Pickleball paddle
A pickleball paddle includes a body. The body includes a substrate layer and two panels, the two panels are respectively stacked on two surfaces of the substrate layer, and a peripheral side surface of the body is banded with a plastic strip as a whole, to 5 enable an edge of the plastic strip to be flush with an outer surface of the panel. The body is further provided with a racket body and a handle that is integrally connected to the racket body. A reinforcing board is covered on and fastened to an upper surface and a lower surface of the handle. Foam cotton is attached to an outer surface of each reinforcing board. An anti-slip band is attached to an outer surface of the foam cotton.
The invention relates to pickleball paddles and more particularly to a such a pickleball paddle having improved characteristics.
2. Description of Related ArtA pickleball, a sport played with a racket, is on the rise from Bainbridge Island, Washington state of the United States. It is best described as a mixture of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. The pickleball was invented by two men. A name of “pickle” ball comes from a dog of one of the inventors. A dog, named pickle, used to run with the ball in its mouth when the invention tries to hit the ball.
A racket used to hit the pickleball is called a pickleball paddle. At present, the pickleball paddle mainly includes a body. The body includes a substrate layer and two panels. The two panels are respectively stacked on two surfaces of the substrate layer. The body includes a racket body and a handle that is integrally connected to the racket body. Because the handle with this structure includes only the substrate layer and the two panels, structural strength is weak, and the handle is easy to break, service life is relatively short, and hand feeling of the product is poor. In addition, edges of most of pickleball paddles on the market are U-shaped edges or parallel edges formed by mold molding. 1. U-shaped edge: An edge band is higher than a surface of the racket. In a process of hitting a ball, when the ball touches an edge of the edge band, a direction of the ball is prone to physical change. 2. Parallel edge formed by mold molding: A production process is complicated, efficiency is low, and processing costs are high.
Thus, the need for improvement still exists.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of this, to resolve problems existing in a conventional technology, a main purpose of this invention is to provide a pickleball paddle. The pickleball paddle can effectively resolve problems that a direction of a ball hit by a current pickleball paddle is prone to change and being not aesthetic because a U-shaped edge band, a production process is complicated, a handle is easy to break, and comfort and hand feeling are poor.
To achieve the foregoing objective, the following technical solutions are used in the invention.
A pickleball paddle includes a body. The body includes a substrate layer and two panels. The two panels are respectively stacked on two surfaces of the substrate layer. A peripheral side surface of the body is banded with a plastic strip as a whole, the edge of the plastic strip is fixed by using a fixture, and two surfaces of the racket are automatically trimmed by using a trimming machine, to enable an edge of the plastic strip is flush with an outer surface of the panel. The body includes a racket body and a handle that is integrally connected to the racket body. A reinforcing board is covered on and fastened to an upper surface and a lower surface of the handle, foam cotton is attached to an outer surface of each reinforcing board, and an anti-slip band is attached to an outer surface of the foam cotton.
Preferably, the substrate layer is made of a foam honeycomb material.
Preferably, the panel is a glass fiber panel or a carbon fiber panel.
Preferably, the edge band is adhered to a periphery of the racket with solid glue.
Preferably, the reinforcing board is adhered to an upper side surface and a lower side surface of the handle with solid glue.
Preferably, the foam cotton is attached to the outer surface of the reinforcing board by using gun nails.
Preferably, the anti-slip band is attached to the outer surface of the foam cotton with double-sided adhesive.
Compared with the conventional art, the invention has obvious advantages and beneficial effects. Specifically, it may be learned from the foregoing technical solution that:
Because the reinforcing board is disposed on the handle, strength of the handle is effectively entranced, and the handle is not easy to break. This effectively prolongs service life of the product. In addition, because the foam cotton and the anti-slip band are disposed and edges are banded with the plastic strip, the edge of the plastic strip is flush with the outer surface of the panel. This replaces a conventional design of an edge band, so that the product is more beautiful as a whole, the production process is sample, processing costs are low, production efficiency is greatly improved, and comfort is better. In addition, due to an edge banding technology that the edge of the plastic strip is flush with the outer surface of the panel, when the pickleball touches the edge, the direction of the pickleball does not change uncontrollably. In addition, comfort of hand holding and hand feeling are greatly improved, and experience is better. This brings convenience to hit and control the pickleball, which is much more preferred by the users.

