Portable lodgings may include a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which may further define an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell. Portable lodgings may include a sleeve disposed adjacent a surface of the material sheet. A first portion of the sleeve may extend along an exterior surface of the material sheet. A second portion of the sleeve may extend along an interior surface of the material sheet disposed opposite the exterior surface. The sleeve may extend through the material sheet between the first portion and the second portion. Portable lodgings may include a pole disposed in the sleeve. The first portion of the sleeve may be configured to expose a first portion of the pole to the exterior environment. The second portion of the sleeve may be configured to expose a second portion of the pole to the interior area.

BACKGROUND

Current tents may be complicated to assemble. Current tents may compromise on security. Current tents may compromise on shelter from adverse weather conditions.

However, improvements are needed.

SUMMARY

The following summary is for illustrative purposes only, and is not intended to limit or constrain the detailed description.

Portable lodgings may include a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which may further define an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell. Portable lodgings may include a sleeve disposed adjacent a surface of the material sheet. The sleeve may comprise a generally tubular shape defining a sleeve cavity therein. A first portion of the sleeve may extend along an exterior surface of the material sheet. A second portion of the sleeve may extend along an interior surface of the material sheet disposed opposite the exterior surface. The sleeve may extend through the material sheet between the first portion and the second portion. Portable lodgings may include a pole disposed in the sleeve cavity. The pole may be configured to provide support for the portable lodging. The first portion of the sleeve may be configured to expose a first portion of the pole to the exterior environment. The second portion of the sleeve may be configured to expose a second portion of the pole to the interior area.

Methods of manufacturing portable lodgings may include manufacturing a portable lodging comprising a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell. The portable lodging may include a sleeve disposed adjacent a surface of the material sheet. The sleeve may comprise a generally tubular shape defining a sleeve cavity therein. A first portion of the sleeve may extend along an exterior surface of the material sheet. A second portion of the sleeve may extend along an interior surface of the material sheet disposed opposite the exterior surface. The sleeve may extend through the material sheet between the first portion and the second portion. The portable lodging may include a pole disposed in the sleeve cavity. The pole may be configured to provide support for the portable lodging. The first portion of the sleeve may be configured to expose a first portion of the pole to the exterior environment. The second portion of the sleeve may be configured to expose a second portion of the pole to the interior area.

Methods of manufacturing portable lodgings may include manufacturing a portable lodging comprising a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which may further define an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell. The plurality of poles may be configured to provide support for the portable lodging. The first portions of the sleeves may be configured to expose first portions of the poles to the exterior environment. The second portions of the sleeves may be configured to expose second portions of the poles to the interior area.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present disclosure generally relates to a portable lodging.

Described herein are setup systems for a portable lodging (tent, dwelling, temporary shelter, etc.). Systems may comprise a single shell (sheet, wall, etc.). Systems may comprise one or more poles (struts, etc.). Systems may comprise one or more pole sleeves configured to house the poles. The portable lodging may comprise an interior area defined, at least in part, by the one or more poles and the shell. The one or more pole sleeves may transition from being internal (inside the interior area) to external at a transition area. The transition area may be determined based on a balancing between allowing the poles to provide tension to maintain lodging strength and structure (facilitated by the internal area of the pole sleeves) and making the poles usable without a use of pole clips (facilitated by the external area of the pole sleeves). Eliminating use of pole clips reduces construction, cost, and weight. The transition area may comprise a point where the internal area of a pole sleeve terminates. Such sleeves may extend into an interior of the enclosure and may provide a passage for the pole the transition from outside the tent to inside the tent. Sleeve length and the amount of extension may be varied.

Internal portions of the pole sleeves may cross (intersect, overlap, etc.) at a center point of the shell. The one or more pole sleeves may comprise one or two external portions. A first external portion may be disposed at a front of the portable lodging, near the ground. A second external portion may be disposed at a back of the portable lodging, near the ground. Systems described herein may reduce weight of a portable lodging, reduce complexity of portable lodging setup, increase a height and/or volume of an internal area of a portable lodging, permit setup from within an internal area of a portable lodging, which may be desirable in adverse weather conditions, etc.

