A hairbrush incudes a body, the body having a first brush with a through-hole on its surface and a second brush without a through-hole on its surface, and the body further having a passage in which hairdressing is flowed, wherein one end of the first brush is connected to the passage and the other end is exposed; a grip, the grip having a container for storing hairdressing; and a pump for sending the hairdressing stored in the container to the first brush via the passage.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

This invention has been made by the members of MIMURA Seminar, College of Law, Nihon Univ. as a team. This invention relates to a hairbrush, and more particularly to a portable hairbrush, which is dedicated to applying hairdressing, having a container in which the hairdressing can be carried, suitable for applying hairdressing without directly soiling the hands.

2. Description of the Related Art

In the related arts, a hairbrush includes a brush portion and a handheld portion, and has been used to condition hair. When using such a hairbrush to comb hair using a hairdressing, it was necessary to spread an oil or gel hairdressing on the palm of the hand, and then to apply the hairdressing to the hair with that hand. This naturally required washing that hand with detergent after applying the hairdressing. In other words, water was used, followed by the use of a handkerchief, etc., which was neither time-consuming nor economically desirable.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An object of the present invention is to solve the above problem, which is solved by providing a hairbrush having a body, the body having a first brush with a through-hole on its surface and a second brush without a through-hole on its surface, and the body further having a passage in which hairdressing is flowed, wherein one end of the first brush is connected to the passage and the other end is exposed; a grip, the grip having a container for storing hairdressing; and a pump for sending the hairdressing stored in the container to the first brush via the passage.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The preferred embodiment of the invention as a portable hairbrush dedicated to the application of hairdressing with a container for carrying hairdressing is explained together with drawings as follows. In each drawing, the same reference numbers designate the same or similar components through all embodiments. FIG. 1 shows a front view of a hairbrush 100 with a container 2 capable of storing hairdressing, and FIG. 2A shows a side cross-sectional view of the internal structure of the hairbrush 100. The hairbrush 100 of the present invention includes a body 11 formed of plastic, a grip 13 formed of plastic, and a pump mechanism 50. On the surface of the body 11, a plurality of cylindrical-shaped brushes 1 are formed in a grid pattern wherein the brushes 1 are formed of plastic or silicon rubber. Also, a passage 10 for hairdressing materials is formed inside the body. There are two types of brushes 1a and 1b: a first brush 1a formed within the hairdressing spout area 20 and a second brush 1b formed outside the hairdressing spout area 20. Each brush 1a has a through-hole 1c in the longitudinal direction. One end of the through-hole 1c is exposed and the other end is connected to the passage 10. The through-hole 1c at the one end is cross-shaped, as shown in FIG. 4. The hairdressing is designed to spouted through the exposed part of through-hole 1c. The hairdressing may be used in foam of gel. The diameter of the through-hole 1c depends on the type of hairdressing, and if foam is used for hairdressing, it should be about 1 mm, and if gel is used for hairdressing, it should be about 3 mm. The number of the brushes 1a formed within the hairdressing spout area 20 is about 15, which is about 25% of the total number of the brushes 1. No through-holes are formed in the second brush 1b.

A grip 13 includes a container 2 that can store hairdressing. The grip 13 is detachably connected to a part of the main body 11. As shown in FIG. 3 the body 11 has a first screw 15a at its one end, and the grip 13 has a second screw 15b at its one end. The grip 13 is connected to the body 11 by engaging the first screw 15a and the second screw 15b.

The pump mechanism 50 includes a nozzle 3 that sucks up the hairdressing stored in the container 2 from its one end, a first outward opening valve 4 for preventing backflow formed at the other end of the nozzle 3, a feed valve 5 movable in the vertical direction for sucking up the hairdressing wherein it includes a through-hole 5a and a second upward opening valve 5b for opening and closing the through-hole 5a as shown in detail in FIG. 2B, a push rod 7 being connected to the feed valve 5 at it one end, which controls the movement of the feed valve 5, a handle 8 being connected to the other end of the push rod 7 and a storage tank 9 for storing hairdressing carried from the container 2 through the nozzle 3. As described above, the hairdressing is carried from the tank 9 to the first brush 1a through the passage 10.

A method of using the hairbrush 100 of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 2 as follows. First, the grip 13 is detached from the body 11, and the hairdressing is poured into the container 2 located in the grip 13. The grip 13 is then connected to the body 11 such that one end of the nozzle 3 is located in the container 2. After that, the handle 8 is pulled up so that the first outward opening valve 4 attached to the nozzle 3 at its other end opens. As the result of this movement, the hairdressing material in the container 2 is sucked up, and temporarily stored in the tank 9.

The tank 9 in the area where the push rod 7 is connected is tapered, so that the feed valve 5 stops when it moves to that area. After that, the hairdressing being temporarily stored in the tank 9 is spouted from the tip of the brush 1a by the following movements. By pushing the handle 8, the feed valve 5 is moved down toward the first outward opening valve 4. So, the second outward opening valve 5b is released by being pushed by the hairdressing stored in the tank 9. Then, the hairdressing moves to the brush 1a through the passage 10, and the hairdressing is spouted from the tip of the brush 1a via the through-hole 1c.

According the hairbrush 100 having such a structure, when the hairbrush 100 is used for combing the hair with the hairdressing material it is not necessary to clean up the hand because the hairdressing material never comes in direct contact with the hands.

While the invention has been described with reference to illustrative embodiments, this description is not intended to be construed in a limiting sense. Thus, shapes, size and physical relationship of each component are roughly illustrated so the scope of the invention should not be construed to be limited to them. Further, to clarify the components of the invention, hatching is partially omitted in the cross-sectional views. Moreover, the numerical description in the embodiment described above is one of the preferred examples in the preferred embodiment so that the scope of the invention should not be construed to limit them.

Various other modifications of the illustrated embodiment will be apparent to those skilled in the art on reference to this description. For example, the hairdressing material can be used with oil-state material. Further, although the through-hole 1c in the FIG. 4 is illustrated in cross-shaped, the cross-shaped cut at the exposed end is required in the embodiment so that the through-hole may be cylindrical shaped.

Claims

1. A hairbrush, comprising:

a body, the body having a first brush with a through-hole on its surface and a second brush without a through-hole on its surface, and the body further having a passage in which hairdressing is flowed, wherein one end of the first brush is connected to the passage and the other end is exposed;
a grip, the grip having a container for storing hairdressing; and
a pump for sending the hairdressing stored in the container to the first brush via the passage.

2. A hairbrush as claimed in claim 1, wherein the body is made of plastic and the first and second brushes are formed of silicone rubber.

3. A hairbrush as claimed in claim 1, wherein the exposed end of the through-hole formed in the first brush is cross-shaped.
