Abstract: A new variety of hybrid tea rose for greenhouse culture and commercial production of cut flowers distinguished by its continuous and abundant production of large cardinal red flowers on long, strong stems; and its long and attractively pointed buds which, when half opened, display a flower having a high pointed center with the inner petals provided with a very desirable swirling effect and having a tendency to individually unfurl until the flower is fully opened thereby displaying a center of many yellow stamens which enhances and accentuates the velvety iridescence of the redness in the opened flower. This new plant has a vigorous, much branched growth habit and a moderately abundant production of medium large leaves and of strong, large diameter canes.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of Oriental Hybrid lily plant of the Parkmannis type, particularly distinguished by its flat, acutely-upright, reddish-pink flowers which have white undulating margins and which are borne in raceme arrangement on long, strong stems and strong, upright pedicels, usually with one bud or flower on each pedicel, and by its dark green, glossy and relatively disease-resistant foliage.
Abstract: Locking hood assembly for mounting on a gas service head valve of the lubricated plug type to prevent unauthorized opening of the valve. Locking hood assembly comprises a generally cylindrical main body or hood which covers the valve stem and stop collar when it is mounted on the valve thus preventing valve operation, the hood being attached to the valve using the removable buttonhead grease fitting which is conventionally an element of the valve itself. Assembly further comprises a cover cap which conceals the grease fitting after the hood is mounted on the valve; and a barrel lock which locks the cover cap to the main body or hood. The main body further has an enlarged, generally oval-shaped, peripherally extending skirt portion which fits over the oval-shaped gland seal cover plate of the valve when the hood is in place and prevents access to the gland seal cover bolts and to the normal spacing between the gland seal cover and the valve housing.
Abstract: The invention relates to the recovering of free metal entrained in dross or skimmings obtained from melts of aluminum and aluminum based alloys wherein the dross zhas been partially prepared by prior art preparation processes. The invention is directed to the cleaning and preparation of the dross by the more effective removal of substantial portions of the oxide coatings on the dross. This results in the recovery of a significantly higher proportion of the free metal contained in the dross than is recovered using prior art cleaning and recovery processes. The dross, as partially processed by prior art methods, is sequentially fed through selected mechanical rolling and milling stages so as to separate aluminum oxide dust and aluminum concentrates from one another. The aluminum concentrates may be utilized in conventional furnace recovery methods to produce aluminum ingot or may be further processed through selected stages to produce high quality aluminum pellets.
Abstract: A dialyzer with a housing includes a pair of inflow and outflow pipes for blood and dialysis solution, and a tubular ring body formed from a plurality of hollow filaments joined to one another at their ends and positioned in the housing such that one pair of the pipes is in communicating relationship with open ends of the hollow filaments and the other pair of the pipes communicates with the interstices between adjacent filament forming said tubular ring body. The invention also provides a dialyzer cartridge and a method of manufacturing such cartridge.

Abstract: A weight lifter's belt fabricated from leather which is lined with a thin layer of foamed flexible plastic having a Shore A Durometer hardness of between about 10 and 25, the liner being attached to the inner surface of the belt by a flexible adhesive. The liner, as outlined above, provides added comfort to the wearer and effects heat retention in the back and back muscles of the wearer and enhances blood circulation in the lower back to improve lifting performances.
Abstract: An eye protector to be secured over at least one eye and a head strap to attach the eye protector to the head of a wearer. There is an inner slot and an outer slot at one edge of the protector through which slots the head strap is positioned. There is a further slot extending outwardly from the outer slot to an outer edge of the protector, generally transverse to the outer slot. The strap may be engaged in the outer slot by feeding an edge of the strap through the generally transverse slot to engage in the outer slot. A strap to extend between the two eyepieces of an eye protector is also disclosed. The strap has a central thin, flexible section and end sections, one attached to each end of the flexible portion. The end sections are relatively stiff compared with the central section. Spaced projections formed on the relatively stiff sections. The head strap is easier to adjust than prior art straps and the nose strap acts to prevent leaks at the inner edges of the eyepieces.
Abstract: A collapsible splash guard is provided which is adapted to be mounted in a toilet, and which is constructed for movement between an extended operative position when the toilet seat is in a raised position and a collapsed storage position when the seat is in a lowered position. The splash guard comprises a plurality of segments assembled in nested relation with one another and normally arranged in a collapsed storage position within the bowl of the toilet when the seat of the toilet is in the lowered position. The innermost of the nested segments is connected to the toilet seat in such a manner that when the toilet seat is lifted to the raised position, the innermost segment is lifted upwardly from within the bowl and the nested segments are moved with respect to one another from a nested relationship into an extended overlapping relationship positioned above the toilet bowl and forming an enclosure shieldingly surrounding the back and side portions of the bowl.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a portable shower particularly adapted for use at construction sites, campgrounds, industrial plants, truck and auto service stations and the like in which persons can conveniently and efficiently shower, the module including first, second and third compartments within which a person can respectively disrobe, shower and dress, first through third doors for respectively entering the first through third compartments and a fourth door for exiting the third compartment, first through fourth locks associated with the first through fourth doors, a conveyor for conveying clothes placed upon the same in the first compartment to the third compartment, and a control mechanism for operating the conveyor means to move the clothing from the first compartment to the third compartment generally in synchronism with the movement of the person from the first to the third compartment.
Abstract: An apparatus combining a flush toilet including a toilet bowl and water supply tank and a device for preventing the flow of water into and out of the supply tank. The supply tank includes a ball float and an outlet water control plunger which is located adjacent to a vertically extending pipe mounted at the base of the tank. A tubular sleeve is installed over the pipe and includes thereon an outer sleeve and a control arm that is pivotedly attached to the tubular sleeve and positioned below and generally opposite to the ball float. A plunger is mounted onto and extending out from the tubular sleeve and is positioned above and generally opposite to the water control plunger. A triggering device is provided to activate the control arm and the plunger to contact the ball float and water control plunger to stop the flow of water into and out of the supply tank.
Abstract: This inflatable boat comprising at least one hull consisting of at least first and second elements disposed side by side, inflatable separately, and one or a plurality of additional elements inflatable separately and adapted to support one or a plurality of relatively heavy members to be secured to the hull, in case the first inflatable element becomes inoperative. Preferably, the additional element is included in the volume of the first element and in the upper portion thereof, in the vicinity of the wall of the second element, so that when the first element becomes inoperative the second element can support the additional inflatable element and the heavy member is kept in a fixed position. This heavy member may consist for example of an outboard motor or a sail mast supporting structure.
Abstract: This invention relates to apparatus for elevating a mobile workover rig to an elevated operating position proximate wellhead. It includes a portable platform arranged for positioning proximate the wellhead with the platform having a fixed generally horizontal upper surface portion for receiving and supporting the wheels of the rig thereon. It also includes ram means comprising two longitudinally aligned portions connected to the platform for forming an inclined ramp extending from the upper surface of the platform to the ground for moving the rig thereonto. It also includes means connected to the ramp means for raising at least one of the portions of the rig to an elevated generally horizontal position substantially the same height as the upper surface of the platform while wheels of the rig are supported thereon to thereby elevate and support the rig in the elevated operating position.