Sleeves may cross, intersect, overlap, remain spaced apart, or extend in parallel without crossing. Sleeves may extend along straight, curved, or compound paths along the material sheet. The number and arrangement of sleeves may vary depending on desired structural characteristics of the portable lodging. Sleeves may be arranged without crossing within the interior area, wherein structural support is provided by non-intersecting sleeves routed along different regions of the material sheet.

An example portable lodging described herein may comprise an aperture (hole, tunnel, etc.) at a top of a shell when the portable lodging is in use. The aperture may be covered with weatherproof (waterproof, etc.) material. The aperture may be covered by an anchor sleeve. The anchor sleeve may comprise material that allows for weatherproofing (waterproofing, etc.) The anchor sleeve may comprise material that maintains structure. The anchor sleeve may comprise material that performs better at maintaining structure as compared to thinner and/or more flexible material. The anchor sleeve may function separately from the poles. The anchor sleeve may be disposed adjacent one or more pole sleeves. The aperture may allow a coupling component (anchor, rope, sling, etc.) to transition from inside an interior area associated with the portable lodging to an area external to the portable lodging. The coupling component may be used to anchor the portable lodging to an anchor point of a secure structure external to the portable lodging, such as a wall, a rock, a tree, etc. The coupling component may be used by one or more inhabitants of the portable lodging to couple the one or more inhabitants to the anchor point via the coupling component and the anchor. The aperture may be disposed at a most centrally-located location on the portable lodging. Disposing the aperture in a most centrally-located location creates a waterproof pass through.

Although an aperture disposed at a centrally located position on the portable lodging is described, the aperture may alternatively be offset from center, disposed along a seam, disposed near a sidewall, or omitted entirely. Additionally, multiple apertures may be provided.

The coupling component described herein is not limited to a sling and anchor. The coupling component may comprise one or more cords, ropes, webbing, straps, loops, carabiners, hooks, clips, buckles, tensioners, magnetic couplers, or combinations thereof. The coupling component may be configured to couple the portable lodging, or an occupant thereof, to a ground anchor, overhead anchor, vertical structure, natural feature, or other external support.

If pole sleeves are completely disposed internally, then a user needs to access an inside of an associated portable lodging to insert associated poles, which results in weather and/or moisture being exposed to the interior of the portable lodging during assembly. If pole sleeves are completely disposed externally, then a portable lodging will need additional components, bringing additional construction, cost, and/or weight, to secure associated poles to the portable lodging during assembly. The internal pole sleeves accessed from the outside described herein marry benefits of both dispositions: minimized internal moisture exposure during assembly and reduced components, construction, cost, and/or weight.

FIGS. 1A-1D show an example portable lodging 100 described herein. FIG. 1A shows the example portable lodging 100 from an angle wherein a front and a first side are visible and a door 104 is in a closed configuration. FIG. 1B shows the example portable lodging 100 from an angle wherein the front and a second side are visible and the door 104 is in a partially open configuration. FIG. 1C shows the example portable lodging 100 from an angle wherein a back is visible. FIG. 1D is an enlarged view of a portion of FIG. 1D marked by the circle D.

The portable lodging 100 may comprise a material sheet 102. The material sheet 102 may define a shell of the portable lodging 100. The portable lodging 100 may comprise a single material sheet (wall, etc.) 102. The material sheet 102 may comprise the door 104. The door 104 may open to an interior area 130. The door 104 may change between an open configuration and a closed configuration via a zipper. The material sheet 102 may comprise an aperture 108. The aperture 108 may be covered with or defined by weatherproof (waterproof, etc.) material, such as sturdy material 107. The aperture 108 may be defined by a channel or tube of material extending via the interior area 130. The aperture 108 may allow a coupling component (anchor, rope, sling, etc.) to transition from inside the interior area 130 to an external environment. The coupling component may comprise a sling 110 and an anchor 112. The coupling component may be used to anchor the portable lodging 100 to an anchor point of a secure structure external to the portable lodging 100, such as a wall, a rock, a tree, etc. The coupling component may be used by one or more inhabitants of the portable lodging 100 to couple the one or more inhabitants to the anchor point via the coupling component. The material sheet 102 may comprise material configured to be breathable. The material sheet 102 may comprise material configured to be breathable and weatherproof.

