Description

FIG. 1 shows an exploded perspective view of a pipette tip handling device assembly of the present invention. From top to bottom, the individual components are identified as an actuator housing, actuator plate, pipette tips, distal barrier plate, alignment housing, and loading block. The ellipsis markings indicate the presence of a full complement of pipette tips where the full complement of pipette tips were omitted for clarity of illustration. The full complement of pipette tips, as shown in FIG. 2, form part of the claimed design;

FIG. 2 shows an exploded perspective view as seen in FIG. 1 of a pipette tip handling device assembly of the present invention with a full complement of pipette tips added for illustrative purposes;

FIG. 3 shows an enlarged side elevation view of a pipette tip of the pipette tip handling device assembly shown separately for clarity of illustration. Pipette tip(s) is/are shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 5-11, 15 and 16 with partial views thereof in FIGS. 4, 13 and 14;

FIG. 4 illustrates a cross section of the pipette tip of FIG. 3 taken along lines 4-4 or FIG. 3;

FIG. 5 shows a perspective view of an assembled pipette tip handling device assembly of FIG. 1. The ellipsis markings indicate the presence of a full complement of pipette tips where the full complement of pipette tips were omitted for clarity of illustration. A full complement of pipette tips, as shown in FIG. 2, form part of the claimed design;

FIG. 6 is a cross sectional view taken along line 6-6 of the pipette tip handling device assembly of FIG. 5. FIG. 8 shows the view of FIG. 7 after the actuator has been fully actuated. From top to bottom, the individual components are identified as an actuator housing, actuator plate, distal barrier plate, alignment housing, and loading block comprising pipette tips. FIG. 12 is a perspective view of a loading block portion of a pipette tip handling device assembly shown separately for clarity of illustration;

FIG. 13 shows a distal nozzle of a pipettor engaging a proximal port of a pipette tip in a loading block portion of FIG. 12;

FIG. 14 shows multiple nozzles of an automated manifold engaging multiple pipette tips in a loading block portion of FIG. 12;

FIG. 15 shows the cross sectional view of FIG. 6 with the addition of a second alignment housing situated between the actuator housing and first alignment housing. From top to bottom, the individual components are identified as an actuator housing, actuator plate, pipette tips, first alignment housing, pipette tips, distal barrier plate comprising pipette tips, second alignment housing, and loading block.
