Patent number: RE31760Abstract: A baby carriage having a pair of front legs and a pair of rear legs. The pair of rear legs each have an angle bar pivotally connected thereto while the angle bar has a pusher rod pivotally connected to the other end thereof. With the baby carriage in the opened state, the angle bar is substantially in line with the associated pusher rod body. With the baby carriage in the closed state, the pusher bar body and the associated angle bar are in bent relation to each other, thus reducing the vertical dimension of the baby carriage. Further, in response to the turning movement of the angle bars relative to the rear legs, both the longitudinal and the transverse spacings between the front and rear legs are reduced. In this manner, the baby carriage is folded.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1983Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Assignee: Kassai KabushikikaishaInventor: Kenzou Kassai

Patent number: RE31762Abstract: A plastic body is provided for use in a container which is adapted to hold product under vacuum, without undesirable deformation of the container. The body has a curvilinear bulge at the base of its cylindrical sidewall, and the bulge is dimensioned and configured to permit its slight deflection under vacuum which, in turn, facilitates upward movement of the bottom wall of the body. These changes effect a reduction of volume within the body, thereby reducing the level of vacuum which forms therewithin. The characteristics of the body render it particularly well-suited for production in relatively small sizes, utilizing relatively rigid synthetic resinous materials. It is also especially adapted for use in connection with a metal end closure, which may be hermetically sealed thereonto.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1980Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Assignee: American Can CompanyInventors: Donald C. Patent number: 4486938Abstract: A process of remanufacturing drilling fluid pump cylinder liners to increase the liner working life and to improve the same involving the steps of: procuring a used liner having a hard metal alloy inner layer from a pump cylinder, and removing portions of the interior metal surface so as to form an enlarged diameter, accurately dimensioned cylindrical surface in the liner. The remanufactured liner is then supplied for use with a specially manufactured piston having an enlarged diameter. Sequential remanufacturing steps can be carried out following several pumping and use cycles so that an orginal liner can be remanufactured multiple times. Prior to the procuring step, the worn liner can be checked while it is retained in the pump cylinder to determine whether extraction is necessary. If desired, the liner can be cleaned by a number of procedures and the outer diameter and configuration checked and, if necessary, resurfaced to restore the original outer surface dimensions.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1981Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Inventor: Billy R. Patent number: 4486939Abstract: A method and apparatus for joining an end of a flexible membrane to a rigid backing. A sleeve is used which plants a portion of the membrane and a resilient member in a seat, preformed along an edge of the backing. A punch associated with the sleeve then forms the edge over the resilient member to capture the member and membrane in the seat and at the same time severs any excess portion of membrane along the edge. In one embodiment the membrane is a tube having an end joined to an annular backing about the opening in the backing.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1982Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Assignee: Union Carbide CorporationInventor: Vytautas Kupcikevicius

Patent number: 4486941Abstract: The punch, stripper and die holders of a punch press are moved bodily toward an indexable turret and automatically pick up a punch, a stripper and a die from the turret preparatory to being shifted bodily away from the turret to perform a punching operation. When the punching operation is completed, the holders return the tools to the turret, the turret is indexed and then the holders pick up a different set of tools from the turret. Means are provided for shielding vulnerable areas of the holders from debris created during the operation of a plasma-arc torch which is associated with the press. The tools on the turret also are shielded from the debris.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1983Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Assignee: W. A. Whitney Corp.Inventors: William B. Scott, Daniel C. Patent number: 4486942Abstract: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor integrated circuit of the BI-MOS type on a common semiconductor substrate comprising forming an oxide film by thermal oxidation to isolate the elements and a base layer of one conductivity type by a surrounding dielectric followed by removing the oxide film from emitter and collector electrode extending regions. A silicon film of a second conductivity type is formed by patterning and used to form an emitter layer and a collector extending layer by differing impurities from the silicon film. Patterning is then employed to form gate, emitter and collector electrodes. Finally, the mask for the silicon film is used to form a base electrode extending layer, a source layer and a drain layer of the first conductivity type and of high impurity density.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1983Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Tadashi Hirao

Patent number: 4486943Abstract: The invented technique permits the gate length to equal the channel length: source/drain regions are self-aligned and non-overlapping with respect to their gate electrode. The non-overlapping feature, along with other optimized device characteristics, are generally provided by defining a gate electrode over a substrate, forming an implant mask of dielectric, for example, on the sides of the gate electrode, and implanting a source/drain region such that the implant mask shields a portion of the substrate from implantation to provide a gap between a side edge of the gate electrode and the implanted regions. The source/drain region is then heat driven until its side edge is substantially aligned with the edge of the gate electrode. Self-aligned source/drain contacts are also provided using the implant mask to isolate the gate electrode from the contacts and interconnects.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1984Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Assignee: Inmos CorporationInventors: William D.