As an illustrative example, a material sheet (e.g., material sheet 102) may be configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell. An aperture assembly (e.g., material defining aperture 108) may be disposed through the material sheet, the aperture assembly defining an enclosed pass-through extending via the interior area and facilitating end-to-end access to the enclosed pass-through from the exterior environment, where the aperture assembly may include weatherproof configuration arranged to resist ingress of water through the pass-through into the interior area, and where the aperture assembly is configured to allow a coupling component to extend through the pass-through so that a portion of the coupling component is connectable to an external anchor point to secure at least the portable lodging. Various configurations may be used.

The portable lodging 100 may comprise one or more poles 120 (e.g., pole 120a, 120b). The one or more poles 120 may define a structure to support the material sheet 102. The one or more poles 120 and the material sheet 102 may define a form of the shell of the portable lodging 100. The shell may define the interior area 130 sheltered from the external environment.

As used herein, a pole may comprise any elongate support member configured to provide structural support to the portable lodging. Poles may be rigid, semi-rigid, flexible, segmented, collapsible, telescoping, inflatable, composite, or formed from multiple coupled sections. In some embodiments, poles may include shock cords, internal tension members, joints, or hinges. A pole need not be cylindrical and may comprise circular, oval, polygonal, flat, or irregular cross-sectional shapes.

The transition of a sleeve through the material sheet may occur at one or more locations along the sleeve length. The transition may be formed by passing the sleeve through an aperture in the material sheet, by coupling separate interior and exterior sleeve portions through aligned openings, or by folding or laminating material of the material sheet to define the transition region. The transition region may include reinforcement layers, seam tape, adhesive bonding, stitching, or combinations thereof to maintain weather resistance and structural integrity.

The portable lodging 100 may comprise one or more sleeves. The one or more sleeves may be configured to receive the one or more poles 120. The one or more sleeves may be disposed adjacent to the material sheet 102. A first of the one or more sleeves may comprise a generally tubular shape. The generally tubular shape may include circular, oval, polygonal, flattened, or irregular cross-sectional profiles. The generally tubular shape may define a sleeve cavity associated with the first sleeve. A first portion of the first sleeve may extend along an exterior surface 132 of the material sheet 102. A second portion of the first sleeve may extend along an interior surface 134 of the material sheet 102 disposed opposite the exterior surface 132. The first sleeve may extend through the material sheet 102 between the first portion and the second portion. A third portion of the first sleeve may extend along the exterior surface 132 of the material sheet 102. The first sleeve may extend through the material sheet 102 between the second portion and the third portion. The first portion of the first sleeve may be configured to expose a first portion of the pole to the exterior environment. The second portion of the first sleeve may be configured to expose a second portion of the pole to the interior area 130. The third portion of the first sleeve may be configured to expose a third portion of the pole to the exterior environment. The one or more sleeves will be described in more detail in reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.

A sleeve as described herein is not limited to a fully enclosed tubular structure. A sleeve may comprise any elongate pole-guiding structure configured to receive, retain, constrain, or guide at least a portion of a pole relative to the material sheet. For example, a sleeve may comprise a fully enclosed tube, a partially open channel or passage, a folded or layered fabric passage, a reinforced hem, a laminated structure, a stitched pathway, or combinations thereof. The sleeve may include one or more openings along its length, may be formed from multiple discrete components, or may transition between different cross-sectional shapes along its length.

