a smartphone within the storage cavity, each of the left wall and the right wall having a respective top edge being perpendicular to the back wall, a top edge of the front wall being coplanar with the top edges of the left wall and right wall;
a flap coupled to the case body, the flap being coupled to the back wall adjacent the open top side, the flap having rounded corners, the flap having an open position exposing the open top side and an alternative closed position covering the open top side such that the flap abuts the top edge of the front wall and the top edges of the left wall and right wall, the flap further extending and overlapping the front wall in the closed position, the flap covering at least 50% of the front wall when in the closed position;
a first mating member coupled to the case body, the first mating member being coupled to the front wall;
a second mating member coupled to the flap, the second mating member being coupled to an inner surface of the flap, the second member being selectively engageable with the first mating member to secure the flap in the closed position;
a third mating member coupled to the case body, the third mating member being coupled to the back wall; and
a fourth mating member coupled to an article of clothing, the fourth mating member being selectively engageable with the third mating member to secure the case body to the article of clothing, the article of clothing comprising either a pair of pants or a shirt;
wherein each of the first, second, third, and fourth mating members comprises a hook-and-loop fastener or other type of releasable fastener such as, but not limited to, snaps, magnets, and the like.

8. A cellphone carrying case apparatus comprising:

an article of clothing;
a case body, the case body comprising a front wall separated from a back wall, a left wall separated from a right wall, and a bottom wall separated from an open top side defining a storage cavity, each of the left wall and the right wall having a respective top edge being perpendicular to the back wall, a top edge of the front wall being coplanar with the top edges of the left wall and right wall, the back wall being coupled to the article of clothing, the case body being configured to securely receive a smartphone within the storage cavity;
a flap coupled to the case body, the flap being coupled to the back wall adjacent the open top side, the flap having an open position exposing the open top side and an alternative closed position covering the open top side such that the flap abuts the top edge of the front wall and the top edges of the left wall and right wall, the flap further extending and overlapping the front wall in the closed position, the flap covering at least 50% of the front wall when in the closed position;
a first mating member coupled to the case body, the first mating member being coupled to the front wall; and
a second mating member coupled to the flap, the second mating member being coupled to an inner surface of the flap, the second member being selectively engageable with the first mating member to secure the flap in the closed position.

9. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 8 further comprising the case body being rectangular prismatic.

10. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 8 further comprising the flap having rounded corners.

11. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 8 further comprising the article of clothing comprising one of a pair of pants or a shirt, a strap, or a scarf.

12. The cellphone carrying case apparatus of claim 8 further comprising each of the first and second mating members comprising a hook-and-loop fastener or other type of releasable fastener such as, but not limited to, snaps, magnets, and the like.