The body 10 includes a substrate layer 101 and two panels 102. The two panels 102 are respectively stacked on two surfaces of the substrate layer 101. A peripheral side surface of the body 10 is banded with a plastic strip 103 as a whole to enable an edge of the plastic strip 103 to be flush with an outer surface of the panel 102. In this embodiment, the substrate layer 101 is made of a foam honeycomb material, and the panel 102 is a glass fiber panel or a carbon fiber panel.
The body 10 further comprises a racket body 11 and a handle 12 that is integrally connected to the racket body 11. A reinforcing board 13 is covered on and fastened to an upper surface and a lower surface of the handle 12 respectively. A foam cotton 14 is attached to an outer surface of each reinforcing board 13. An anti-slip band 15 is attached to an outer surface of the foam cotton 14. In this embodiment, the reinforcing board 13 is adhered to an upper side surface and a lower side surface of the handle 12 with solid glue 16. The foam cotton 14 is attached to the outer surface of the reinforcing board 13 by using gun nails 17. The anti-slip band 15 is attached to the outer surface of the foam cotton 14 with double-sided adhesive 18.
A production process in this embodiment is described in detail as follows:
Preparing the substrate layer 101 and the two panels 102, adhering and fastening the two panels 102 to the two surfaces of the substrate layer 101, and banding the edge with the plastic strip 103 after adhering. The edge banding steps are as follows: First, fastening the plastic strip 103 around the body 10 with hot melt adhesive for edge banding, clamping the plastic strip 103 by using the fixture, solidifying the adhesive to make the plastic strip 103 more solid, and trimming the plastic strip 103 and the two panels 102 by using the trimming machine. Because the trimming machine has an automatic sensing function, flatness of surfaces of the plastic strip 103 and the two panels 102 can be trimmed. Therefore, the trimmed product is more beautiful, and the direction of the ball is not changed. This is more comfortable to use. Next, adhering the reinforcing board 13 on the surfaces of the handle 12 on both sides with solid adhesive 16. It should be noted that, after the solid adhesive 16 is coated, the reinforcing board 13 is adhered after about 5 minutes to 10 minutes. In this way, firmness is better. Adhering the foam cotton 14 on the outer surface of the reinforcing board 13 with the gun nails 17, adhering the double-sided adhesive 18 on the outer surface of the foam cotton 14, and then attaching the anti-slip band 15.
Key points of the invention are: Because the reinforcing board is disposed on the handle, strength of the handle is effectively entranced, and the handle is not easy to break. Claims
1. A pickleball paddle, comprising a body, wherein the body comprises:
- a substrate layer and two panels, the two panels are respectively stacked on two surfaces of the substrate layer, and a peripheral side surface of the body is banded with a plastic strip as a whole, to enable an edge of the plastic strip to be flush with an outer surface of the panel;
- the body further comprises a racket body and a handle that is integrally connected to the racket body, wherein a reinforcing board is covered on and fastened to an upper surface and a lower surface of the handle respectively, a foam cotton is attached to an outer surface of each reinforcing board, and an anti-slip band is attached to an outer surface of the foam cotton.
2. The pickleball paddle of claim 1, wherein the substrate layer is made of a foam honeycomb material.
3. The pickleball paddle of claim 1, wherein the panel is a glass fiber panel or a carbon fiber panel.
4. The pickleball paddle of claim 1, wherein the peripheral side surface is banded with the plastic strip as a whole, the edge of the plastic strip is fixed by using a fixture, and an upper edge and a lower edge are trimmed, to enable the edge of the plastic strip is flush with the outer surface of the panel.
5. The pickleball paddle of claim 1, wherein the reinforcing board is adhered to an upper side surface and a lower side surface of the handle with a solid glue.
6. The pickleball paddle of claim 1, wherein the foam cotton is attached to the outer surface of the reinforcing board by using gun nails.
7. The pickleball paddle of claim 1, wherein the anti-slip band is attached to the outer surface of the foam cotton with a double-sided adhesive.