The material sheet 102 and/or the one or more sleeves may comprise a material configured to enable waterproofing. The material sheet 102 and/or the one or more sleeves may comprise a material configured to enable seam taping. The material sheet 102 and/or the one or more sleeves may comprise a material configured to reduce friction between the one or more poles and the one or more sleeves. The material sheet 102 and/or the one or more sleeves may comprise a material configured to facilitate easy set up and/or take down of the portable lodging 100.

The portable lodging 100 may comprise one or more sleeves 150a, 150b defining one or more sleeve cavities 106a, 106b therein. The one or more sleeves 150a, 150b may be configured to extend in or via the interior area 130 of the example portable lodging 100. However, the one or more sleeve cavities 106a, 106b may be open to an exterior of the portable lodging 100 such that one or more poles 120 may be inserted into the one or more sleeve cavities 106a, 106b from a position exterior to the portable lodging 100 and further inserted via the one or more sleeve cavities 106a, 106b through the one or more sleeves 150a, 150b extending in or via the interior area 130 of the example portable lodging 100.

A sleeve cavity may be continuous or discontinuous along the length of a sleeve and may fully surround a pole or may partially surround the pole while still guiding movement of the pole during assembly, use, or disassembly of the portable lodging.

The one or more sleeve cavities 106a, 106b may be configured to receive the one or more poles 120a, 120b. The one or more poles 120a, 120b may be disposed in the one or more sleeve cavities 106a, 106b and provide support for the portable lodging 100. In an embodiment, the portable lodging 100 may comprise two poles 120 and two pole sleeves. In such an embodiment, the portable lodging 100 may comprise two sleeve cavities 106a, 106b or four sleeve cavities 106a, 106b. When the portable lodging 100 comprises two sleeve cavities 106a, 106b, each of the poles 120a, 120b may be routed through one of the sleeve cavities 106a, 106b. When the portable lodging 100 comprises four sleeve cavities 106a, 106b, each of the poles 120a, 120b may be routed through a first of the sleeve cavities 106a, 106b and out a second of the sleeve cavities 106a, 106b. When the portable lodging 100 comprises two sleeve cavities 106a, 106b, the two sleeve cavities 106a, 106b may be configured on a same side of the portable lodging 100, such as on a front, on a back, on a left side, or on a right side.

The portable lodging 100 may comprise the sturdy material 107. For example, the sturdy material 107 may be disposed over the door 104 and/or any other opening. As another example, the sturdy material 107 may be disposed between the material sheet 102 and the ground, forming a floor. As another example, the sturdy material 107 may be disposed in and/or adjacent the aperture 108. The sturdy material 107 may comprise ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The sturdy material 107 may comprise Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF). The sturdy material 107 may comprise Cuben Fiber (CTF3). The sturdy material 107 may comprise high-performance non-woven composite material. The use of the material sheet 102 and the sturdy material balances durability and waterproofing in specific locations, and breathability in an ultralight package.

Areas of the portable lodging 100 may have various thickness material or layers to balance weight, while providing material support. For example, corner areas 160 of the portable lodging 100 may comprise multi-layer material or sturdier material than in other areas of the material sheet 102 to support the termination of the poles 120. Other areas may be adapted throughout the material sheet 102. As an illustration, the corner areas 160 may be configured to receive and end of the one or more poles 120 and to support the end to allow the poles 120 to bend and provide structure to the portable lodging 100. By having more thickness or material of higher sturdiness (which may be exhibited as higher tear strength, tensile strength, puncture resistance, or the like, in accordance with standards such as ASTM or ISO standards, for example), the corners 160 may be configured to support more load from the poles 120.

