HAIRBRUSH WITH REMOVABLE BRISTLE CARRIER

A hairbrush includes a main body including a handle, a base formed with the handle, a framework formed in the base, two opposite cavities formed in a periphery of the base, knurls formed on the framework, channels through the framework, and projections formed on portions of the periphery of the base and the framework respectively; and a bristle carrier including a structural frame, bristles disposed on the structural frame, two opposite protrusions formed on a periphery of the structural frame and disposed in the cavities, ribs formed on the structural frame and disposed in the channels, tunnels each formed between the ribs, and recesses formed in the ribs for receiving the supports. The projections on the framework pass through the tunnels to dispose among the bristles and the knurls urge against the ribs when the main body and the bristle carrier are assembled.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to hairbrushes and more particularly to a hairbrush including a removable bristle carrier having improved characteristics.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Conventionally, a bristle carrier is permanently attached to a main body of a hairbrush. Also, a plurality of bristles are permanently attached to the bristle carrier. This means that hardness of the bristle cannot be changed. However, it has the following drawback in use: one individual may feel comfortable because he or she feels the hardness of the bristle is suitable and the other individual may feel uncomfortable because he or she feels the hardness of the bristle is too low or too high.

Thus, the need for improvement still exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a hairbrush comprising a main body including a handle, a base formed with the handle, a framework formed in the base, two opposite cavities formed in a periphery of the base, a plurality of knurls formed on the framework, a plurality of channels formed through the framework, a plurality of supports formed in the framework, and a plurality of projections formed on portions of the periphery of the base and the framework respectively; and a bristle carrier including a structural frame, a plurality of bristles disposed on the structural frame, two opposite protrusions formed on a periphery of the structural frame and disposed in the cavities, a plurality of ribs formed on the structural frame and disposed in the channels, a plurality of tunnels each formed between the ribs, and a plurality of recesses formed in the ribs for receiving the supports, wherein hardness of the bristles is different from that of the projections; and wherein the projections on the framework pass through the tunnels to dispose among the bristles and the knurls urge against the ribs when the main body and the bristle carrier are assembled.

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a hairbrush according to the invention;

FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the hairbrush viewed from one direction;

FIG. 3 is an exploded view of the hairbrush viewed from the other opposite direction;

FIG. 4 is a front view of the main body and the separate bristle carrier;

FIG. 5 is a front view of the hairbrush in FIG. 1; and

FIG. 6 is a longitudinal sectional view of the hairbrush in FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 6, a hairbrush 100 in accordance with the invention comprises the following components as discussed in detail below.

A main body 1 includes a handle 10, a base 11 formed with the handle 10, a framework 12 formed in the base 11, two opposite cavities 13 formed in a periphery of the base 11, a plurality of knurls 14 formed on the framework 12, a plurality of channels 15 formed through the framework 12, a plurality of supports 16 formed in the framework 12, and a plurality of projections 17 formed on portions of the periphery of the base 11 and the framework 12 respectively.

A bristle carrier 2 includes a structural frame 21, a plurality of bristles 22 disposed on the structural frame 21, two opposite protrusions 23 formed on a periphery of the structural frame 21 and disposed in the cavities 13, a plurality of ribs 24 formed on the structural frame 21 and disposed in the channels 15, a plurality of tunnels 25 each formed between the ribs 24, and a plurality of recesses 26 formed in the ribs 24 for receiving the supports 16.

Hardness of the bristles 22 is different from that of the projections 17. The projections 17 on the framework 12 pass through the tunnels 25 to dispose among the bristles 22 and the knurls 14 urge against the ribs 24 when the main body 1 and the bristle carrier 2 are assembled.

The invention has the following advantages and benefits in comparison with the conventional art: after separation, the main body 1 can be also used in hair care and the bristle carrier 2 can be used for massaging the head.

While the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention can be practiced with modifications within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
