Patent number: RE30586Abstract: A solid-state (IC) regulated voltage supply compensated for effects of changes in temperature comprising first and second transistors operated at different current densities. Associated circuitry develops a voltage proportional to the .DELTA.V.sub.BE of the two transistors and having a positive temperature coefficient. This voltage is connected in series with the V.sub.BE voltage of one of the two transistors, having a negative temperature coefficient, to produce a resultant voltage with nearly zero temperature coefficient. A feedback circuit responsive to current flow through the two transistors automatically adjusts the base voltages to maintain a predetermined ratio of current density for the two transistors. Other embodiments provide higher-level DC outputs and compensation for base current flow.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1979Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Assignee: Analog Devices, IncorporatedInventor: Adrian P. Brokaw

Patent number: RE30587Abstract: The transistors of a differential amplifier are coupled at their common emitter electrode connection to a low voltage power supply terminal and at their collector electrodes through respective current sinks to a point of reference potential. The collector electrodes are maintained at a voltage level above the reference potential to permit input signal swings at the base electrodes of the transistors a comparable amount below the reference voltage level. Current sources are provided for satisfying that portion of the current demand of these sinks not furnished by the transistors. When the amplifier is connected to operate as a voltage follower, additional transistors may be provided to prevent an undesirable change in the polarity of the output signal, when the input signal swings substantially below the reference voltage level.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1978Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Assignee: RCA CorporationInventor: Otto H. Schade, Jr.

Patent number: 4262376Abstract: Illustratively, a portion of a thin sheet of high thermal conductivity material is wrapped in tight thermal communication about the external surface of a working fluid conduit. A hinged male die presses part of the portion of the sheet into a semi-cylindrical female mold. The die is removed and the fluid conduit is placed in the semi-cylindrical sheet. Another hinged mold, with the aid of a drawing up mechanism bend the balance of the sheet portion into thermal communication with the hitherto exposed conduit surface. Beveled mold edge also exposes a seam for joining the sheet portion to the balance of the sheet.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1979Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Inventor: Robert L. Nevins

Patent number: 4262377Abstract: For the continuous wet heat treatment in the processing of a cloth comprising transporting the cloth continuously through a plurality of high pressure steamer bodies having different functions and being connected directly with each other under a saturated water vapor at a relatively low temperature of about 130.degree. C. to subject the cloth to different kinds of treatments therein. A plurality of high pressure steamer bodies, which may have different functions, transport a cloth continuously therethrough, the steamer bodies are composed of universal units arranged transversely, provided respectively with a cloth inlet and a cloth outlet situated at the same level and connected directly with each other by joining the cloth inlet and outlet of the adjacent steamer bodies, and with the cloth inlet and the cloth outlet situated at the opposite ends of the combined steam bodies each having a seal mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1979Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Assignee: Sando Iron Works Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshikazu Sando, Hiroshi Ishidoshiro

Patent number: 4262378Abstract: A buoyant capsule depth controller is presented for positioning and maintaining a capsule within the ocean waters for establishing an observation or defense station. A bouyant capsule is connected to a weight assembly by means of explosive fittings which detonate at a predetermined depth to separate the two. The buoyant capsule and weight assembly are then held together by means of a short line of fixed length until a second predetermined depth is reached, at which time a pressure-actuated release mechanism releases the short line and a cable wound within the weight assembly is payed out to the buoyant capsule below a preset depth as the weight assembly sinks to the ocean floor. The paying out of the cable rotates a shaft within the weight assembly which in turn drives an hydraulic pump, the output of the pump being controlled by a valve to regulate the amount of drag which the pump exerts upon the shaft thus controlling the rate of cable pay out.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1979Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Assignee: Goodyear Aerospace CorporationInventors: Charles A. Phillips, John A. Pitrone, Edward W. McGraw

Patent number: 4262379Abstract: A marker buoy attached to an object such as a lobster or crab trap by a latch and released by a trigger struck by a falling weight. A sealed buoy compartment contains a first permanent magnet holding the weight in upper position by a supportive pole relationship to the poles of a second permanent magnet on the weight and releasing the weight when the first magnet is pivoted to a relative position of poles not sufficiently supportive of the weight. The first magnet is pivoted by an electric motor controlled by an electric clock. Setting of the clock and other operations are accomplished without disturbing compartment seals by an external hand-held magnet operating on internal magnetic reed switches. A line tethers the buoy to the object when the latch is released.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1978Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Inventor: Walter J. Jankiewicz