FIG. 2 shows a view from inside the example interior area 130 of the example portable lodging 100 described in FIGS. 1A-1D. The interior area 130 is surrounded by the interior surface 134 of the material sheet 102. As shown, a first sleeve 150a and a second sleeve 150b may be disposed, coupled, or integrally formed with the interior surface. The first sleeve 150a and the second sleeve 150b may cross (intersect, overlap, etc.). Alternatively or additionally, the sleeves 150a, 105b may cross (intersect, overlap, etc.) with a channel or tube of material defining the aperture 108. One or more of the sleeves 105a, 105b may be coupled to the material sheet 102 via stitching or other coupling means. As shown, the first sleeve 150a is coupled to the material sheet 102 via a first stitching 203a and the second sleeve 150b is coupled to the material sheet via a second stitching 203b. The material sheet 102 may comprise a stitching pattern for every or no sleeves. The first stitching 203a and/or the second stitching 203b may be and/or comprise a double needle stitch. As an illustrative example, the first stitching 203a may continue along a length of the first sleeve 150a, while the second stitching 203b may be discontinuous along a length of the second sleeve 150b to create a coupling gap 152 between the second sleeve 150b and the material sheet 102. The coupling gap may allow controlled freedom of movement between the second sleeve 150b and the material sheet 102. As an illustrative example, as poles 120 are being extended through the sleeves 150, the coupling gap may allow movement between the sleeves 150 and the poles such that the poles 120 move past the juncture area of the sleeves 150 without getting caught or impeded. Various stitching and coupling gaps may be used on the sleeves or other materials.

FIG. 3 shows an example sleeve 300, which may be similar to the sleeves 200a, 200b described in FIG. 2. The sleeve 300 may be coupled to material sheet 302. The material sheet 302 may be similar to the material sheet 102 in FIGS. 1A-1D. The material sheet 302 may comprise a stitching 303. The stitching 303 may be similar to the stitches 203a, 203b in FIG. 2. The sleeve 300 may be coupled to the material sheet 302 at the stitching 303. An adhesive 305 may be used to couple the sleeve 300 to the material sheet 302. The adhesive 305 may comprise seam tape. The adhesive 305 may comprise one or more of UHMWPE DCF, CTF3 and/or high-performance non-woven composite material. The adhesive 305 may be configured to adhere to material comprising one or more of UHMWPE, DCF, CTF3 and/or high-performance non-woven composite material. A pole 320 may be disposed in the sleeve 300. The pole 320 may be similar to the one or more poles 120 in FIGS. 1A-1D.

Methods of manufacturing portable lodgings described herein may further include forming one or more apertures in the material sheet prior to coupling sleeves to the material sheet, reinforcing transition regions where sleeves pass through the material sheet, applying seam tape or adhesive across stitched regions to improve weather resistance, and coupling sleeves to the material sheet using stitching, adhesive bonding, lamination, or combinations thereof. Sleeves may be partially coupled to the material sheet to define controlled movement regions that facilitate insertion of poles during assembly.

The present disclosures comprise at least the following example aspects.

Example Clause 20: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses 11-19, where third portions of the sleeves extend along the exterior surface of the material sheet, where the sleeves extend through the material sheet between the second portions and the third portions, and where the third portions of the sleeves are configured to expose third portions of the poles to the exterior environment.

Example Clause 21: A method of manufacturing a portable lodging, where the portable lodging may include: a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell; a sleeve disposed adjacent a surface of the material sheet, the sleeve may include a generally tubular shape defining a sleeve cavity therein, where a first portion of the sleeve extends along an exterior surface of the material sheet, where a second portion of the sleeve extends along an interior surface of the material sheet disposed opposite the exterior surface, and where the sleeve extends through the material sheet between the first portion and the second portion; a pole disposed in the sleeve cavity and configured to provide support for the portable lodging, where the first portion of the sleeve is configured to expose a first portion of the pole to the exterior environment, where the second portion of the sleeve is configured to expose a second portion of the pole to the interior area.

Example Clause 22: The method of manufacturing the portable lodging of Example Clause 21, where the portable lodging further may include: a second sleeve disposed adjacent the surface of the material sheet, the second sleeve may include a generally tubular shape defining a second sleeve cavity therein; and a second pole disposed in the second sleeve cavity and configured to provide support for the portable lodging.

Example Clause 23: The method of manufacturing the portable lodging of Example Clause 21 or Example Clause 22, where the first portion of the pole is configured to couple to the ground.

