This design is for a portable light box for lighting an object such as a photographic positive and negative. The article comprises a battery space inside of the body, a light for lighting the object on an upper part of the body, and a transparent rotary cover on the upper part and a light switch on the front side of the body.

The upper part has a concavity which as a groove on both sides. The cover is set between the grooves, and the object is set between the cover and the concavity and it is fixed by the cover. The object may also be put on the concavity without the cover. Also, the object to be lighted may be put directly on the cover.

This article is of a size to be held by one's hand and the switch is positioned to be operated by the thumb of the hand. The front side of the body has an unevenness so as to prevent slip.
