  • Patent number: 4267693
Abstract: Fuel flow to a gas turbine engine is controlled in response to power lever position and CDP. Fuel is supplied to the engine through three fuel flow regulating circuits which are in parallel. In one of these circuits there is a valve which establishes a minimum fuel flow which decreases with increasing power lever advance. In a second circuit there is a valve which modifies fuel flow in response to CDP. In a third circuit there is a valve which modifies fuel flow in response to CDP and receives fuel from a valve which opens with increasing power lever advance. The fuel control system includes a low power sensitive torque motor which may be activated to increase the pressure drop across the three circuits whose flow thus increases proportionally. Normal engine operation is obtainable without the use of the torque motor which provides an interface to an electronic control unit which senses various engine and ambient parameters and activates the torque motor in order to modify fuel flow accordingly.

  • Patent number: 4267703
Abstract: A feed stock comprising sugar, milk solids, a significant amount of moisture, and in some instances chocolate, is raised to a temperature of about 125.degree. C. and at the same time is condensed to have a moisture content of between about 4% and 6%. This is done by moving the material upwardly in an annular column and heating the walls defining that annular column. The condensed material is maintained at its final temperature and transferred to a crystallizer. In the crystallizer it is moved downwardly and kneaded. The kneading is performed by two sets of interdigitating rods, one set being stationary and the other set moving transversely to the downward path of movement of the material. As it is being kneaded it is cooled, both by contact with refrigerated surfaces and also by a countercurrent flow of cool air. The kneading is continued until the product is crystallized and particulate. Thereafter, it is optionally dried to a moisture content of about 1%.

  • Patent number: 4267711
Abstract: A system (10) for controlling the flow of temperature selected water to the tub of a washing machine. Individual solenoid operated inlet valves (12,15) are employed to admit and control mixing of water from a heated and unheated source. The temperature selected mixed water is discharged through a third solenoid operated diverter valve (24) yielding a high rate of flow when the solenoid thereof is deenergized and a lower rate of discharge to the tub when the flow control valve solenoid is energized by the water level sensing switch (48) associated with the tub. A timer controlled switch (82) interrupts the power to the hot and cold filling valves to provide stepped filling during agitation during washing and rinsing cycles. The valve assembly employs only three solenoid valve operators.