Example Clause 32: The method of manufacturing the portable lodging of Example Clause 31, where the plurality of sleeves may include two sleeves and where the plurality of poles may include two poles.

Example Clause A: A portable lodging comprising: a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell; an aperture assembly disposed through the material sheet, the aperture assembly defining an enclosed pass-through extending via the interior area and facilitating end-to-end access to the enclosed pass-through from the exterior environment, where the aperture assembly may include weatherproof configuration arranged to resist ingress of water through the pass-through into the interior area, and where the aperture assembly is configured to allow a coupling component to extend through the pass-through so that a portion of the coupling component is connectable to an external anchor point to secure at least the portable lodging.

Example Clause B: The portable lodging of Example Clause A, where the aperture assembly may include an anchor sleeve defining a channel that extends through the material sheet from an interior opening to an exterior opening.

Example Clause C: The portable lodging of Example Clause A or Example Clause B, where the anchor sleeve is coupled to the material sheet such that a sealed interface is formed around the pass-through to inhibit water ingress between the anchor sleeve and the material sheet.

Example Clause D: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses A-C, where the sealed interface may include at least one of seam tape, adhesive bonding, or sealed stitching disposed around the pass-through.

Example Clause E: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses A-D, where the aperture assembly is disposed at an upper region of the shell when the portable lodging is in use.

Example Clause F: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses A-E, where the coupling component may include at least one of webbing, a strap, a cord, a rope, a loop, a sling, or a carabiner.

Example Clause G: A portable lodging, may include: a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell; a plurality of sleeves disposed adjacent a surface of the material sheet, the sleeves defining sleeve cavities therein, where first portions of the sleeves extend along an exterior surface of the material sheet, and where the sleeves extend through the material sheet to provide passage to the interior area; an a plurality of poles disposed in the sleeve cavities and configured to provide support for the portable lodging, where the first portions of the sleeves are configured to expose first portions of the poles to the exterior environment, where second portions of the sleeves are configured to expose second portions of the poles to the interior area.

Example Clause H: The portable lodging of Example Clause G, where the plurality of sleeves may include two sleeves and where the plurality of poles may include two poles.

Example Clause I: The portable lodging of Example Clause G or Example Clause H, where the first portions of the poles are configured to couple to the ground.

Example Clause J: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses G-I, where the first portion of the pole is configured to couple to the ground.

Example Clause K: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses G-J, where the sleeve is accessible from the interior area during assembly of the portable lodging.

Example Clause L: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses G-K, where the sleeve at least partially surrounds the pole.

Example Clause M: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses G-L, further may include an aperture assembly disposed through the material sheet, the aperture assembly defining an enclosed pass-through extending via the interior area and facilitating end-to-end access to the enclosed pass-through from the exterior environment, where the aperture assembly may include weatherproof configuration arranged to resist ingress of water through the pass-through into the interior area, and where the aperture assembly is configured to allow a coupling component to extend through the pass-through so that a portion of the coupling component is connectable to an external anchor point to secure at least the portable lodging.

Example Clause N: The portable lodging of any one of Example Clauses G-M, where at least one of the sleaves is coupled to the material sheet by securing the at least one of the sleaves to a folded region of the material sheet.

Claims

1. A portable lodging, comprising:

a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell;
a sleeve disposed adjacent a surface of the material sheet, the sleeve defining a sleeve cavity therein, wherein a first portion of the sleeve extends along an exterior surface of the material sheet, wherein a second portion of the sleeve extends along an interior surface of the material sheet disposed opposite the exterior surface, and wherein the sleeve extends through the material sheet between the first portion and the second portion; and
a pole disposed in the sleeve cavity and configured to provide support for the portable lodging, wherein the first portion of the sleeve is configured to expose a first portion of the pole to the exterior environment, wherein the second portion of the sleeve is configured to enclose a second portion of the pole extending via the interior area.

2. The portable lodging of claim 1, further comprising:

a second sleeve disposed adjacent the surface of the material sheet, the second sleeve defining a second sleeve cavity therein; and
a second pole disposed in the second sleeve cavity and configured to provide support for the portable lodging.

3. The portable lodging of claim 1, wherein the first portion of the pole is configured to couple to the ground.

4. The portable lodging of claim 1, wherein the sleeve is accessible from the interior area during assembly of the portable lodging.

5. The portable lodging of claim 1, wherein the sleeve at least partially surrounds the pole.

6. The portable lodging of claim 1, further comprising an aperture assembly disposed through the material sheet, the aperture assembly defining an enclosed pass-through extending via the interior area and facilitating end-to-end access to the enclosed pass-through from the exterior environment, wherein the aperture assembly comprises weatherproof configuration arranged to resist ingress of water through the pass-through into the interior area, and wherein the aperture assembly is configured to allow a coupling component to extend through the pass-through so that a portion of the coupling component is connectable to an external anchor point to secure at least the portable lodging.

7. A portable lodging, comprising:

a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell;
an aperture assembly disposed through the material sheet, the aperture assembly defining an enclosed pass-through extending via the interior area and facilitating end-to-end access to the enclosed pass-through from the exterior environment, wherein the aperture assembly comprises weatherproof configuration arranged to resist ingress of water through the pass-through into the interior area, and wherein the aperture assembly is configured to allow a coupling component to extend through the pass-through so that a portion of the coupling component is connectable to an external anchor point to secure at least the portable lodging.

8. The portable lodging of claim 7, wherein the aperture assembly comprises an anchor sleeve defining a channel that extends through the material sheet from an interior opening to an exterior opening.

9. The portable lodging of claim 8, wherein the anchor sleeve is coupled to the material sheet such that a sealed interface is formed around the pass-through to inhibit water ingress between the anchor sleeve and the material sheet.

10. The portable lodging of claim 9, wherein the sealed interface comprises at least one of seam tape, adhesive bonding, or sealed stitching disposed around the pass-through.

11. The portable lodging of claim 7, wherein the aperture assembly is disposed at an upper region of the shell when the portable lodging is in use.

12. The portable lodging of claim 7, wherein the coupling component comprises at least one of webbing, a strap, a cord, a rope, a loop, a sling, or a carabiner.

13. A portable lodging, comprising:

a material sheet configured to define a shell of the portable lodging, which further defines an interior area sheltered from an exterior environment via the shell;
a plurality of sleeves disposed adjacent a surface of the material sheet, the sleeves defining sleeve cavities therein, wherein first portions of the sleeves extend along an exterior surface of the material sheet, and wherein the sleeves extend through the material sheet to provide passage to the interior area; an
a plurality of poles disposed in the sleeve cavities and configured to provide support for the portable lodging, wherein the first portions of the sleeves are configured to expose first portions of the poles to the exterior environment, wherein second portions of the sleeves are configured to expose second portions of the poles to the interior area.

14. The portable lodging of claim 13, wherein the plurality of sleeves comprise two sleeves and wherein the plurality of poles comprise two poles.

15. The portable lodging of claim 13, wherein the first portions of the poles are configured to couple to the ground.

16. The portable lodging of claim 13, wherein the first portion of the pole is configured to couple to the ground.

17. The portable lodging of claim 13, wherein the sleeve is accessible from the interior area during assembly of the portable lodging.

18. The portable lodging of claim 13, wherein the sleeve at least partially surrounds the pole.

19. The portable lodging of claim 13, further comprising an aperture assembly disposed through the material sheet, the aperture assembly defining an enclosed pass-through extending via the interior area and facilitating end-to-end access to the enclosed pass-through from the exterior environment, wherein the aperture assembly comprises weatherproof configuration arranged to resist ingress of water through the pass-through into the interior area, and wherein the aperture assembly is configured to allow a coupling component to extend through the pass-through so that a portion of the coupling component is connectable to an external anchor point to secure at least the portable lodging.

20. The portable lodging of claim 13, wherein at least one of the sleaves is coupled to the material sheet by securing the at least one of the sleaves to a folded region of the material sheet.
